I used to only play "Defenders" and always advertised myself as an Offender. To me it simply is a mindset; not saying anything is wrong with being a Defender....only AT I cannot tolerate is a heal0r; which is a completely different mindset than an Empathy Defender
Emp/Rad
Emp/Dark
Kin/Elect
Rad/Psi
FF/Sonic
Cold/Ice
Traps/AR
All of those were 50 and all of them are now deleted except:
TA/Arch
It isn't because I dislike the AT, but I made a decision to limit myself to one of each AT as I had way too many toons to devote any decent amount of attention to. I will break this rule once Water Blast comes out and I will be making either a Rad/Water Def or Water/Rad Corruptor -
I totally forgot to check the market on Thursday evening and by the time I got home friday and got on..it was too late. Luckily I have lots of self rezzes from super packs already hehe

Quote:I too was very happy that Fringe got a final season of 13 episodes. It makes me glad it will be able to be written with a proper ending in mind. Nothing I hate worse than a show getting cancelled without any notice and not being able to wrap things up... I am looking at you:But only for 13 episodes, and then it's done. Which I'm actually ok with, despite it being probably my favourite sci-fi show of the last 10+ years. I think there's something to be said for not going on too long, and having a firm pre-planned end point.
And Supernatural is an example of that I think. I gather season 5 was the originally planned stopping point for the show, and while I more or less enjoyed season 6 (haven't seen 7 yet, stupid UK tv) there's definitely a part of me that thinks they should maybe have called it a day after 5, ended on a high note so to speak.
(but Supernatural is definitely worth checking out, it's a lot of fun)
Terra Nova
Alcatraz
and many more over the years.... -
Freedom has always been the unofficial farming server.
There are PLENTY of regular mish and tf teams though on Freedom...you just have to step outside of Atlas Park
Since you have not done them I would suggest getting to level 2 then running a DFB (Death From Below) it is a low level sewer trial for teams of 4-8. It will get you to lvl 6-7 easily and it is fun. Then I would suggest revisiting the Hollows...it was revamped some after you left. Once you are lvl 15 there is another lowbie trial called DiB (Drowning in Blood) which is also fun. Both of the lower level trials give you a temporary power/boost which can be quite useful.
Freedom and Virtue are the most populated servers and they both have their own pros/cons. Not sure if you have a level 50 toon, but if you do you may wanna read up on the Incarnate System...the new end game system...to me that is the best part of this game now. The incarnate system is for VIP players only though..not sure if you are premium or VIP. -
Quote:I personally love the celestial set...except for the rifle.I just got the 2nd Celes costume pack with my paragon rewards. I was looking forward to trying some of those back pieces.
So I head to a trainer to have a look and find....then are all 'spawning' like 10 in game inches AWAY from the back of my toon. They are just hanging in mid air, and look utterly stupid. As a comparison, the fire/ice back bits snap directly onto the characters back, no gap in sight.
Is this really how they are meant to be? I have seen some nice costumes using the back bits...and no huge gaps.
As an aside..the Celestial Rifle is one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen in this game. Actually..it is. Nothing celestial about it..its a tube of about 5 polygons, with a MS paint texture. -
The only real items I could see them making en masse for their players to buy would be:
Mouse Pads
Coffee mugs/Water Mugs
Stickers (what?? I would put one on my monitor)

