I'd like to sign up for the first three with Hyperstrike (Inv/SS) for MoITF and MOLGTF
I'd like to sign up Bubbleshot FF/Arch defender for MoKAAAAAAAAAAAAAHN!
I wish I could stay on long enough to help with the STF but I can't. -
Quote:Yes, but it does it by sacrificing even more of the stoner's damage output, making it take even LONGER to kill stuff.I beg to differ. Dark Melee brings to the table everything Stone (or any Tank, really) needs outside of recharge and run speed, which no Tanker secondary can give you. A heal, an endurance recovery, a damage buff, and ToHit Debuffs. I would call that synergy in the best form.
Sure, for most regular content you just taunt, let them come in and go get a sandwich. When you come back, they should be dead-ish. But there's only so many sandwich breaks most people can stand during a play session. -
I wish I had "rules" (they're more like guidelines) that I could always stick by.
I generally try to be nice and civil to people in-game, and I'm generally laudatory when leading teams, even marginal ones. But, on occasion the ugly, nasty, anal-retentive, cantankerous ******* that I am sneaks out and takes it out on someone who doesn't deserve it.
I'm usually IMMEDIATELY sorry for losing control like this.
Either that, or someone just starts pushing my buttons, deliberately, and finds out exactly how short the fuse really is (yeah it's that little bit of fluff right on the surface of that 15-ton bomb). So I bust out the napalm and go to war.
After these I'm usually NOT very sorry.
Maybe some day I should try to do something about my nasty, short temper. But I shot the last guy who commented on it in the face with a bazooka. So it might be a while before it's under full conscious control.

Quote:Having bought 6(+1) months of gameplay in late december, I am to be considered a VIP. However, it is now 12 days into February, I have not played the game at all in this month due to RL stuff but still havent received my paragon points! I checked my game account to see if I had missed something, but it hasn't mentioned any microtransactions for this month...
Bottomline, I haven't got my P-point sallary this month
Edit: Oh and yes, I usually get my paragon points at the start of the month.- Open a browser and go to http://us.ncsoft.com/en/
- Click on the Log In link at the top of the page.
- Log into your NCSoft account
- Click on Billing Summary
- Scroll down to "Microtransactions (Last 90 days)
- November 30th
- December 27th

Drugs and celebrity.
Two very attractive, dangerous habits that nobody in their right mind should ever partake of.
Too many such habits tend to end just like this. -

Quote:I gotta say this again. If you're a soft-capped Invuln tank **** UNSTOPPABLE!It'll be interesting to see how survivable Might of the Tanker will make a softcapped tank, particularly with Resilience thrown in. I might even be able to work in perma Dull Pain with enough tweaking, and then there's the occasional click of Unstoppable ...
You're going to keep and slot a power you'll, maybe, use once a year? If that?
Anything that's killing an Invuln tank through Softcap is going to kill you through Softcap+Unstoppable too. Even if you're only investing a base slot into a power, there are other things out there that can make you more survivable or make combat easier. -
Nah. Unresponsive interface is ridiculously common. Powers won't click. Inspies don't get consumed. And in the middle of a heavy fight you don't notice until it's too late. Or if you DO notice, by the time you actually get the damnable thing to click, you're going "Ooh! FLOOR!"

Okay first off, the Intel graphics aren't really meant for gaming.
Second, your drivers are about 3 years out of date (and as far as I can tell there just aren't any versions newer than yours).
Third, you've got 2GB of RAM (of which the video is eating half a gig of it). CoH can eat up 1.5GB easily.
On top of that, you're at max memory for that machine.
Honestly I don't know if there's much you CAN do.
Here's a couple suggestions.
- Defrag your drive. It'll reduce the amount of seeking (disk I/O) the system needs to do for CoH files.
- Shut down any and everything you're not actively using (including all the VAIO tools if possible).
- Start the game in Safe mode
- Start the NCSoft Launcher
- Right-click on City of Heroes
- Select Properties
- Check the "Start in Safe Mode" checkbox
- OK
- Start CoH
- Then start SLOWLY adjusting your graphics settings upward.
- Once you start getting screwy behavior, back it off a bit.

Quote:Aye. I don't agree with Paragon/NC's choices for some of their content, but their maintenance schedule and backup routines are something I wholeheartedly support.reading this makes me think of all the times I was disappointed with issues in this game, now... I count my blessings...
Is something occasionally lost?
Sure! It's computers. It happens.
But in most cases, you can get the stuff back in very short order. -
Quote:Basically the announcement happens 2 weeks before the end and billing starts from the last time you paid. If you keep paying it every 2 weeks you're grossly overpaying. Is it actually every month? I swear I paid it up already this month, it was due by 02/something. I logged in today and its due again 02/24. Its only 400 bucks so Im just curious how it actually works. Is it by use or something like that? Or has anyone been billed twice?
Basic wisdom is to pay every 6 weeks, right after the power is shut off. -

This is why I always tell clients "If you don't test restore backups once in a while YOU DON'T HAVE A BACKUP".
One of my clients, a few years ago had their local techs pull something like this on them.
The app we were supporting for them was an old dBase CRM that used direct file access. So, invariably, someone would leave it open every night.
Because the local tech company was too stupid to have these guys just buy a live file module for their backup software, they were getting "failure" reports on the backup every night.
So they "fixed" it.
By taking the application's directory out of the backup routine...
*6 Months Later*
The customer suffered a catastrophic server failure. They got everything else restored but when they went to the CRM, a several tables, that had been live when the server **** the bed, were hollowed out. 0-byte files.
So we're like, well, THAT sucks. Let's roll back to the last backup before the crash. Hey...where are your backups?
That's when the whole ugly mess came to a head. LUCKILY these guys still had a 6 month old copy on a laptop of one of their salesguys who never synced. We were able to get the data moved back to the server and get them up and running again, minus all their current data. Still, a damn sight better than losing their ENTIRE customer database...
This little career-limiting-move saw the local tech outfit bounced out the front door and told, pointedly, that they were blacklisted from EVER working for this company or any of its subsidiaries again. -

Lemme know when they're actually going to show off a Power Girl costume.

Quote:I second the suggestion by Newchemicals. Thanks for the replies guys. I did get that 700W PSU you linked, and it kept my case. What MB would you suggest going with, Hyper? Looking at other MBs now trying to find a decent replacement.
EDIT: Ended up finding a Asus board:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131790
Thoughts?
Simply because the boards are cheaper and non-SLI doesn't mean they're going to perform worse.
As with Newchemicals, I believe that if you're planning on SLI/Crossfire, you do it from the beginning or not at all. -
Quote:I'd say wait on your check and just buy/build a new system. Thanks guys I plan on doing one of two things. One get a new system and forgo all headaches for the next year or so maybe longer. Or wait for my tax check to clear and upgrade with a new mother board Chip Power supply and the best Video card and mega lots of RAM and windows 7 latest version.
Likely, if you upgrade the motherboard, chip and vid, you'll need to upgrade the PSU as well.
Gutting your current one probably won't save you all that much. -
