Quote:Since this is a mobile chipset and the Toshiba is a Satellite (a laptop line), I'm pretty comfortable in saying "yep".Yea, it will not let me update with that one, does that mean that I have to buy a new computer or something?
I'm sorry. If this were a desktop machine you'd have upgrade options. Since it's a laptop, your options come in two varieties.
- Slim
- None

Quote:Warshade Wednesday might be fun. However, it might have issues too. Wednesday nights on Protector are Rush The Rikti (Ship Raid) nights. After you left we also rolled over Neuron. Our low level Tank had reached level 13. And filled the team again. So all-in-all a great TT. Thanks for hosting us Protector, see ya' all the next time we stop by!

Oh, and managed to get talk of a Warshade Wednesday going (I guess we'll have to see if that takes root or not
)
Next TT is on Champion! Same Tank time, same Tank place!
Though, inundating the Rikti with about a couple dozen warshades might be fun. -
-
TT ran pretty smoothly. Only one or two deaths the whole evening (while I was able to play). Running at +2x8 at L50 with a group composed mostly of 20-30-somethings (and one guy at L4 IIRC) the Protector Panzer Division came, saw, and tanked with a full team the entire time.
CoT, Arachnos, Council, and even Carnies simply couldn't stand up to the onslaught.
Unfortunately I had to leave about an hour in. But it was nonstop fun.
Three rules for coming to Tanker Tuesday:
1: Bring a Tank
2: Show Up
3: Follow the Tank. -
Quote:Almost forgot: I can go a long time without seeing another one of those Council maps!
Yeah, really sucks for someone who's had their movement speed buffed to the point where they're WALKING at superspeed...
"Okay, we're on the map, AM up! Let's...Where'd Hyper go?"
"I'm lodged in a wall!"
*DEAD*
"Just behind the AV at the extreme far end of the map..."
"OOH!" *Cringe* -
Also,
Since next Monday IS a holiday, I'll be in a lot earlier that night than normal.
After about 2PM Central, I'll be available. So if we have any lowbies come along and need some assistance getting into level range, gimme a yell and let me know. -

Quote:Alternatively, if you have a character slot available on Freedom, there is no reason to not make a fresh Fire/Rad there. That was what I did with Therm O'Dynamic over a week ago. I made him the day before the double Posi-run and quickly got him to around 11 in time for Monday night. After that session, he was 24, and after last night, he ended at around 26 1/2.
Oh, and I think that last member of the Citadel team was Radiant Hestia (I think I spelled it right).
Thanks Willow. I should have remembered, but it was late and my brain doesn't work well when it's late anymore.
(To be frank, it just doesn't work PERIOD, but still wants good pay, since it joined the union...) -
Quote:We've been trying to keep it mostly fire/rad. But if you show up and you really want in on a team, we can usually make space.Hello everyone, I recently got back into the game after a year or so break. I created a character on Freedom after seeing that my old home of Protector was not as full as I like.
Anyways, I want to know if you guys go strictly fire/rad because this sounds like fun. I went Ill/Rad myself so part of the synergy is still there.
Illusion might be a little problematic though. It's more of a confuse/disorient based set than a hold/stun/damage set like fire.
Ah well, show up. We can always give it a try. If it doesn't mesh, we'll be honest and say so. -
-
Well, I have several tanks available to me:
Hyperstrike: Inv/SS (50)
Tectonica: Stone/Fire (41)
Brownian Cessation: Ice/Ice (25)
As such, I can pretty much take a place on any team that needs it.
I'll show up with Hyperstrike and we can decide who needs what then. -

This week. On Fire/Rads!
I have to report we didn't have a successful team.
We had TWO! We had almost a dozen people show up. So, we separated out between lower level from upper level.
Epoxy Man took the higher level group and ran through a couple missions, then took off on a Citadel with 6 players.
The lower level group went in and slapped down the Clockwork King and his army of (as per Sister Flame) "Clicky Clacks" and made them beg for the oil can.
Two small oopsies. First, I got a bit over-anxious, and summoned the other team to fight Babbage a mission too early.
Okay! I admit it! I was dropped on my head (extensively!) as a child!
So we went in and mowed down the mission in question and came back out to boot Babbage booty but good!
Oopsie #2. Apparently Babbage has either been failing to spawn, or running afoul of some nearby drones. Because he never showed.
So, on to the finish. We lost one guy to him due to early aggro. We resurrected him and proceeded to make Clocky pay for his misdeeds (in large denominations). We finished in a time of 2:24 (with the Silver timer on us).
As always, more screenshots are available in my gallery, as linked above in this thread.
Awaiting pictures from the captain of the Citadel team.
Known players from Team Synapse (Settings: +0/x8):
- Thermal Hazard
- Fork in Microwave
- Vortex Core
- Crimson Image
- Happy Scorch
- Zero Decay
- Greased Wheels
- Therm O'Dynamic
- Main Sequence
- Rubeus
- Radiant Hestia

