This is something of a broken meme. The strength of titanium is a strength-to-weight ratio (tensile strength). Not an indicator of hardness.

Pure titanium has a hardness comparable to low-grade iron and steel compounds. There are various steels out there that are far harder. Titanium and titanium alloys simply do it while reducing the overall weight.

    Upsides to using titanium alloys.

    • Lighter than straight steel
    • Stronger than aluminum
    • Corrosion Resistant
    • Non-magnetic (when not alloyed with a ferrous compound)
    • Non-conductive

As has been noted previously. The servers have been upgraded. The color indicators are for system load, not population. The current server setup can handle higher loads before the indicators bump. What would have, previously, been a locked-out server is now either yellow or sometimes green.

This is a known issue. Was broken with the last patch. The current patch on Test fixes this. But there wasn't time to roll it out before the event.

    C'est la vie.

    Third, no 2x in AE.
This was a bug. The devs acknowledged it was a bug. But, by the time it was discovered, the event had already started. By the time a patch could be written for this, the even would probably be over. And how do you explain a multi-hour maintenance in the middle of such an event? Which would go over better?

You can still play this, but you won't get double XP (though you can play regular content and get double XP).

    OR

You can't play for a couple hours, we're fixing stuff. Go pound sand.

Now I get that this was normal - and that in the past, getting double exp. in AE was the mistake
No. No it's not. Again, you're supposed to get doubled XP in the Architect. It was a bug that's preventing it.

The changes to sidekicking and the Architect had NOTHING to do with farming. They were about removing the ability to abuse certain game mechanics for undue rewards. See "Exploits".

The MA isn't the whole server.

My Global list was jumping this weekend with a lot of people I haven't seen in a while. Most of them, strangely enough, on 8-man teams.

Translation, there were a lot more people on this weekend. They simply weren't crowding in AP, broadcasting for PL.

Note: A lot of them on Virtue were crowding into multiple instances of PI for PL. Freedom popped multiple instances a time or two as well.

On a good note, I'm glad they extended the weekend over until Monday so that people who normally don't get to take advantage of 2x experience can.
Something I agree with. Maybe you're not all bad.

Actually, I believe you need to select the character you want to apply the respec to as well. Otherwise it'll simply apply the respec to the toon that it happens to land upon (normally the first toon in the list, though if you've been flipping around on other servers, it flips to the pre-chosen slot)

    So:

    1. Start CoH
    2. Log in
    3. Select your server
    4. Select the character you want to appy the respec to
    5. Click on the "Enter Store" icon/button.
    6. Select Character Respecification
    7. Follow all the directions, read all the warnings.
    8. Log into the character.
    9. Respec!
  7. Etiquette Rule #1: The Team Leader will outline his desires and plans for a mission BEFORE anyone (A-N-Y-O-N-E) sets foot in the mission. This prevents "why did you touch my glowies?" misunderstandings.

Etiquette Rule #2: The Team Leader will look for specific confirmation from each of his prospective teammates.

Etiquette Rule #3: When bringing someone on mid-mission, the Team Leader will observe Rules 1 and 2 for the new member during the invite process.

Etiquette Rule #4: If you don't like the restrictions put on you by a Team Leader, QUIT THE TEAM AND DO SOMETHING ELSE!

Had an instance of this last night. Had a team leader who had the misfortune of pulling a bunch of Malta missions when his team was comprised of mostly lowbies. So he tried a new contact to see if he could get something else. Carnies AND Malta!

I let them know that this would be my last mission, then crashed out during the first mob. Merely confirmation that I needed to do something else.
  8. I want me a "Just Appears" travel power. In "Heroic" (think "The Cavalry has arrived!"), "Terrifying" (think "Who are you!" "I'm Der Fliedermausmachen!"), and "Mysterious" (think "Where did THIS guy come from?") flavor.

You press a button and you're just THERE man! Don't ask how you got there. It's not important. The fact is, you're there, and some butt is about to get whupped!

