Quote:By doing what they did for the other 90-something percent of the game.So seriously, because I'm sure the devs would love an answer to the question themselves. How would you deliver on that rich multi-player experience? How do you make people want to team up without gating stuff behind team-oriented content? How do you keep City of Heroes from becoming a single-player game with a few multi-player features tacked on as an afterthought?
Keep nothing important gated behind teaming. Just make teaming more renumerative for the player. -
Quote:For some reason this stuck in my head:I'm enjoying it on a very psychological level.
- Joe and Bob attack my stalker.
- My stalker starts beating up Joe.
- Bob is happily taking pot shots at me without a care in the world.
- Before Joe is dead, my stalker turns around, looks at Bob, and one shots him.
- No one saw the attack.
- Then he calmly returns to finish off Joe.

I'd love for someone to time the trip from the Thorn Tree on Thorn Isle in Nerva Archipelago, to Faathim the Kind in The Chantry - to make it fair, let's assume it's on a Rogue, so using Ouro to hop blueside as the first step isn't an option
I'll do it myself later, of course (can't right now, at work) - but thought I'd throw it out there as a sort of open challenge
- Base TP
- RWZ
- Peregrine
- FBZ
- The Chantry
Okay, took Hyperstrike on this run.
And didn't use any Teleport powers.
Just SuperJump (that's only slotted with a Winter's Gift -Slow) and Sprint
Went this way:
- Thorn Island to Ferry: 1:25
- Ferry to Cap Au Diable North: 0:15
- Cap to RWZ: 0:20
- RWZ to Peregrine Island: 0:10
- PI to FBZ: 1:10
- FBZ to wormhole for the Chantry: 0:45 (got stuck on a bad jump up to the wormhole platform and probably wasted about 10 seconds)
- Combination of SJ and Jet Pack to the Chantry: 2:25
6 minutes 30 seconds.
Would have been 5 minutes 30 seconds but I burnt a minute circumnaviating Faathim's place looking for the shield entrance (which would have been just to the right of my original approach vector).
Now, if you have friends with Teleport Friend or Assemble The Team at strategic places, it gets MUCH faster. You can essentially cut the entire trip from the FBZ wormhole exit out. -
Quote:English does not "borrow" from other languages.I'm not sure if you were mocking the usage of this, but just in case you weren't, the possessive form of It is Its. It's is a contraction of 'it is'. Stupid and confusing, but that's the english language.
English follows other languages down dark alleys,
hits them over the head and rifles through their pockets for loose grammar.
If English had a visual representation it would be this:

Except that there'd be no attractive young lady up front speech-making. -
Sorry, don't want to buy a PVP IO. Have all I really need right now.
However, I have a few bases on multiple servers that are going wanting for the T3 power item that's unlocked by 250 PVP kills.
Shoot me a PM here or in-game at @Hyperstrike1 and we can discuss equitable rates. -
Okay Snow Globe.
Stop holding back.
Bite Find's head off and tell us how you REALLY feel!

The worst hunts are Croatoa. Kelly Nemmers' arc.
You get two hunts for Fir Bolg and Red Caps.
The minute you get them all but a couple groups of each in very specific areas are despawned.
Yes, despawned. I've gone and stood in front of a mob that's despawned the minute I took the mish. -
Due to the way SS works, it wouldn't survive a scrapper port intact.
Likely Rage would be reworked into something else. -
In short, it's not totally useless.
It's usefulness as a defense booster is somewhat limited for you, but it still provides some benefit. -

There should be only one update.
Unless something terribly broken creeps onto live that wasn't noticed as being present on Beta. -
Quote:After I had problems with my 560 (turns out the issue was the then latest drivers), I went looking for a solution, and the thing I saw the most on nVidia's forums was to stay away from the Ti series...
Uh. WHAT?
Which one?
The 560Ti?
The 560Ti-448?
And why?
I could POSSIBLY see there being issues with the 448 (since it's a 570's with some of its processor cores turned off because they didn't pass Q&A).
But other than that... -

I'm so glad you appreciate that!Quote:Its mean
Realistically, if someone meets my price point (or exceeds it), mean doesn't even enter into it. At worst, I have something I can either sell on the market with a 10% loss to market fees or *GASP!* use myself (heavens forefend!) on one of my alts.
Honestly, you "feel" so. Thought doesn't really enter into it.Quote:At least i think so.
So's this:Quote:is a comment,

So are street signs. People still, regularly, ignore them.Quote:a warning,
Okay, you've done it now! You've overloaded my indifference meter!Quote:and a judgement.
As to the changes coming tomorrow.
People will adapt. Or most will. The marketeers will still make money off other people's ignorance. It's inevitable. -
The first billion is always tough.
The second billion is slightly easier.
The hundreth billion is kinda like breathing. You aren't doing a hell of a lot, it just *happens*.
I take a couple minutes whenever I log on and when I log off to clear market slots and put stuff up. The money just rolls in.
I have a tank I started less than a week ago. It's just barely level 10 and already has over 20 million in Inf. No twinking.
I've got another tank over on Triumph that cashed in on common IO crafting for a bit then parlayed that into a couple billion crafting purples. That tank hasn't hit level 15 yet. -