Quote:I am glad profit is not the only reason the devs choose to do things for the game.....otherwise I doubt we will ever see AE changes, anything with bases, etc etc. Then make a real business case for why and exactly how this will make money for them. Not how you EXPECT it will make money. Not:
- Listen to me
- Do what I say
- ???
- Profit!!!
Until that time, this is just the iceberg shipping scheme from Brewster's Millions.
I would love to see your proof that if a name purge; with a 3 year cut off were to happen, it would adversely affect the game financially... oh wait..there is no way to prove either side when it comes to financial gain/loss....So in essence the arguments all boil down to he said/she said...since NEITHER side can definitively prove anything regarding this suggestion and monetary gain/loss for Paragon. As a matter of fact EVERY argument has been conjecture and supposition...for both sides...but you still have a select few who will swear by their claims...irregardless that they cannot PROVE any of it.... just saying
That said... I still stand behind the idea...even though it would have absolutely zero gain for me. The idea of rewarding someone who hasn't played/paid for years...seems a bit silly to me.
I actually discussed this with a friend of mine who runs his own store ...asked him if he had a customer who came in every day for 3-4-5 years and got the same kind of coffee...that he special ordered for them... what he would do if they stopped coming in. His reply was quite simple: Stop ordering the coffee since after awhile it is easy to come to the conclusion that they:
1. Moved
2. Died
3. No longer like his store/products
4. Found a new store/product they like better
When I asked him "but..what if they come back after 3-4 years and said "hey where is that coffee you always ordered for me??" He said he would just stare at them and wonder why the heck they thought they were that important for him to keep ordering something for years when they never bothered to come to his store. LOL
(He runs his own lil coffee/convenience store - his Canela coffee is YUM btw...and he orders it for me LOL... so then he asked me if I was moving or something LOL!) -
Quote:I am on Season 4 nowFine, fine... I gave in.
I watched the Stargate movie again and I'm starting to re-watch the show from the beginning.
This should take a while...Try to watch 1 episode a night...it is taking away from my game time!
Newest in game sound I heard was the tech lab door open sound... it gets very confusing -
Quote:And the fool who says that devs hate KB because of this proc must think the devs hate immob due to the hold proc in the purple set.Er, nope, not at all. I've been stupid enough in the past to join a pug from a blind with my energy/energy blaster only to enter a mission and before I have a chance to fire a single power and having the team leader say "KB Sucks" (Or words to that effect) and *poof* I'm kicked from the team. That wasn't an isolated incident either. Had plenty more teams that haven't cared, and never had complaints on my KB use on those teams, as I do tend to KB mobs towards melee types or back into groups if there is someone locking stuff down. KB is an extremely useful tool.
No, I don't think this proc will make a huge difference to the ammount of people who are jerks over players using KB powers, but it does legitamise their jerkish behaviour
"The Devs hate KB too, that's why they made the new proc!"
Ummm, false, KB foe, immedieatly hit the snipe and hit before he is even off the ground. Sounds like the best time to me.
Enemies not attacking for much longerthen KD'ed enemies?
Every power has their place...and in a capable players hands can be used to benefit any team.
I am just glad in my 7 years I have never ran into the players you have who kicked without cause...certainly hope you 1 starred them or something. -
I found it funny..as did the people on my league, broadcast, and Help chan.... then again I also realize this is just a game and not reality.

Quote:The funny part to me is.. Only on the forums does this seem to upset people. I was in a league with 23 other players and we not only found it informative...but we also all found it quite funny. After our trial we entered into Atlas and broadcast was a flutter with jokes etc...as was the Help chan. Considering how often this happens...to me it is a complete non-issue...but then again this is the forums and people will make mountains out of a grain of sand.Off the top of my head, he complained about his steam powered computer crashing, gave a shout out to a specific player, commented on his war horses not showing up, responded to a couple questions, made a pretty corny and unintimidating threat or two, among a few other unimportant things that should've been put only in zone-wide chat.
It got old really quickly, and was pretty painful to read through due to how cornball and silly it was. I'm not asking for award winning banter here, but this isn't Bad Penny we're talking about. It's Lord Nemesis, the man who took advantage of WWII and seized control of the Americas. At least act like you're treating your character seriously.
And despite what Zwill said, only around 25% of what was said qualified as "important." -

Quote:I love Once Upon A Time! The last 10 seconds of season 1 I was like: OH SNAP!As has been said before while SG:U was still airing, I watched all of the episodes and, yes, the 1st season was meh at best for 90% of it, it was "different" and wasn't all that bad.
If they just cut out about 4-7 of the "bickering" or "love triangle" episodes out and done more story it would have been nice.
Or just renewed it for Season 3.
Only good thing from SG:U was finding out about Robert Carlyle....one of the main reasons why I watch Once Upon A Time. -
I use the whole set as I find the 6th bonus to be the best. I normally slot it in Build Up though instead of a toggle.
-
Sanctuary is on my list of TO SEE series...as well as Supernatural.