(Admission: Yes. I've played Starfleet Battles. I was one of the playtesters for the Captain's Edition. Yes. I know this is something like the Legendary Captain rule. So sue me!)

  11. I agree with Fleeting Whisper. Your first mistake (especially with the PB) is not taking the forms. Warshades can get away with it...somewhat. They play something like a Dark/Dark blapper if they do. Human-only PBs have problems blapping though. Your build is almost identical to how I'm loaded out on my human-form PB. And yes, at L20, it's painful.

Running a second PB and concentrating on Nova, is what convinced me to rework my higher-level human-only on the alt-build. I positively SAILED through the Hollows arcs. Nova works very well in the Frostfire arc and is GODLIKE for cave maps (staying out of Troll melee range at that level is a BIG plus, it's hover-blaster several levels early).

Work your alt build. Take Nova with a bunch of ToHit Buffs (later, slot it for EndMod too, it's fairly End-efficient, but in heavy fights extra End is ALWAYS nice). Three-slotted ToHit, combined with two-slotted Acc, while it doesn't guarantee you'll hit them, drastically cuts down on End wasted on MISS! MISS! MISS!

It's going to play differently from what you're playing now. But that's cool too. Try to 4-slot your nova powers. Acc, Acc, Dam, End/Rech at lower levels.

Once you're able to take Dwarf, do the same (save for stuff like the teleport power). Also, ignore the power pools unless you have NOTHING else to take. Your forms ignore them and you won't really have the slots for worrying about them until into your 40's, at which point you'd be better off with some judicious spending on your human-form baseline powers (like the heal). The only caveat would be IO mules.

Then, if you want to blast, flip to Nova. If you want to scrap/tank, flip to Dwarf. It takes a bit of getting used to and a bit of planning with your macros and trays, but once you do, it's completely natural.
  12. Yeah, khelds mature late. Even later than tankers. Usually, once you get into your mid-30's, and start picking up enough slots to actually slot everything out, you start getting an inkling about exactly what people are talking about when they rave about khelds.

It actually took dual-builds for me to *get* my L31 PB. I have my primary build as a human-only blapper and franken-slotted to high heaven. He grew somewhat organically, so I took what seemed most effective to me at the time. He's *okay*, but not really special (though in some instances he DOES have his moments).

With my second build I went tri-form and basically ignored human-form. So I've got a beefy Nova and Dwarf. And he's SO much more playable. Even with just common IOs.

My human-only WS was similar. Outside of a team, it wasn't particularly effective. But around level 38, everything just kinda gelled and the next three levels flew by so fast it wasn't funny. I need to play it a bit carefully still, but give me a few more slots to play with and it's just going to be an absolute BEAST.

With Diet Coke, you can still get fat off consuming it. It just takes a lot more. So there's badness in there. Just not quite so much. Very small-scale.

That's pretty much what I'm doing. I'm not like some of the people shifting multiple tens or hundreds of millions in a tiny number of transactions. But I'm rocking about 120 market transaction slots and making an absolute BUTTLOAD compared to my initial investment. It's slowing down a bit, today was the first day I didn't have to COMPLETELY reload all the transaction slots with fresh merchandise.

Had a couple expensive fat-finger mistakes, but the prices I've been getting for the stuff I'm selling has made it a drop in the bucket.

Still, for a few hours of check and refill duty, I've made an absolutely crazy amount of money (granted, I could almost exceed that with a single purple drop, but that wasn't my intention) relative to my initial investment.

Actually no. Remember, the servers are MUCH beefier now than some of the previous DXPWs. Stuff that'd have locked out a server now show as red or even yellow.

Virtue was showing yellow for a while this weekend and had several instances of PI.

Freedom wasn't showing yellow but it was also showing multiple zone instances.

Protector was seeing a large increase in population as a bunch of old players came back for the reactivation.

Saw that you weren't running MA. So I've excised this portion. Read on for further aimless rambling about what you were seeing.

