Keep the fact that you can be ridiculously awesome in this game WITHOUT IO'ing to the gills in mind.

IOs in this game, for all that people scream and cry and carry on about them, are an expensive luxury item.

For a shiny fun-time fake stuff market? YES!
The auction house and its attendant "stuff" is, for all that it can be an income booster, OPTIONAL in this game.
People are NOT (and I repeat NOT) paying real money to have access to the consignment house with gear at a guaranteed price point. That's what the various vendors are for in the game.

People are paying the monthly fees for:

1. Access to the game at
2. A specific tier of game access

Nobody's promising them IOs and Hami-Os of any type, level, etc, etc at low low low prices.


If this is your expectation, YOU ARE PLAYING THE WRONG GAME.

No. I think that if they're not diligent enough to go earn one themselves, and they have the spare 2+billion burning a hole in their pockets, and they want one, they get to pay the "Buy It NAO!" tax.

In some cases they're paying this because they're too dumb to see they could earn one themselves in short order and far more cheaply. In others its because they're paying for convenience.

The "true intention" is pretty obvious.

YOU feel it's horribly unfair that some people use the market as a form of PVP minigame. This is just a nasty little mess of entitlement and envy masquerading as moral outrage.

A certain amount of clinical detachment is required to do the job without going nuts(er). Becoming involved with your patients on more than a very shallow level of familiarity can be extremely problematic. ESPECIALLY if some of the patients aren't quite in their right minds.

Several of the young women I worked with had issues with stalkers due to not maintaining enough professional reserve.

A lot of it will depend on the medical, law enforcement and social institutions.

While nobody in serious trouble would ever be turned away from an emergency room, people with non-obvious problems in financially troubled medical institutions will be "allowed" to slip through the cracks.

Depending on the law enforcement locale (nice, peaceful, rich suburban community vs urban warzone), response to a random Jane Doe with no evidence of sexual assault and a memory lapse, the response will vary.

And with varying governmental social program policy will determine admittance and length of stay.

Suffice it to say that I gave you a grittier, more callous response.

And if you're going to calculate a normative weight, then tell the player "do these mental gymnastics to calculate your weight if you're anything other than human norm", there's exactly ZERO point to expressing the number in-game. If you REALLY want to say "MY player wieighs 110 pounds (25 of that being her boobs) and stands 6 feet tall" do it in your bio space.

How "extensive". Depending on how severe it really is, they could admit her for observation and wind up doing more scans of her head.

Chalked up to the brain damage. But if she starts exhibiting any sort of dangerous behavior she'd be restrained and sedated.

Basically it's a test for pupil response and to check the size of the pupils themselves. This helps rule out concussion or other forms of conditions affecting the person's brain. Things like blown-out pupils, or pupils that don't respond (or respond slowly) to light (normally a light will cause almost instant contraction of the pupil) will indicate that there's either been head trauma or some disorder is affecting the person's brain.

Maybe yes, maybe no. If there's no proof of insurance, they'll likely do preliminary testing but expensive procedures like MRI and CAT scans will wait until the police investigation unless the person is obviously in some sort of medical danger.

Again, without insurance, they'd turn her over to the police unless there are extreme medical contraindications that would mandate a hospital stay. What the police would do with her? Not sure. Possibly drop her at a shelter (or wherever she woke up (her apartment?) and make an attempt to check in on her over the next few days.

Think "destroy a building by dropping a comet on it" (Young, untutored, unexperienced Penny) vs "controlled demolition" (Psyche).

Both mostly accomplish the same thing.
One would DEFINITELY result in a larger energy release than the other.
And one would likely have all sorts of nasty collateral effects that might not be so desirable.
