Quote:I remember when Katie Hannon was the best TF.Ok, so, I think a lot of people would agree this game's best TF/SF is the ITF. It is done over and over and I have done it a ton.
Mind you, I'm not saying the ITF is necessarily a bad TF, I'm just saying that raw popularity isn't all that great of a metric in my eyes. -
That was where I was coming from, actually. Slug doesn't really sound like a shotgun slug...it sounds like a single bullet shot.
-
My point is that it's very possible to be stopped from using it that way in the MA because of the limitations of the filter. I can't have a contact say "Y'know those Wyvern guys? They really piss me off." but I can have an NPC say "You're pissing me off!". That lack of consistency is irksome. (Mind you, I could be remembering wrong on the specifics, but I know I've had some kind of problem like this before.)
-
Agreed. The synergy that exists between primary set stuns and secondary set stuns is, IMO, far too important to disrupt.
Quote:I like Slug. Automatic rifles do have single shot settings. Decrease it's reactivation time. -
I do think PBs and WSs should get access to the Teleportation and Flight pools, since there's no overlap and no real reason to restrict them.
But I don't agree with a temp power recipe. I'm disliking the growing trend of enabling people to skip whole powers in their builds by using extremely cheap and common alternatives. -
I agree with all of these, though primarily the first and third suggestions.
I'd also like to see an "Arc Spotlight" system that randomly chooses from all non-DC/HoF arcs available and puts 5 to 10 of them at the top of the list for a short period of time; a week at the most.
Obviously this could potentially highlight a farming arc or some other undesirable arc, but considering it would be getting greater attention, it would also theoretically be more likely to be reported out.
The advantage of all this is that, assuming it worked right, the system would promote arcs without bias and with less developer overhead. Instead of desperately hoping and waiting for a Dev's Choice position, getting a lucky Spotlight entry would be enough to get your arc seen and played. Plus, it's via an unobtrusive, contextual in-game advertisement rather than something clunky like an in-game billboard or of limited scope like trying to garner plays by promoting the arc on the forums. -
Quote:Blood Brother versus DamnedAnd how do they look different? They really don't. I've fought the, pardon the pun, damn things enough to know they are the exact same models, albeit with cheaty powers.
This is about as close as they get. The trick with both the Hellions and Skulls is that their members are made up of a small pool of respective components, but each rank is slightly differentiated, primarily through color, but occasional through other accoutrements, such as the masks worn by lieutenant and boss class Hellions.
Quote:And yes, I do mean cheaty. The Hellions and Skull run as thus;
Minions: Run of the mill, suitable for levels 1-5
LTs: Single attack, higher damage, still suitable for 1-5
Bosses: Lol pwn u n00b. LOTS of attacks, all with high damage, fire and neg energy damage and DoT/other effects. A very steep upswing in the 'hard' factor for 1-5. -
So? The 40+ content is largely made up of newer, bigger threats. I like the idea of Numina being a "this is where you've been, and this is where you're headed" trip around Paragon before you jump into the world crises and nasty business of the 40s.

Quote:I still want to see some all-out gang warfare in Perez Park.Maybe a zone event where you do have the "GANG" war active. hundreds of Hellions and Skulls fighting each other and your caught in the cross fire.
Of course, I also want a Perez Park revamp, even if it's just a small one. -
Quote:This and also that. Most of the good stuff is down in the 4-star ghetto. Unfortunately so are most of the farms and abandoned arcs and lame "comedy" missions.
I pick what to play based on posts in the Stories and Lore forum. A lot of the arc recommendations there are from players who have played a lot of arcs. Yes, I've played through most of the good stuff, but people are still putting out new arcs, just not at the rate they used to.
I love the MA as a story-telling platform, but I hate that a large majority of good content gets lost in the pile. (Part of the problem is that Dev's Choice needs to become a rotational system, rather than a permanent list.)
Similarly, I really hate how to get any playthroughs at all, you pretty much have to market your arcs at every available opportunity. -
Quote:Clockwork already come back a lot through their alternate universe counterparts, the Psychic Clockwork. But they are still low level... or we think. What Samuel_Tow was saying was have the Bad guys RETURN!
We do see this with The Clockwork King coming into play during the Lady Grey Task Force. But at the same time he's just for one mission at the end. Where is his "RETURN OF THE CLOCKWORK KING!" Arc.
>.> Hmm... that gives me an idea for an AE but that player made not Dev Content.
I definitely agree with more callbacks to the early game. A few missions in Grandville (as well as few blueside) do this, and it rocks. I also want to see more Diviner Maros-style missions, where it turns out that your character set off some of the events that show up on the opposite side of the game. -

