I know I would - been trying to do a Citadel for a week now to finish TF Commander. haha
-
Huh?
Uhm gonna have to disagree with most of your "insights." IMO all ATs have a place and usefulness. -
Quote:I loathe UG simply because I do - not because I have failed it a bazillion times (I think I have failed it 3 times and been in it approx 10-12).Why even run UG or MoM when the failure rates on those two trials means that I get a 50/50 chance of a reward (UGT) or zero rewards (MoM) for doing it?
I have a 49% success rate for doing UGTs (and a 100% failure rates for PUG UGT). I have a 100% failure rate for MoM Trials.
Do you honestly think that I could care if either of those gave me enough Empyrean Merits for a PVPIO recipe for success?
Increasing the reward, with a high/extreme chance of failure for the trial itself is not going to be the answer to get players doing the trials. All this suggestion would do is to get those that do run a trial to abuse it more. A increase in potential rewards does not match an increase in ACTUAL rewards.
Edit:
And it has been sort of tried by the developers. They doubled the empyrean merit reward for Keyes, they've increased the odds to get rares/very rares, and they've increased the rewards for Underground. Keyes participation is up, but only after they reduced the difficulty. Undergrounds aren't up.
As far as MoM goes... Apparently aside from your server...it is being ran with great success. I run MoM 4-6 times a week and have not failed in a long time. I have only ever failed one TPN (First time doing it). I actually dislike Keyes simply because of it's gimmicks and the run here..do this..run here do that...Keyes is the one trial I have been on the least. I would run Keyes more if this suggestion were implemented - at least once that week is was the WIT (Weekly ITrial). As it stands now - I have the badges from Keyes and see no reason to run it ever again.
So I support this idea and think it would help out Keyes/UG mainly as those seem to be the least ran on my servers. -
Fire/Time is my main toon (and my namesake). I love the perma capped defense and the damage goodness of fire
-
Is it just me or are the recipe/salvage drops for the itrials practically non-existent?
3 BAFs
2 LAMs
2 TPN
1 MOM
1 UG
I got 8 temp power recipes..3 generic recipes...and a slow recipe...
Salvage I got a whopping 9 items
So my question... are the drops purposefully reduced in itrials? -
Meh to mini-games.
I think Pocket D will become the Ghost Town it once was before BAF/LAM once Issue 22 hits. I see most ITrials being started in DA once i22 goes live. -
-
My first toon back in Issue 3 was a fire/Storm controller which was deleted around Issue 11-12 I think. That was back when I had no clue really about the game. Took me forever to make it to 50 LOL. Since then I have made and deleted roughly 30-40 50's.
Until now - My Fire/Time Corruptor is my main toon and my names sake. It took me 5 years to find a main, but I am loving every minute of it -
Quote:In your opinion... Sorry I just hate it when people state things as if they were fact when they are simply an opinion. There is absolutely no evidence to support or deny this which makes it - an opinion based on your personal experience/ideology.Yeah, I should have said that they are more prevalent because of speed iTrials. A lot of the players that were not doing speed runs got used to doing speed runs because of Lambda.
Sorry but I have NEVER done anything but speed tfs. The people I team with for the past few years that is what we do and it has nothing to do with lambda or any other trial changing our play-style. Incarnate abilities have not really decreased our timing substantially on TFs. -
Quote:Care to supply a quote with a link?? I can guarantee you it is from a long time ago. MANY of the pvpers have left this game and that estimate of 15% is much lower now - need proof - go to a pvp zone or watch arena chat. PVP has never been a large part of CoH; simply because as many have said; pvp was an after thought to this game.that's not 15% chart-boi.
and that 15% is a quote from ex-libris.
gawd, why are people so dumb in this game?
FYI dumb would be relying on an outdated quote as your "evidence." -
Quote:A tank is absolutely not needed for the STF; I do it quite regularly and swiftly with teams of supposed "squishies" The problem is you have leaders who REQUIRE +3 for certain trials when it is simply not needed - you yourself saidAsking for level shifted toons on UGT: If you don't have enough level shifted toons you will be lacking dps, which means you will spend significantly more time fighting warwalkers and the avatar, the longer those fights go on the more time there is for someone to make a mistake (on warwalkers) and not move out resulting in a wipe and potentially a trial fail from running out of time, or on avatar you don't have enough dps and your clarions or other resources begin running out, the avatar's -res stacks up, people die and lose their buffs, the longer the fight goes on the higher the chance for fail increases.
Asking for a tank on STF: If you don't have a reasonable way to hold the attention of lord recluse you risk not being able to complete the TF, if he is not managed he will run through your team and rout the group, unless you have extraordinary dps and buffing. This may lead to the TF taking a significantly longer amount of time to complete or the group giving up and disbanding.
Whether you're asking for level shifts or a specific AT the goal is the same: Make the tf or trial go as smoothly as possible and minimize the chance for failure.
"There is no wiping repeatedly on bosses learning their mechanics, there is no learning how to work as a well oiled machine, effectively no progression, you go in with whatever you can pick up right then and there and you expect to finish it without a hitch, and if you don't throw a fit, as everyone has such a massive sense of entitlement. Sometimes you need to put a little effort into it, and the amount of effort needed for the trials is very minimal, moreso when you compare them to other games, it IS casual."
So which is it?? Level shifts are required? Or just a team that can work together is required?
And don't get me wrong... I like ITrialsI just am not a completely blinded person who can see the faults with them - of which there are many.
