    Necessary? No.

Simply pointing out a new entry on said list is "not" a "new point".

No. No it does not. You're not "entitled" to anything.
If Paragon wants to do it, out of the goodness of their hearts? Fine. Great. Wonderful. I'd have zero complaints.

But read the user agreement. You're not "owed" jack or ****. This is bald fact.

Now for opinion. Paragon already gives users quite a bit for free. These continual calls for "compensation" appear to be nothing more than rampant greed stemming from acute cases of self-entitlement.

As to another MMO doing it? See the "out of the goodness of their heart".

You are not promised 720-748 hours of gameplay a month.
  3. Okay guys. Sorry to have lagged on this.

The build took longer than I thought (damn real life!) and there were a couple cascading problems which I'll cover later. And pics forthcoming as soon as I can get my system to recognize my darned phone again so I can pull the pics off it.

But. As of right now this machine is live.

The CM is a nice unit and modular. So if you don't happen to need certain cables, you just disconnect them. It cuts down on cable clutter.

The Antec has a little more "head room" for later upgrades.

And with secure plots, for me also, will give me the ability for 2 of the biggest energy and control items which I will need.

I just need to figure out stacking now as I want my meeting rooom upstairs.

Thanks for everything - If any1 els has something they would like to add, plz drop a post. TY!

Okay, stacking has gotten MUCH easier.

Simply place an item roughly where you need it. Hold down the Shift key and move your mouse. It'll rise. Stop when it's where you need it.

Now, if you're looking to make fairly extensive second floors out of desks. it's easier to place a floor tile first, levitate it up where you need it and drop desks on top of it rather than individually place and lift each desk.

I do have a question though that i forgot to ask...
As I have 3 mill to spend I can now upgrade plot size but i dont really understand which rooms i need for what I.e. Control room and how many connections are needed, i have a control room in my base but can not connect (think i need AUX but it says im maxed)?

And would it be better to sell most things like wall lights so I can plan base shape withought the square turning red coz there is something blocking it on the walls etc?

NEED to know whats the deff between the normal plots and the secure plots?
As secure costs a lot more?

    Thanks again.....@Flush-VIP
    You'll want:

An entrance room (included for "Well Duh" sake).
A control room (at least 2x2).
A power room (at least 2x2).
A Teleport room (at least 2x2, as that'll get you 2 telepads and a 12 beacons).

    Optionals:
    An Infirmary
    A workshop

On the default plot you can fit ALL of these QUITE easily.

Here's a basic layout using Neo Shadowdream's web-based layout designer.

Note: The section of the layout taken up by TP beacons isn't really a room. It's just representing all 12 beacons so it's counted against prestige, power and control.

As you can see, this basic layout will run you just under half of your prestige budget. If you wanted, you could bump to a larger 3x3 or 3x4 (or even go to the 5x5) transport room if you wanted.

    Factoring:
The Basic Generator/Power Crystal (T1 Power item)
The Supercomputer/Orbits of Control (T2 Control item)
    12 beacons
    2 hacked telepads

    What's not factored:
    Reclaimator/Res Ring
    Vault
    Storage bins (multiple types)
    Invention Worktable
Base Item Workables (Normally I just pull these out as needed and make them go away when I'm done).
    Empowerment Stations
Auxiliary Energy devices (to boost power)
Auxiliary Control devices (to boost control)
    Decorations.

And the difference between Hidden and Secure?
Well, the Secure plots cost more. (Duh.)
Also, the Hidden plots allow a maximum of 1 main Power and Control device.
Secure plots allow for 2 main Power and Control devices.

My current main base has both the Autonomous Expert System (T3 Tech Control) and the Mystic Orrery (T3 Arcane Control) as well as the Fusion Generator (T3 Tech Power) and a Power Crystal (T1 Arcane Power).

The reason I went dual power in the first place was I liked the Arcane version of the Vault Door better than the Tech version. The only thing stopping me from going T3 Arcane Power right now (the Dimensional Vortex) is simply lack of free Prestige and the fact that I'm too cheap to convert the billion or so inf to make it so.

So, basically, unless you're intent on getting VERY fancy (decorative) with your base straight out, you can build pretty much everything you need and still have a big chunk of prestige left over.

I did use some PSU calculators and it looks like it will work in practice, but if anyone who could answer this will, I'd appreciate it.
Okay, if you're overclocking the 550 isn't going to cut it. With a couple case fans, plus a CPU cooler with 1-2 120mm fans on it, you're looking at right around 500-540W.

You you simply "peaking" to that on occasion, I'd say no biggie.
But this is going to be a "for sustained periods" situation.

If you can stretch the budget a bit more maybe look at:

    This Cooler Master unit.

    Or this Antec unit.

Also curious as to how this will do running ultramode, and if you notice any serious problems with this build. Also I believe it will be, but everything here will be compatible if I'm not mistaken, is this correct? Thanks for the time![/QUOTE]

They don't sell them anymore unfortunately. So I'm combing Craigslist for local sellers. I've missed 4 of them in the last 6 months. A couple of them by mere minutes.

The things are totally modular. So you can add additional hutch shelves, swivel arm shelves, etc.

Correct, I foobar'ed that. My apologies.

    So let me clarify.