The hunts are there as a look back at the past 40 levels. Keep in mind that Numina used to be the final TF in the game, period.
I just don't see the sense in that wide variety of villain groups crossing the entire city to attack the square, much less why they'd all con even. -
I've always found it a bit ironic that people clamor to have the Calvin Scott TF put back in via Ouroboros. While I'd never say no to adding more content to the game, the Scott TF is in fact an example of those older, unpolished, and largely dull arcs. Literally the only thing special about it was that it was temporary, and it's likely it was designed to be unremarkable due to that.
In general though, I pretty much agree with Sam. The timeline aint perfect, and there are lots of glaring errors that we were told would be fixed but never were ("2nd Rikti Invasion" arc), but hey - it's a comic book MMO. Timeline confusion is par for the course, I'd say. -
Coming from the "it just bugs me" and "I just thought of this" department:
It's always rubbed me the wrong way that Burst is the weaker attack and Slug the stronger, just from an animation times perspective. Switching them around wouldn't buff the set in any noticeable way, but I thought I might as well throw it in as another general AR improvement. -
You used to be able to do this back in the day, and I'm not quite sure how it got changed, but it's been effectively bugged ever since.

Wow, I like!
Of course, I'm a sucker for anything that makes Rooted not, well, suck. -
Quote:I would never consider purposefully restricting costume parts just for parity. That said, it appears all of the 60s Arachnos soldiers are male, so it would similarly take more work to convert the pieces to the female model just like it would to convert butt capes to men.as an addition to this suggestion, since only female widows can use butt capes, could the 1960's soldier gear be male only to give them something unique to use?
comments?
Of course, as always, what would be done about Huge..? -
Quote:As always, I agree with improving Buckshot. It's one of AR's bread and butter attacks because the set simply doesn't get anything else viable to add into an attack chain, so overall endurance economy suffers a bit. It's surprising to see that it's actually the best Blaster cone of its cost. Though it is only up against Howl, which gets less damage in exchange for a much more useful effect than Knockdown/Back...If we want to keep away from the cottage rule, then we'll have to WILL the set another single-target attack, for which I'd suggest Buckshot. If we can't get it into a single-target attack, can we at least balance its cost around that of a single-target attack? It would help.
Finally, Full Auto. People swear by this, but as far as mininukes go, it's not terribly impressive. For one, Assault Rifle lacks Aim and, if you should choose Devices like I did, you will lack Build Up, as well. This puts the power really under the gun. Additionally, the power isn't actually all that powerful. It does 17 ticks of 10.14 damage at level 50, or a total of 172.38, whereas its nearest contender - Rain of Arrows - does three ticks of 75.07 damage, or a total of 225.21. Rain of Arrows can also be cast at a greater distance, has a much larger land area coverage (1117 square feet for FA to 1964 square feet for RoA), can be cast without line of sight and causes aggro only AFTER the power fully animates. And it's not fair to say that AR makes up for this weaker mini-nuke with greater strength in the rest of the set, because it really doesn't.
Full Auto needs to be rebalanced around its animation time, preferably with a damage buff rather than anything exotic like Hail of Bullets.
Flamethrower needs front-loaded damage and possibly a bit of an endurance discount. It uses more end than Total Focus for crying out loud (yeah, I know, ST versus AoE, but still). It uses more endurance than Full Auto!
I'm not really sure what I'd do with Ignite, if anything. IMO, it's one of the few powers in the set that doesn't explicitly have anything wrong with it. The fact that it's largely only useful when paired with an immobilize is slightly irksome. Makes it a lot less useful for a number of Corruptor builds, at least. Probably just increase it's radius a bit, or go with what you suggest, Sam, with a twist: You Ignite a single enemy, which then also leaves a burn patch behind. ST powerful attack + patch summon. Cottage Rule defeated.
If we're really fishing for tune-ups, M30 Grenade could stand to not be Smashing/Lethal damage. But it's less of a big deal than the other complaints. (Also, that's odd. Despite being identical in every way other than accuracy, Explosive Arrow gives a higher Defiance bonus than M30 Grenade..) -
I don't recall exactly where, but I want to say that BABs (maybe it was a different redname, I can't seem to dig up the post) confirmed that the doppelganger tech simply doesn't work with Pets, sadly.
-
The self-destruct sequence also activates a anti-teleportation field, which will interrupt any interruptible powers. Mostly it's there so you can't just use the Pocket D teleporter or a similar power and skip that part of the mission.
-
It's also entirely possible that simply because of their psychic connection, the Clockwork King thinks she's his daughter, or at least that he himself is her proper father figure.
Mind you, I like the theory either way, it's just that casting doubt on Mr. Yin rubs me the wrong way from a narrative perspective. -

Illusion could actually be ported over to Masterminds fairly easily by simply reordering the powers, replacing the two invis powers with the pet upgrades, and removing Flash for a tier 2 pet summon. Now, whether or not an MM with a built-in Hold and Confuse would be overpowered, dunno.
As for the OP, that third idea will never fly. Power tiers are not equal across all powersets. It would be very possible to stack various high-strength abilities without much effort at all, ie, Knockout Blow, Total Forcus, Clobber.