Yep. And completely irrelevant in regards to the sales venue and the consumer. The document itself is about internal and government regulation in the milk production/processing industry. But has almost nothing (other than establishing baseline pricing) with the final sale price a seller offers a carton of milk to his customers at.
Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing. Try it. -

Quote:11 years wasted evidently. What're you doing now?wrong totally wrong. Having spent 11 years in this field you cannot sell commodites over market
Take a look at futures again. Buy low, sell high. The difference = profit.
If someone enters into an agreement with you before close of the market to take delivery at a certain price point (which may be above market value), then yes, you CAN. -
Quote:Actually no. You're not. You can argue with the seller. You can ultimately return the car within a certain number of days. But they're in no way obliged to give you the price differential.Wow Yes in fact you are depending on the date of purchase.
Pancake you buddy.Quote:What country do you live in.
Try a real argument instead of an ad hominem.
Actually try renting a truck sometime. Then turn it back over to the rental agency less than full. You'll be charged above local market rate per-gallon.Quote:If a gallon of gas is 3.50 and you pay 7 there is a crime.
Find the statute for this. Until then, you're blowing opinion out every available orifice.Quote:If milk in the state of vermont is 3$ and you pay 6 a crime was commited.
You're entitled to SUE to attempt recompense. That's NOT the same thing as being entitled to recompense.Quote:If you pay 300$ for a barrel of oil and the rate is 150$ yes you are intitled to sue for recompensation.
Yes thats exactly what i am saying!!!!!!!!
You can argue any arbitrary price point you want. The fundamental principle remains the same. If two people agree on a price point, there is no ripoff. Regardless of how (un)informed one of the parties may be.Quote:Not 28k for a car worth 25K this post was about things that are 2billion(on market) 2.5-3 billion off market when tommorow they may be 200mill. thats a big difference.
Get a grip already. -
Quote:A seller can sell you a car at whatever price point you can agree on.Try that with a car, milk, butter, a house, electricity, natural gas, propane, gold, silver, platinum, oil, the list oges on and on. Why cause you cant. Its unetical and illegal.
Coming in at MSRP or even the seller making a "profit" is in no way mandated by law.
Same with milk and butter. There are simply regulations (health codes) that said foodstuff has to adhere to. Price isn't set.
A house? If a homeowner has their home valued at $250,000 and they choose to sell for $150,000 there's no law stating they MUST get $250,000. How do you think foreclosure flippers make money?
Electricity, gas, etc, due to deregulation in various areas, you can buy your utilities from whomever will sell it to you for whatever price point you agree upon.
Gold, silver, platinum, etc can, again, be bought at whatever price point buyer and seller agree on. This includes commodities trading.
Gasoline can be sold for whatever the business owner feels like selling it for. Profit isn't required. The only way they can be stopped is by:
A: Running out of money due to negative profit
B: Being blackballed by their fuel suppliers
C: Running afoul of agreements with their national/regional affiliate.
The thread is active, but the OP's last reply was 10 days ago, after waiting nearly 2 weeks he was looking at putting it up on the auction house. And that was AFTER dropping his price.Quote:yes its older dates but tis a current active post. Im just warning people and why shouldnt I. How could you assume that its ok to sell things at high prices.Quote:Selling a level 50 GladArmor +3% Defense IO that recently came into my possession. Asking price is 2 billion. Contact @Justaris in-game or send me a pm if interested in buying. Thanks.--this one is newer
And this example merely goes to show that what we're telling you is true.
Without a willing buyer, there is no price point. -
Quote:So if you buy a car for $50,000 from a dealer and later find out that another dealer was selling the same car for $28,000 due to a tax rebate, are you entitled to the $22,000 back? Did that first dealer rip you off?And as far as me making my influ on the market honestly is very different than someone charging 1 bill over the cap for something that is currently as of this writing about 1.2-1.5 bill. Thats a 100% overcharge.
No. You made the decision to buy at a certain price point. If you didn't have all the facts, there's nobody to blame but you.
Also notice that the devs aren't going out of their way to penalize people who facilitate transactions off-market. They're not going out of their way to make it easier to do so, but they're not criminalizing it or anything.Quote:BUt that was deemed ok by the devs so nothing bad there. -
Quote:Well, when you're shuffling around 100+ billion across your characters, "expensive" one's idea of "expensive" isn't quite the same as the guy who's total Inf store on their account is 2-3 billion. And, really, even then only a tiny handful of IOs are actually expensive.
Agreed.Quote:Anyone dropping a billion on a single IO is already way, way out on the far end of the curve for slotting up a character.
