Quote:6 Slotted hasten. Absolute maximum recharge.I am a little confused as to why you want 6 slotted hasten, and a 6 slotted speed boost (slotted for 3 recharge and 3 run speed). 3 slotted hasten is more than enough, given that people are going to be speed boosting each other. As well, why slot speed boost for 3 recharge when it recharges in 2 seconds, and slot 3 run speeds when all it affects is the run/flight speed and has nothing to do with jump?
Not necessary, but if you're dedicating an alt build specifically for this and no other reason...
As to slotting run on SB. Because someone is probably going to be SB'ing the tank as well.
Yes, but do we want to take the challenge to the ultimate point (getting a tank, more or less how they operate in combat and allowing them to jump).Quote:With regards to having the tank rooted, you can have granite armour on and NOT be rooted, correct?
Since we, apparently, don't need multiple zones worth of people, why not try it anyhow?Quote:They are two seperate powers, right? I think all we're talking about here is launching a tank in granite armour, not a rooted one as well. -
Basically Hasten, SB, IR. Six-slot them all. (Rech x6),(Rech x3, Run x3),(Rech x3, Jump x3).
Anything else is more or less superfluous.
Okay, just looked again. Whoever quoted 100 Kins might be off...just a tad. Or my math is wrong.
Granite has a -50,000% Jump Height on it.
IR three-slotted for jump height gives a +5534% Jump Height
Essentially, 10 IRs ought to do it (division comes out to 9.03~). Or is Granite mysteriously exempt from the addition/subtraction math of everything else?
Two full teams of kins could probably have him jumping like a super jumper.
I didn't go more than three-slotted for jump due to the desire to keep recharge on IR as low as possible. With everyone SB'ing like nuts, a group of 50's (even with some lowbies mixed in) should be able to get three IRs off before the first IR's bonus fades. Maximizing coverage.
Now, Rooted ALSO applies a -50,000, just double it. 19-20 people. -
Easy(ish).
- Rikti War Zone.
- Fill it enough to generate RWZ2.
- Put the stoner in the RWZ2.
- Pile the kins into RWZ2. Fill the zone.
- Pile kins into Atlas/FF/PI (pick ONE). Would probably recommend PI as it's the other two are fairly tight quarters.
- Place the stoner in front of the zone portal to hero side. Pack in as many people as you can around him.
- Pack people around the portal on the hero side exit point. Have the person running the event HERE (with an assistant running the RWZ side).
- Have the event leader, when the hero side is ready, signal his subordinate to begin.
- IR the living crap out of the stoner in RWZ2 and have him zone.
- The second he zones in, IR the crap outta him again.
- Stoner: JUMP YOU ROCKHEAD! (Basically stand on your spacebar.)
- Everybody BETTER be clicking PrintScreen as fast as they can.
Note: It REALLY helps if you have someone who's a relatively fast zoner as your "skipping stoner" so the buff doesn't expire in transit. -
Okay, first thing.
Are you looking for a LEVELING build? Or a finalized, respec'ed-into build?
There are lots and lots of good respec builds out there. But some of them (like mine) would be an absolute beeyotch try to run as a leveling build (had one friend who tried, it wasn't pretty). -
Quote:Not necessarily.
That would mean that everyone would have to have their hair in two modes: normal and ultra, and they would have to transmit both sets of data to everyone in range because graphics detail is stored client side.
Depends on how they do it.
If they specify that ultra hair is simply a offshoot of the current hairstyles, no extra bandwidth is consumed as the client side settings are what determine if you get movable hair or not. Like Bloom effects, or PhysX.
If the client has Ultra Hair turned on, they get Ultra Hair.
If the client has Ultra Hair turned off, they get normal hair.
If they decide to do Ultra Hair as separate hairstyles, it's simply a different hair code being passed. -

Bah.
If we're in a situation (like a sewer run) where there's going to be a bunch of it, I simply offer out an "infinigratz" right at the get go and leave it there.
And it's a "social wart"?
Remember, not everyone gets the same degree of socialization you do.
Honestly, does it actually HURT anything to congratulate someone?
IMNSHO, the answer is "No". -