Quote:Not that much faster.I agree with the merit count. Running both halves of the new Posi is faster than running the old one was
Run both with my Fire/Rad group.
We kicked an old Posi out in about 2 hours.
We kicked both halves of the new Posi out in about 1:45 (with a couple long pauses, and due to the fact that we've been having longer map load times). So figure an hour and a half.
Now if a buffed-to-a-fare-thee-well group of Fire/Rads does it that fast, it's still going to take a random PUG a bit longer. The group we took through beta, though a bunch of top-end, IO-like-mad exemps, took about 90 minutes for Posi1, and (if I remember correctly) about that for Posi2.
Old Posi: 66 Merits
New Posi (Both Halves): 26 Merits
The new Posi is NOT being completed in both halves twice as fast. Sorry, just ain't happening.
And, again, if they're planning merit rewards against IO'ed to-the-gills groups doing speed runs, it's a fail. -
Quote:Okay instead of simply hinting at the remaining con, can we PLEASE have the final location you guys are planning to show at spelled out?Conventions
Well officially be at Comic-Con San Diego and PAX West this year. But perhaps an even better question is: Where we will be throwing Meet and Greets? There will be 4 opportunities across the country where you can come to meet us in person, and one of them is still being decided on.
We do listen to your feedback on where youd like us to be. As I mentioned earlier, this is our first year we visited the east coast, and thats directly a result from your efforts. Even if we cannot be at your local convention, we would still like to help if possible.
Please forgive my bluntness here, but announcing it last-minute (or worse, just appearing at a con as a "surprise") is BS.
Convention season is upon us and people need time to make plans.
Going to a major convention isn't a lark for most people. It's a major financial and time commitment.
Announcing that you're going to be at [INSERTNAMEHERECON] less than a week out does NOT give people time to make plans and block out the time.
If plans for said con are still tentative SAY SO. But throw people a freaking bone here!
I'm already scheduling two Meet & Greets (Origins and GenCon). I'd very much like to NOT have plans interrupted/destroyed last-minute by you guys announcing your own event if you show at one of these. I'm sure people looking to run similar events at other cons (like DragonCon) would deeply appreciate the same consideration. -
Okay guys. This evening we'll likely be doing the Sister Psyche TF.
If, however, get have more lowbie characters, we'll do a Synapse. HOWEVER, we're going to crank the difficulty a bit (what's life without a bit of challenge?)
If we wind up pulling enough people to man two teams, we can split them up by level between two separate TFs. I know there's a few out there who haven't gotten the new Posi runs in yet.
Again, the hill in Talos. See you there. -
Post. Have fun.

Quote:On Thursday, May 20th, at 11:24pm, Samuel Christopher Bohmfalk was born! Weighing in at 7 lbs and 14 oz, 21 1/2 inches long! A few years and he'll be here learning to read and "aggressively arrest" evil doers!!!
New sidekick, YAY!
With Toxic attacks! WHOA!
And what's with the [Awww! HOW CUTE!] aura with Mag 10,000 AoE Placate? -
Okay, like the idjit I am, I completely missed this thread during the week. HOW exactly, I dunno. I'm going with SHEER STUPIDITY (and yes, it should be all in caps).
Anyhow, I logged on this evening to find people in the middle of the second bloom run and hotfooted to the Abyss.
Now I haven't done a lot of redside runs before. Mostly they've been fairly painful, EXTREMELY drawn out affairs with lots of thumb-sitting
This time went as smoothly as most of the hero runs do.
Good work guys!
At peak, there were roughly 40 people in-zone. -

Quote:Reasonable? What kind of liar told you these forums are in any way reasonable?
no one is reasonably telling the devs to CHURN OUT CONTENT ONLY CHURN OUT CONTENT SATISFY MY PRIMAL URGES
No. You just missed the main point. As Ironblade said. What about the people who leave for *INSERT REASON HERE*?Quote:you're right if you tell people that's stupid but no reasonable goddamned person keeps repeating that except for you
Getting upset or bothered by people who quit for a given reason does nothing. The best thing the devs can do is keep pushing forward as they have.
The devs already gave us a tool to generate unlimited content. Look how that turned out.
So, apparently I'm not the only one saying this. So it's not really my problem if you choose not to listen to what I say.
And the devs are delivering. Maybe not as fast as people would like. As such, some people burn through the new stuff in a day or two and then decide to leave anyhow.Quote:people'd just like a bit more content redside since its thin.
Hit shappens.
Obviously. Maybe I just need to beat a little harder and it'll eventually penetrate.Quote:so i dont understand the malfunction you keep trying to beat in.
Nah. Not worth the time. Everything I need to say I've already said. If you're slow on the uptake, that's your problem.
Hasn't anyone ever educated you to the fact that telling someone to "shut up" on the internet is both stupid and futile beyond comprehension?Quote:so give it up already. -
Quote:Okay, you said everything I tried to say, but better. What do you say about the people who stopped playing because of the changes to PvP?
What do you say about the people who stopped playing because of the AE nerfs?
What do you say about the people who stopped playing because they were told power customization was too hard?
Face it, EVERY significant change will cause someone to quit.
And every aspect that doesn't get changed fast enough to suit someone will cause them to quit.
I don't doubt for an instant that some people quit because redside doesn't have enough content.
But people quit for a thousand other reasons, too.
Which 'reason for quitting' would you like the devs to address right now?
I SO hate you....