Any VIP who is part of your SG and has been given permissions to pay base rent can pay rent.
  12. Yes. Any VIP can pay rent.
Not entirely sure WHY it happens to be set up this way. But there ya go.

If you're multi-boxing, then no. The extra cores come in handy.

Or I would like to run CoX or STO, while watching stuff I download on a second monitor, so 2 monitor support is a key feature. How do I know if the computer is capable of that?
Basically you'd have to look at the specs for the video card. If it's an integrated video card, 9 times outta 10 it's "get a real video card if you want multi-monitor". You're usually looking for dual-DVI ports on the vidcard.

Anyway I am open to suggestions. I am in the $600-$800 price range. Would like at least 6 core just because I am a guy. 8 Gb is enough. Dedicated graphics card is essential (or else i would just go to walmart). Would like to keep it to the lower end so I can add a 20-23 inch monitor to go with my current 17in. I currently get by with my old 100GB HDD since i have a 1.5tb usb external. So I like the idea of getting a 100gb or so SSD drive and (maybe moving over my current 120hdd) and keeping the external for mass storage.

Because of my price range I cant get everything i want, and have to sacrifice in an area. What is the best to sacrifice in? I have looked through newegg tiger and have some I like, just want to find the best fit, so figured I would ask the great community here.
    Head here:

Gather the info as suggested in that thread and post back here in this one.

Or you could just accept that some set combinations are REALLY low maintenance. If you're looking to play a more active mastermind, by all means, look at a different power combination. If you want to be able to AFK for 30 minutes and come back to find all your bots still alive and that huge spawn really most sincerely dead? Go Bots/FF.

Thing is, on a Win7 machine, you can't have 3.51 active if you don't have the stuff for 2.0 on there. I found this out the hard way with a client a while back.

Yeah. Have it hooked up to the Mini-HDMI port. So, if I wanted to crank down my resolution and go wireless for keyboard and mouse, I could play on the TV.

Why crank down? Because 1920x1080 comes out blurry on the screen.
    1280x720 is much more readable.

Thing is. IOs allow a FF'er to hit softcap for THEMSELVES. Allowing them to then concentrate on ACTUALLY helping the team by adding damage output through more consistent use of their secondary.

Also, while the defense boosts are nowhere as big as Destiny Barriers, they're more stable in the long run.

My current FF/Arch defender sits at 35.8/48.7/46.5 Mel/Ran/AoE and over 50% energy defense.

In addition to 60% S/L resist, 36.6% Energy resist.

If I laze off on teammate bubbles, they get +20% defense when in range.
If I take the time to use PBAoE bubbles, they get +42% when in range and +22% when away from me.

What do IOs mean to me? It means my teammates aren't REQUIRING me to be the lynchpin of the group in the same way they would have previously. And now, instead of taking a group of teammates with "okay" defense and making them "great", I'm taking teammates with "great" defense and making them "INVINCIBLE". And I'm doing that in a way that doesn't require them to hide behind my skirts (to use a metaphor) just to enjoy outrageous defense values.

Needless to say I spend the good majority of my time outputting damage.
Moreover, playing at Incarnate level, all my attacks (save one Melee attack) have +112% EndRed and 100% or better damage increase.

Moreover, I haven't made more than a cursory attempt to optimize my Recovery. I have a Numina in there. But I haven't dropped a Miracle in yet. Nor am I mounting PerfShifter procs.

But I can attack, pretty much non-stop, without endurance issues.

And if something gets in too close and seeks to get around my "weak" melee defense?

This is what Repulsion Field, Force Bubble and Thunder Strike from my Epic are for.

My Forcefielder is NOT rendered obsolete by Destiny Barrier. My Forcefielder allows others the luxury of taking something BESIDES the Destiny Barrier and can exemp down without losing it completely.

Anyone telling you that FF is obsolete or "lacking" because "Barrier does it better" needs to put the crack pipe down and actually LOOK at the numbers in-game and think about more than just "U putz bubblez around muh peepz".

No offense. But I call BS.

While FF doesn't have the damage/control output of Traps, it's ALSO not relying on destructible/duration-limited pets for defense. And the defense moves with the "owner". So you can't "outrun" it. This leads to a more stable defense profile than you have with traps.

It ALSO leaves the "owner" free to concentrate on damage output with their secondary.

Really, by the time that sort of software is even entering the picture, odds are you're already screwed. Keeping on top of software updates... both for the OS, as well as all your third-party programs (a tool like Secunia PSI is very helpful for all those programs with non-existent/crappy updaters), is the best possible thing you can do to improve your security- beyond PEBKAC issues.

The basic difference between AVG Free and AVG Paid is that the free version updates once a day. The paid version can update multiple times a day if something hot comes across AVG's radar..

So if you suddenly get socked with an honest-to-bob zero-day exploit, you're marginally safer on the paid version than the free version. But only marginally. 99.999% of the time, the difference is negligible.

When the UI gets down below about 70%, some of the clickable areas are a bit wonky. Things at the top of various lists (like the first Incarnate enhancement in any given list, or the first e-mail at the top of the mail list) tend to be VERY hard to get a clickable area for.

And no, increasing UI size isn't the answer. I want as much of the UI out of the way when I'm playing as I can get.