You never saw Famke Janssen in Goldeneye did you?
-
I dunno. Depends.
Are we talking like "James Cameron Presents: CITY OF HEROES!"
Or are we talking about some Uwe Boll schlock-fest?
It really DOES make a difference.
Still, I'd love to see my namesake cameoed in there.
Sitting around waiting for a massive strike, and bust out with the Ghost Widow joke.
Dead silence
"Aw come on guys! It's funny! I swear!"
*Looks around and see's a bunch of dead soldiers and Ghost Widow.*
"Aw sh*SOULSTORM!* -

Quote:Why? We're still less than a month out from the last DXP weekend. Usually, we have a massive hoovering affect on the market for several weeks afterward as desirable recipes and the appropriate salvage are pulled off the market by people with more money than brains.I'm fairly surprised to see salvage spiking back up to the 3 million + range, wonder how long it will last and if crafted costs will begin reflecting the spike or not.
Like all the newly minted DP L50's. -

Heheheheheheheheheheheheh. -
MUWAHAHAHAHA!
My wicked (but not necessarily evil) plan is succeeding!Quote:This stuff always freaks me out.
And sorry I didn't make it last night. RL meeting of company owners last night. And real dollars sorta have to trump Inf. -
Hey guys. Was thinking about opening up the MLC Fire/Rad group to people beyond MLC. While most of us are going to level lock below the level you can run an ITF at, there's no reason we could not provide training for a group of Fire/Rads who WOULD be laying smack down in higher level TFs.
Would any of you object to something like this? Figured I'd ask here before dropping an advert in the Freedom Forum.

Quote:I was just thinking the other day about the PLers. How would your guys feel if Paragon/NCSoft offered you the chance for a small fee to start out as a 50? The character would start in AP with 0 inf and badges, just like a level one, only you need to go see a trainer and 'level up'. This might help to put the paid PL sites out of business. It will also give players a chance to not have to level grind another character and would be another source of income for the Devs to work with. Maybe $10 for 'Auto Level' option?
No. No no no no no.
It completely and utterly misses the point of the whole freaking game.
The game is, and always has been, about the journey to 50. Once you get there, yeah, there's other things to do. But it's about the journey, not the destination.

Quote:Which is not the same thing as dying.while the majority of player here proclaim the game isnt DYING, it isnt exactly bringing in the masses.
If you want to be technical about it. It's dying in the same way you or I are dying. A "Yeah. Eventually. Not sure when. Hopefully not soon." kind of dying.
And yours isn't?Quote:your stance on the subject is biased.
I'm suing for neck strain brought on by having to look up at you on that overly tall equine.
How about just "not as populous as you remember"? What with rose colored glasses and all.Quote:if DYING is too strong a word for you, then maybe "DECLINING" is a better choice.
Dude, EVERQUEST (not EQ2) is nearly twice this game's age and still going.Quote:most ppl that i know i play CoX still are not amazed im still playing this game, rather they amazed the game is even going still. -
Quote:As with politics. EVERYONE has an axe to grind. EVERYONE.Lets take the premise: The market community is protective of the status quo, and really does not argue in good faith concerning any ideas that might upset the status quo.
The neat trick is to figure out what their axe is, and present your case in such a way as to appear as a grindstone.
Thus far, the suggestions in this thread have merely attempted to simulate a rust monster. -
Quote:This is a truism though. Fine for generalities, but when you attempt to apply it with specificity, the cracks start to show.If something is not profitable then it will no longer be a priority and ultimately get the axe.
Neither of us have any idea of what NCSoft/Paragon considers "acceptable" numbers. -
Quote:Evil Hyperstrike vs UltraBatz: PWNED!yup, no auto-exemplaring in this game, I love fighting lowbies under lvl 10- woot!