-
LOL No... it really isn't. Sometimes I think you simple disagree or say things so others will disagree with you just for fun. There is no LOGICAL comparison between asking for +3s for supposed level 50 content and asking for a tank on a STF.

Speed ITF (Or any speed TF for that matter) are not the result of any incarnate trial. If so how would you explain the nerf to KHTF..oh you mean way back when before incarnates when people sped through KHTF?? You mean the STF which has sped through since it was introduced in the game... gimme a break... Speeding TFs has been around almost as long as... tfs
To the OP: The reason the ITF was prolly done so fast is because it is the Weekly Strike Force this week so a lot of people are doing it for the extra bonuses at the end. People still do regular "kill most" ITFs (at least on Freedom) on a regular basis, but generally when a TF is the WSF it is done as quickly as possible to garner the extra rewards by people who have done it many many many times. -
Since Itrials/incarnate powers are the only thing keeping me a VIP a new currency because the Devs don't see people running their other trials as much would definitely cause me to simply unsub. I love running all the trials except UG/Keyes, but the majority of the trials I run are BAF/LAM for convenience; as they are the more popular ones ran more often.
To answer the OPs original question... I dislike Keyes/UG because they feel way too gimmicky to me and basically make my t4's +3 toon feel like a lvl 2 toon. I dislike those trials because they are the ones I have been on that have failed the most. I dislike those trials because they are the ones that tend to cause the most confusion among players. Running around aimlessly in the UG/Keyes is not how I want to spend my limited game time -
Uhmm you can already PLAY for free. Sorry no sympathy from me on granting even more forum access. For someone who is requesting other's opinions you truly do not seem to want any except those that agree with your stance.
Free players get WAY more than they did before Freedom launched... Some things are meant for those who actually PAY to play and help cover the costs of servers etc.
It amazes me how ungrateful some people are for what they already do have....at no cost to them.
So to answer your question: No I do not think the developers need to revisit forum access again...it has already been adjusted once to include more sections for freebies/premiums. -
I would love to see:
A Purple Healing set
More Accurate Defense Debuff sets
More Targeted AoE sets
A Purple Slow set
A Purple Luck set
A Purple Resistance set
And enough with the debt protection/reduction bonuses.. I mean debt is irrelevant in this game anyways. -

This thread is hilarious!
If people are so sensitive as to their names and fall for this scheme... so be it.
Personally I think it says a lot about both the seller and the buyer. -
Silly question.. I know how to raise and lower (SHIFT) and how to move horizontal (CTRL)...but how do you turn things just a few degrees>?
-
Exalted meets in RWZ for their incarnate trials.
But I agree there is more lower level stuff going on Exalted than 50+. -
Quote:Just because I am kinda bored..... I MAY just do this and record how long it takes.. how many runs etc etc.... hehehe and document it here on the boards.. because I already know it will bore me to Death (from below).Sam do you mind if I ask if you've tried to see what it's like leveling a character to 50 just doing DfB's? If not please check for yourself and see how leveling gets slower and slower as the character's level rises.
Maybe the people you've been talking to have a group of friends that get together and power play thru DfB's endlessly. Or maybe they are just perpetuating gossip that they heard but never experienced for themselves.
Need to find a toon I can play at such low levels a bazillion times though hmmmmmm -
Quote:The irony you fail to see is that when Hyperstrike posted the sale, another person (in a MUCH more polite manner) posted the SAME complaint you did to my sale. To which he posted the reply,
and then, YOU YOURSELF bought it for his asking price.
now you are trolling my thread about an issue you yourself contradicted.
Does no one else see the irony in this?
The first PM was asking you to stop interfering with my offer. The second PM was a direct response to the faulty reasoning in your response. I do it over PM because that is what the PM system is for.
Two weeks ago the market was in a different state... Market changes on an almost daily basis. Part of working the market is recognizing trends and adjusting to those trends. What sells for X amount over two weeks ago may not sell the same today; this is why it is important for those trying to marketeer to pay attention to supply/demand and what the population is willing and accustomed to spending. -
Quote:You mean the post where I spent 2.5....Please read the following thread to understand exactly how hypocritical you sound right now.
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=278826
and then spent 2.25 ...on the next purchase
and then 2.25 ...on the next..
and then 2.1... on the next
Because the market is currently over inflated and the prices have dropped 500 mill on such things?
And btw can you please stop sending me long winded PMs?? Thanks -
I look at AE differently... If people are going to quit over AE babies... that is their choice. These supposed AE babies had a short half-life and imo have been completely been blown WAY out of proportion. I have seen incompetent players with hundreds of badges..including many of the vet/yearly badges. Teamed with an emp defender with over 1,000+ badges... who thought their role on a BAF was to auto follow the tanker with auto heal aura on (dying multiple times and sometimes just laying there for 30-60 seconds)... So ya see incompetent players can come in MANY forms.
If people choose/chose to quit because of a perceived small minority of players... their loss imo.
Back on topic:
1. Probably pvp altogether...if not then the changes made in issue 13.
2. The AE system, because of how convoluted it is...how horrible it is to search etc etc. the dead arcs that don't get cleaned up etc....
3. ED and not putting IOs out at the same time...to show why ED was implemented.
4. Creating SOO many hero zones...thus effectively creating quite a few dead zones (I look at you Boomtown, Eden, Crey's Folly)... I can go to those three zones on any given day/time and see a MAX of 5-6 people (usually just me hehehe) UNLESS the WTF happens to be there that week.
