  1. The only downside is that the level of the event means some tankers get their AoEs turned off.

But yeah, felt like a complete bad*** during the cut scene with me walking out into the arena.

Well, there is something to be said for at least being recognizable next to the source material.

That's like dropping a wedding ring into a cage with 9 guys in it, have them wrestle around for an hour, then have the shortest one chuck it into a fire and calling the film "Lord of the Rings".

Or taking that old video of Glenn Danzig getting his jaw jacked and calling it "Rocky".

The SST films had a superficial patina of the source material, mainly names and basic concepts like the bugs and military citizenship. Beyond that, it showed either a complete lack of understanding (or complete disdain) for the original material.

Granted, some of the juxtapositions made in the film were amusing. But, on the whole, SST was just a mess, with the sequels getting progressively messier.
  3. The problem is the launcher itself doesn't play nicely with Windows sleep functionality.

If your computer is going to stay up and running, it's bad enough. The launcher has various leaks in it that'll eventually cause it to crash anyhow.

Trying to get it to survive sleep mode is about as likely as enjoying a vasectomy with a chainsaw.

If you want to bring up the launcher, just remove /LaunchGame=WHATEVER.

Perfect Hitter, part 2. Talk to the Dishelved Drifter, balf guy in the green coat. He is to the right of the room.

Perfect Grifter, part 2. (havent done it myself, info from a friend).flirt, then crass comment then crass comment til she walks away
then golden, then payout/jackpot then security

Question about the Overwhelming Proc. The text says..that is has a penchant for the dramatic... What does this mean exactly?
Perfect Thief seems relatively straightforward. Gather all of the items in the first heist.

Then maneuver through everything on the second and open the vault once the grifter has done his job.

I basically fell into that one.

    There. Fixed it for you.
  6. From what it sounds like, you may have corruption in the costume file of that first character.
  7. If you have a character that you can SPECIFICALLY show is crashing the game, your best bet is to contact support and have them look at the character.

At worst, they would have to null out the costume.

This is like what the worst of the Korean grindfest MMOs would institute to mooch money off their customers, essentially by designing "elite" content that requires those buffs to run.
And nothing in this game "requires" these.

You can't even make a viable case that the devs are INTENDING to make content that requires these. You can merely FUD out a slippery slope parable.

Again, though, it raises an old spectre of a question - what do I pay a subscription for?
So, basically, you're saying you're cheesed because you're not getting this for free?

Or that you're cheesed that these boosters put a Tier 2 guy infinitesimally closer to your IO'ed to the gills toons?

Or that you're cheesed that an OPTIONAL item in the cash store somehow devalues your choice not to buy them and run the content in regular or hard mode?

    Quote:
Aside from character slots, what exactly does this subscription give me? I still have to buy my powersets, I still have to buy my costumes and I'm continually the target of real money sinks.
    It gives you:

    • Character slots
    • Access to VIP-only content
    • Access to all non-premium power sets
    • A stipend of points to spend as you will. No, not enough for you to buy everything every month forever. You have to budget them if you don't wish to augment your stipend with additional cash. Nobody every promised you all content post-Freedom for free with a sub.
    • A server transfer token.
    • You're also a long-enough term vet that most of your Reward tokens are really only useful for consumable.
    • Complete unfettered SG access.
If that's not enough, go Premium and then tell us how much your player experience sucks.

And how much do you want to bet next time I complain that something is too hard, I'll be told to just "buy an amplifier, it's cheap!" And it's a rental, too. The best kind.
The amplifiers are basically multi-aspect super inspirations with a long duration. Deal with it. It'd be objectionable if they were perma improvements.

And if some intellectual cripple is going to insist on you buying one or tell you that you should buy one for something you feel is too hard, do you honestly care what they say? Or would you want to game with someone so mentally stunted?

Stop trying to borrow trouble and just play the damned game already!

Yeah, you see ones that somehow "dig in" to compensate for recoil in their own weapons.

The same thing just isn't going to work for incoming ordnance.

Sure, the legs will stay upright. They rest will snap off at the hips.

Tank and tank destroyer crews (not to mention artillery teams) would LOVE something with as big a 3d profile as a mech.