Quote:I like your IO ideas.. I think free floating sets would be kewl.Hmmmm.... One issue? OK, but this one would probably take a bit of time to get out the door.
1. Crey's update. The zone is now shared, if not exactly co-op. Heroes, of course, can get there via Brickstown. Villains? Well, if they didn't want villains wandering around, they shouldn't have had the Rikti war zone there and then just ignored it, now, should they... Different contact trees, though Vanguard's stepping in to make sure the area doesn't turn into a war zone. (Possibly extending Praetoria, as well, as their Hamidon managed to "follow" a Primal back and learned about this zone - and our Hamidon, as well. Hami civil war a few issues later?)
2. IOs Revisited. Some of the less-used sets get moved from the drop table to a vendor (so if you want Calibrated Accuracy, you've got it.) Bonuses are updated (Debt Reduction now has something else with it at that same level.) New sets are introduced - a second useful snipe set, for instance - and some "free floating" custom IOs are introduced - if you want a Heal/Taunt IO, you can make it, and setless procs are introduced as well.
3. New free-for-all costume set. Bio/mutation themed... best way I can think of describing it is "different degrees of Swamp Thing." Tied in thematically with the ecological and industrial disaster that is Crey's Folly, of course - you've been affected by the area, or were spawned from it. Growths, "stuff" hanging from you, a few new (non-oddly-mapped) faces, "Unhealthy glow" aura and the like.
I think those three should keep the devs fairly busy for an issue. -
Makes me wonder how the new absorb mechanism is going to affect empathy.
Personally I do not think an emp is needed on any team..any defender imo is good mitigation. -

Quote:I still wouldn't play redside even if that were the caseHaving played redside and gotten multiple villains to 50 (more heroes I admit), I still don't get behind the more rewards blue side.
Sorry. If you're just running TFs (and believe me, I have nothing against that) and it's just about the merits, run em, get em done, wait...repeat. So blueside has more and some with bigger rewards.
Untill rather recently, Doc Q's bigger reward was due to most people taking over 5hours to complete it.
It's also something I find that is just full time redsiders way to complain about something. Truth is, I doubt redside would be as popular as blue side even if the merit rewards and SF matched up perfectly. -
Quote:And jacking names from comics= bad (cough Lunette cough)Yes, because the internet is SO HARD TO USE.
It's simply IMPOSSIBLE to access an online thesaurus to come up with alternative words, or check out foreign language dictionaries!
And roughly 30% of the English language derives from French, so....
In any case, you don't have to like the name, it's mine.
We've established your preferred MO is to covet someone else's name and contrive a way to take it away from them rather than expend a bit of effort to come up with an alternative, so I'm comfortable disregarding your opinion of what constitutes a 'good' name.
I have at least 50 characters I play more or less regularly. Some got their names right off (Nethergoat, for example, or one suggested by my nephew, Bad Guy Controller), but many were the result of trial and error.
I have another Moon themed character, a villainous dominator based on a character from my Champions pen & paper campaign many years ago. In the campaign her name was Lunacy. That was taken. So I went for Lady Lunacy, which wasn't taken.
My fire/rad controller went through a gamut of names before I found the right one- Three Mile Isleman.
etc etc.
I don't know what point you think you're making here and suspect you've lost the plot yourself.
But to sum up my position:
jacking names other players have already taken = bad
coming up with names other players haven't taken = good

1. Pool/APP/PPP Customization
2. TA and Archery color customization...
3. More customization in MM pets; esp the ability to disable/change/lower volume of their sound fx
4. Psychic Judgment - think a HUGE Psi Tornado
5. A new low level Itrial (for new 50's or ones with just Alpha akin to BAF/Lam/Keyes difficulty
6. 1-2 more higher level itrials
7. The next Incarnate power - Genesis
8. Some in game items added to bases
9. New Co-Op 40-50 zone (Revamp Eden???) with 2 Tfs - 1 a 4 person and one an 8-12 person
10. New IO sets: Targeted AOE, Slow, ToHit Debuff, Defense Debuff, and a purple Heal set.
10 things... not too much but plenty for people to go OOH and AHH over -
While I love my 50's...if there was no "point" (rewards) to playing them at all..I prolly would not play them.

CoH did run a few commercials back in late 2004/Early 2005... that is how I came to even know about the game
I saw the commercial...ran to WalMart..grabbed a box of CoH and have been here ever since. Sadly WalMart (at least mine) does not even carry CoH anymore.