Niviene is my level though- I'll get her next time! -
Quote:Because most of them are there for "Ooh! Shiny!"1. How can the greater number of people not test things the way you said in the first post?
Closed beta is about directed testing.
They don't just want "feedback" of a couple of pre-chosen choices. They're looking for "This is broken. This is what it's doing. Here's how it was tested. Here's exactly what's wrong. Here's a suggestion on how to fix it."Quote:2. Polls on forums can be a quick way to ask for feedback
You can't get that level of detail from a forum poll.
Again, quality over quantity.Quote:3. i16 Open Beta specifically said to /bug in game AND post it on the forums. I followed both instructions
They're looking for structured feedback from people who've proven they know how to supply it.
Later, they can let more people in for the hunting of more obvious bugs.
There's also the fact that in a lot of cases, early betas are NOT pretty.
CO was like that (unfortunately it didn't get much better). Giving everybody and their brother access to early beta can scare some people because they forget that this is rough code. NOT the shipping game. It can then generate lots of negative publicity for them. Then, when the polished version of the product comes out, people run away from it because of their initial impressions of the beta. -
Yes, but unlike you, I actually used complete sentences and broke it down point by point rather than stretching a paragraph or two over several dozen lines for no reason whatsoever.
And, since you've stooped to fallacious argument styles I figured a bit of stealth-editing wouldn't be beneath you. So it's better if I break down your post without paraphrasing you. This way you can't tell later that "that's not what I said".
And, I don't give a damn that other people have said essentially the same thing I've said before. *I* am saying it now. Moreover, the fact that we're in agreement should tell you something.
And I didn't ever call you a liar.
I've said some of the things you say are wrong. Or misleading. I've also said that some of the things you're talking about are naive or irrelevant.
There IS a difference.
And yes, this is OPINION. Facts have been brought in when warranted. But you've blithely ignored them for the most part with some sort of greener grass mentality.
I'm well aware of the reasons WoW is #1. A great many of them are the same reasons I don't play WoW (or any of the WoW wannabes) in the first place.Quote:WoW is number #1 for a reason.
This does not mean that everyone has to be like WoW to be successful.
This entire game is proof positive of this! 6 years ago, people thought Cryptic was nuts for not following the WoW model. Yet here we are, 6 years on. Still going. Still growing.
No, it's called "arms race". Or "monty haul". It also BADLY fragments your population. And you were griping before about lack of endgame here?Quote:its said that it was built with a cap of 150+ possible lvls. that is called forethought
What would more levels get us in this game? Never-ending power creep.
Great. We could be Superman and go play soccer with planets.
I'm not saying I wouldn't like MORE options for post-50 character development. But more levels isn't necessary in this game. At level 50, you pretty much are able to take on cosmic-level and interdimensional horrors, then go for a beer afterwards.
And, simply because people go "I want" doesn't mean it's a good idea, feasible, or even implementable. And, as with anything. A lot of different people want a lot of different things. On top of this, Paragon has to deal with the fact that the base engine for CoH isn't theirs. It's licensed from Cryptic. This, in and of itself, places constraints on them.
Yes. You have. Wanton cruelty to animals has always bothered me. Now leave the poor horse alone already. It's dead.Quote:and that i have succeeded in annoying you.
Then go play WoW.Quote:this does not bother me because the game is so ******* DEAD, mostly because, it isnt WoW.
How do you know? Oh that's right. One more uninformed statement.Quote:and in game, ill never have to deal with you
Yet you keep bringing up "facts", which are anything but, and examples, which are poorly formed, to support your opinion. THAT is what people are shooting holes in. Not your opinion. That's just collateral damage.Quote:Please know that everything ive said is by and far, and wanted/unwanted- is my opinion. i think the market sux!<---opinion!
The game isn't dying. All your proclamations to the contrary won't make it so. And you've pretty much proved that you don't know what you're talking about.Quote:the game is dieing. this is fact.
Since you don't have subscriber numbers for this game, this is another instance of you talking from your lower orifice. Requisite fecal odor included.Quote:more ppl play Asheron's Call or lol FIESTA than play this game.
Which makes no sense whatsoever.Quote:i heard you cant beat WoW, but you can sure as hell almost can!
There's already a standard response to this. I'm not even going to waste time on it.Quote:so the easiest solution would be to merge servers
Oh wow. I'm, like, so INSULTED that you went and dissed *my* game! Oh noez!Quote:I play with my CoX when i want to play something TRIVIAL, something THEMED (this i take lightly as this player base lacks any idea of concept, which is sad because this game is ALL ABOUT CONCEPT.
Please go elsewhere if you want to get into a flamefest. You don't have the requisite investment in asbestos.
Now where were we?
Oh yes. Come back when you have an actual point to make son.