  13. It could be one of the nodes between you and the server itself is sick.
Granted, you SHOULD have issues to ALL the servers then. But you never know what a funky node is going to do to mangle your packets.
VPN'ing around it works around the issue but doesn't fix it.

Can we get a pathping from you without the VPN? And one with the VPN (so long as it isn't pushing through sensitive networks)?
  14. Muse.

Can we get your current build? It'll help us to tweak a build that's already "somewhat" familiar to you. Rather than just smacking down a build, that might require changes in your play style, and going "Here! Go forth and DO MIGHTY TANKAGE!!!"

Once and for all find a way to solve the problem with Mastermind pets that leaves them stuck at the entrance to a map. Reason ... same one we've been complaining about for years since this first occurred. The pets are the majority of an MMs DPS and a good portion of its defense. It gets real old every time I enter an Incarnate trial having to wait to see if my pets are actually following me before I can do anything... and if they aren't I have to waste more time typing in /releasepets and then respawning and equipping them. I've joined BAFS where they were already battling Northstar by the time my pets were mobile. Sorry but a slash command that makes them all die is NOT a solutions its a quick fix and after several years the word "quick" no longer applies.

Fix the issue that map serves players on Incarnate trials and returns them, OFF THIER TEAMS, back to the zone they just left. Reason .. totally annoying and a fix that allows me to contact the league leader and ask to be reinvited has several inherent problems. 1) okay I can't remember the league leaders name and now I need to scroll back through a bunch of chat in zone to see the last time he talked so i can contact him. 2) remember his name or not .. I do send a tell only to discover he got booted too and now both of us are trying to contact other team mates to find out who IS running the league now. 3) League leader does not get booted but the OTHER bug occurs and now not only doesn't he have the satr .. he's not even a team leader [not that that matters since once inside ONLY the league leader can invite players].
Actually, if you get booted by the game, you should be able to simply go to the LFG tab and rejoin. You don't have to stand there begging the league leader. It gives you an option to rejoin the trial you were already in.

    Quote:
See reference above and then fix the situation where a league zones onto a map and teams have been torn apart, leaders demoted and the league list stretches half way across the screen. Reason ... Granted there isn't a single Incarnate trial that has a timed phase one YET.. but in some cases a player that never wanted to lead, has never lead and doesn't want to lead now finds himself in charge. I use the term FINDS loosely because there are times we actually have TO YELL AT THE NEW GUY .. repeatedly to get him to notice he is the one running things and give control back to someone that can reassemble the teams.
Not entirely sure this is fixable, due to how the trials are disconnected from the individual players. If they tied it to the league leader, what happens when he crashes during zone in? Does the whole league crash? Do they drop in with a blank space in the leader spot? Do they get bounced back to the starting zone?

The trial system is, unfortunately, another one of those "hairy" systems. It just happens to be a NEWER "hairy" system than the character creation matrix or the base builder.

Not saying it SHOULDN'T be fixed if it CAN be. But if all the alternatives are **** sandwiches, I'd rather stick with the **** sandwich we have now.
  18. From the time you're posting, it looks like you were trying to sign in during the middle of the weekly upgrade/maintenance cycle.

If you sign in now, you'll get a patch and then be able to log in.
  19. I know people keep going "PVP = 'SPENSIVE!"

    Honestly, they're not.

Back when, if you could get them, they were 2 billion on the market (and more off), yeah, they were expensive.

Now, you're going to pay around 200-300 million for one. And if you can snag a less desirable PVP IO and use converters, it can be even cheaper.

While that's not chump change, that's EASILY do-able and about in-line with purples.

And more, there are non-Inf methods of acquiring the IOs through Alignment Merits or Incarnate merits. Granted, they take a little time, but they're BY NO MEANS unattainable.
  20. Here's a build that's soft-capped to all three.

    • No, powers are NOT chosen in optimal order for exemping. This is a throw-together.
    • No, this build is NOT intended to be something you level up with. This is a finished build.
    • No, this build is NOT cheap. But then, the best things in life are already free. So who cares about a few billion Inf?

But it can give you some ideas for how you want to work your build.
