  1. Hey guys. It's that time again.

Going to be putting together another M&G at Origins this year.

    Event: Origins Game Fair
    Start Date: Wednesday, May 30th
    End Date: Sunday, June 3rd

I'll be working the con again. So the event IS happening.

If you're attending, or thinking/planning on attending, please post here and let me know.

I'll be contacting Paragon with a Swag request by the end of April at the very latest and I want to make sure everyone gets something cool.
  2. I want my demons to be able to put on a set of glasses and become socially invisible.
  3. Okay one thing.
    A 1000W PSU?

Dude! Way, WAY too much PSU!
I could understand if you were going with a GTX 580 or something.
    But you're going with a GTX 560.

If you go with separate PSU
    And case

You can shave off about $50 from your build and a big chunk from your monthly power bills.

Also, is there a reason you went with the $200 bog standard Intel board over say something more featuresome from Asus or Gigabyte?
ESPECIALLY if, as you say, you're looking to OC?

    Botched ritual.

    Like hell it isn't!

I went in the same way and picked up multiple botches.

I can kinda see why they did this. It didn't, originally, work this way. And because of the somewhat...DUMB order of things, you'd get it as a choice before your primary picks. So you couldn't be sure of which you were picking. What they really need to do is fix the text of the choice screen for the alt choice so that it spells out CLEARLY that it's the last of the three vet weapon choices.

Actually if your brain swelled to twice it's size, it wouldn't ooze out your ears.

Due to taking up four times the volume, and intercranial pressure, it's SQUIRT out your ears, nose and mouth (as it explodes through your soft palate and sinus cavity), and probably pop your eyes out.

Yep. I have a set of the older Vertex2's in RAID1 on my machine here.
I watch the progress bar come up, count "One, Two" and watch it race to the end.

17 second boot times are the shizzle.

I'm no big fan of Apple, wait. I'm not an Apple fan PERIOD. But SSDs make my inner hardware geek squee like a little girl given a pony.
  8. Why don't we just kill this now?

Wrangling over "But you REALLY meant..." isn't going to help the OP.
I think we've given them enough data with which to make an informed purchase.
  9. Also of note:

Lately on some of my characters I've been seeing that when go to redeem the vet attacks.

    I have the Mu/Axe choice
    I have the Staff/Wand choice

But I'm missing the final "alternate" choice (for either the remaining staff/wand/mu/axe that I didn't take earlier).

Here's what you do if you wind up with this problem (thanks customer support!)

  11. Okay Beast Run and Ninja run buff your maximum jump height.

MJH = Maximum distance you can "fall" without taking damage.

So, if you start off at one elevation, jump to maximum height, and wind up on a lower elevation, you'll take damage based on the difference between the two elevations (as if you had no jump height and stepped off the edge of a cliff).
  12. Hey, there's a reason divorce is so expensive.

    It's worth it...

  13. Welcome Blast Buddy. We're glad to meet you!

Oh yeah! We saved a bunch of bad guys for you to beat up when you're feeling antsy!

    10^11 * 10^14 = 10^25

    10^25 * 10^25 = 10^50

Still off by over 30 orders of magnitude.

Even if you jump up to 100 billion, you're still way off.

  17. Okay dumb question why did you go with Touch of Death and Obliterations?

They all give good Melee defense and "meh" S/L.

I'd be more inclined to go with something like this:

But I'd have to sit and play on the Dell site for a bit to know for certain what the price would be.
That's just it, you CANNOT get the same components on an XPS machine.
The GeForce cards on XPS top out at GT 545 and the Radeon at 6770. These are low-to-midrange gaming cards.

A 560 Ti will run away from these cards in a heartbeat. The 570 spec'ed in the iBP/CPPC systems will simply stomp it into the ground like a level 1 defender trying to solo level 54 Arachnos at x8.

You could cheap out and just get "the basics". But then you'd wind up having to go back and spend out more money on third party component. Worse, you'd have to wait for the stuff, then hope it'll all work together without buying MORE things (like a beefier PSU).

Oh yeah, and that voids your warranty.

At that point, you may as well have bought the iBP/CPPC system and been done with it.

I've not had one bad experience with any of the Dell's I've bought or that I've recommended to others. Most of the problems I've run into were either a software issue that had nothing to do with Dell or were resolved with a simple driver update, again, not something specifically to do with Dell.

But I guess since I quoted you in this post I'm one of the ones that's saying something you never said about Dell.
Dell is fine, mostly, if you don't care too much about the platform they give you. Dell does "an office full of basic clone machines" really well, and they can deliver decent "all around" computers cheaper than anyone.

If you're looking for specific hardware for a specific task (outside of the enterprise level server-grade stuff), in my not-so-humble opinion you REALLY need to look elsewhere. Dell won't provide what you want, and will charge you an arm and a leg for a machine that still can't do what you want.
  19. Stone/Dark doesn't synergize all that well, but it can still be a good tank.

I have a Stone/Dark over on Virtue. He's not one of those "OMGWTFUGOTTANKED" tanks. But he's damn tough and doesn't require much in the way of support.

Actually, this is a myth. There's something on the order of 1 billion neurons (10^11) and 100 trillion (10^14) connections in the human brain (some have more, some have less).

The estimated number of atoms in the universe is something along the lines of one sesvigintillion (10^81) to ten septemvigintillion (10^85).

    With one small problem.

Remember, just because the numbering schemas are similar, that you take a performance hit dropping back to mobile components.

Now, if a mobile workstation that you can't upgrade appeals to the original poster, sure.

    Their consumer report is...well, consumer-grade.

Their small business support is better but not great.

And while some of their enterprise support are possessed of accents thick enough to require laser cutters, they tend to be genuinely knowledgeable (or are once you get past the Tier 1 guys, though lately the Tier 1 guys have gotten better too).