To clarify, we played the last double xp weekend and got two of her characters leveled up from 24 to 25 and 26, which was one level for one and two levels for the other. Friday we played one of them again for the same amount of time as before, trying to reach 27, but all she got was 3 bubbles.
What difficulty level were you running? Also, how large was the group you were running with? Or were you solo/duo'ing?

If you were, try cranking up the mob size (number of heroes) you're equivallent to. You'll see larger mobs and more XP. Also, maybe bump the difficulty (base is +0, try +1). Even soloing, I've been making XP hand over fist. On one of my level-pacted characters, soloing, I made about 3 levels (couldn't stop myself from badge-*******). On another level pacted toon that's strictly levelling-oriented (mainly because it's a support character that solos badly), with a bit of teaming I went from 15 to 26. Took a Scrapper I hadn't really touched since last Halloween from 31 to 34 in about 3 hours on an RWZ "Save the World" mission set to +3x8 at level 50. Would have gotten further, but we had a bunch of lowbies and didn't QUITE have the damage output to finish off Nemesis through all the ambushes. Also, took a fresh Ice tank from Outbreak to level 10 in about 2 hours today. Would probably make more XP if I wanted to, but I've been marketeering this weekend too.

    Quote:
Also, we were consistently getting odd-number prestige rewards. That never happened last time. Now either they reward fractional prestige (oh WoW, how stupid would fractional rewards be?), or the prestige isn't doubling.
It's possible that you were getting it due to some odd combination of XP vs prestige and rounding.

I'm not too chuffed by this. The way I see it, they don't have a Big Bad Tier 9 because their earlier tier powers are slightly superior. So the *I win* is spread out among the other powers into smaller helping of *I'm winning*, *Still winning*, *Why the heck are you even trying?*, and *Say Good Night Gracie!*.

I didn't really understand the power structure for Banes very well until I'd gotten up into the high 30's and early 40's. Actually needed a respec bad at that point because it was necesary. After rebuilding him, even on standard IOs, he was a friggin' monster.
  17. Okay, after blanketing several niches, then, seeing which way the pricing was going and focusing on two (then one), I'm on track to turn a measly 8 million initial investment into 160 million.

Thank You "Gotsta Haz It NAO!"

And no, I'm not saying any more until AFTER the weekend is over.

This is like complaining about having to learn how to kite in addition to learning DR. It's simply one more thing to learn. If it's "too tough", there's six letters for that. Four of them are the same.

    Nuff said?

    No? Fine.

It's called "attention to detail". Teaching people how to adapt to powers based on one portion of a whole visual cue is setting them up to fail.

Would default colors make it EASIER for these people?

    Indubitably.

So would an "I win" button.

The situation, now, with PVP teaches new players DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED.

The minute you do, you're waking up in a reclaimator back in the base.

What I'm proposing goes a step beyond what IOs or other enhancements would normally give you, and allow you to add a little flavor to your toon.
For example, what spider based villain wouldnt love to have a spider pet proc occasionally?
Essentially you're talking about universal enhancement slots.

It's been talked about before. Not really sure if it's going to go anywhere or not.

As to "pet procs". If it's strictly cosmetic, I could see. Otherwise, in a universal slot format, I'd think it'd be horrendously hard to balance.

Properly slotted he'll be nearly untouchable and while base damage isn't great, with a bit of judicious rage-building, you should saw through stuff in ways that leave my Inv/SS tank envious.
  24. Okay, personally, I think your recharge between IOs and Hasten is perfectly fine. As such, I'd pull out the Force Feedback proc, and the Golgi in RTTC.

Drop both slots into Stamina and put common EndMod IOs in there. That'll significantly boost your recovery, and more than offset the loss of the Golgi.

As for the loss of FF proc, I'd say that it doesn't fire off regularly enough to really account for the slot it consumes.

The extra recovery should help offset the rage and hasten crashes while your recharge stays decent.
