Yes, sorta.
1: If the "thousands of years" thing is correct, relative positioning of the Rao system would be VASTLY different than that of the positioning displacement of earth during the, shall we say, "hour" that it was turned back. If he was able to start, sooner or later the spatial displacement of the planet moving back through time would have probably tossed him out of the gravity well as the planet receded into the past.
2: If this kind of time distortion is only possibly in a gravity well of planet-size and larger, there may not have been enough left of Krypton to do this with.
3: Red sun. Superman was performing his time manipulations within the confines of a star system populated with a yellow sun, one that gave him his powers.
4: Because of 3, he probably couldn't have kept up the necessary "super" levels long enough, ESPECIALLY if the "thousands of years" thing is true. And, while the ship was more convenient, probably wouldn't have been able to keep up with stresses and power requirements laid upon it.
I could go on, but four bullet points is geeky enough. -

Quote:There's also the whole thing with the Eradicator altering Kryptonian birthing matrices as well.Well there's been numerous explanations over the years as to why Superman actually was the last survivor of Krypton. The most common element is that the Kryptonians were such a proud race and the governing body didn't want to believe that they could be destroyed so easily, so they ignored Jor-El's claims. Also, I think Jor-El was Krypton's greatest scientist, so it might have been that he was the only one who could actually verify his own data.
And in recent years I think they said something like there was a call to all Kryptonians to come back to Krypton before it exploded. I think it had to do with Brainiac attacking and stealing Kandor. They were also supposedly aware of what the various suns could do for them, but space travel was highly regulated. -
Quote:Also, we're talking relativistic speeds here.Actually, wouldn't it have taken only 2 1/2 years to reach it, then 2 1/2 years back, for a grand total of 5 years?

It was five years for "us". It may have only been weeks or months for him, depending on how fast he was going. -

Quote:Yes, Blue's fics are quite the bomb.
(That's a compliment, btw, in case local slang translates that wrong.)
Can you imagine your character being related to, say, Captain Castillo? Or Vernon von Grun? Fusionette?
"Hi, I'm Fusionette's cousin- wait, don't run away! I don't even have energy powers, and I actually PASSED my SATs! Darn it... no one ever wants to team with me."
Better yet, make a totally midget sized female character and relate her to Doc Delilah.
"Yeah... she's my aunt. I think she got all the growth genes for her generation and mine. It's a thing. If I could reinforce her hat, I'd carry it as a shield."

I actually have a toon who's well-woven with canon. She's not "related" to anyone, but she was sort of a failed dry run for the events that lead up to the creation of Terra.
Now Tectonica's a REALLY angry Stone/Fire tank. -
Quote:But how the hell can you have an all-star horror extravaganza and NOT have Christopher Lee?I refrained from adding Christopher Lee for similar reasons, once he begins work on The Hobbit, he will be too busy for anything else.
At least get him to be this film's version of "Ahnult" with a quick cameo, and that he's too busy because he needs to run off and drink some blood... -
So how'd this go guys?
-
I take it you're looking for them to take advantage of their defense loophole right?
-
Quote:Yes, yes it was. THAT made me feel super.I had no idea it went that fast.
Also, thanks for attacking the blockade of GMs at my request. That was awesome.
I came into the raid with 8 EoEs in e-mail and an empty inspie tray. By the time we got done with Monster Mash, I had 15 EoEs in tray and had stowed a couple large inspies in e-mail as well. -
18 minutes and 17 seconds! From first attack to bye-bye Hami!
18 ******* minutes and 17 ******* seconds!
Let's just say that today was AWESOME! I'm sitting here burping at my yellow and this crowd of people whizzes by and...no more yellow!
Outside of a few small organizational issues, it don't get much faster than this unless you stage a nuke raid.
To everyone that participated today, YOU KICKED BUTT! -
Well, I was sharing an apartment with my brothers at the time. I was working night shift, so I was asleep. My brother came in to wake me up.
First he said "someone bombed the WTC".
At the time, still half-asleep I told my brother "dude, you're watching the History Channel, that happened a couple years ago".
Then I hear "No! This is happening now! Planes are falling outta the sky!"
I spent the rest of the day, till I went in to work, watching the television.
I had an uncle who, by the grace of God, missed a flight to NYC and a meeting in the WTC that day.
I had friends in school in NYC that watched the entire thing happen out a window. -
Quote:Okay, for future reference. It does require that the person has some idea of what they're talking about when it comes to voicing their opinion.

I read the entire thing, and wanted to weep afterwards.
You should respect the right of others to HAVE an opinion.
You are under no obligation to respect the opinion itself. Especially when the opinion is built of naught but fluff and idiocy.
Remember they're like ***holes. Everyone's got one. And everyone's entitled to their own wrong opinion too. -
Okay, say you have an additional tray of powers open,
1, 2, 3 AND 4 (with 4 being the additional tray).
What will sometimes happen is that tray 4 (or whatever the number happens to be for the additional) will be non-responsive. It doesn't respond to clicks, it doesn't respond to keyboard presses, and CTRL+CLICK on-auto powers (like Hasten, etc) don't fire off.
I've been noticing this a LOT lately.
One of the ways to sometimes shake said additional tray loose is to slide to an adjacent tray (if it's stuck on Tray 4, change that tray to 3 or 5, then back to 4. Usually this will allow the tray to start working again. -
I have a Shield/Warmace tank with the GSA.
I also have GSA on my Sonic/Traps Corruptor.
Very nice when taking out CoT ghosts. If you can hit through all the debuffs. -
Got on my Sonic/Traps today. Dear GOD was everything running!
And I mean EVERYTHING.
I know caltrops is supposed to make enemies try to run out of caltrops, but having them book for the horizon (or down a hall and around a couple corners)? -
Quote:Thank you for the support everyone. It has been a rough time.
@AThiker, aka Steve Meyers, passed away yesterday at about 4:30 PM. He had been in the emergency room since Friday due to an infection related to the lymphoma treatment, and had been on full life support since Tuesday. He passed surrounded by family.
Hey SpaceNut. You have my condolences. Cancer's a rough way to go, both for the patient and their family.
On the bright side, your dad no longer needs to take Hover or Air Superiority as prerequisites. Heck, he doesn't even have to wait till level 6. Fly's inherent for him now.

Quote:Okay, there is no "Rogue Server".I finally got it to work..yay lol
Anyway now i have another problem, i dont want to play on the rogue server i just want to play on the original server, how do i do this? there is only 4 servers to choose from where as i remember there was a whole list of them to choose from last time, i dont fancy paying £30 just for the rogue game and then have to pay another £10 a month..
In the EU there are 4 servers, 2 english, 1 french, 1 german. They're all apparently hosted in Frankfurt Germany.
In the US, there are 11 servers, all of them apparently now hosted in Texas.
Your account type determines your starting zone choices.
IIRC, all new trial accounts start off in Praetoria (the zones with the best eye-candy).
Also IIRC, once you get your first toon out of Praetoria, you're allowed to use the Blue Side (Hero) and Red Side (Villain) starting zones as options.
Now you're usually around L20 when that happens. And trial accounts are level-locked at 14. To progress beyond that, you have to purchase the game. -
Quote:I forgot to mention that my WS is 50 already and I made him years ago. When I lvled him, I only used the Nova and Dwarf form since it was easier to use and slot. He never got a chance to use IO's when I leveled him. I did try to IO him for PvP once and it was not what I was looking for so I stripped him.
Have you tried playing with various Warshade builds in Mids much? -
Quote:Ok thanks, i thought i had done something wrong so i deleted all the files and re downloaded them,

One thing that helps, if you're on Win7, is to execute the updater with "run as administrator". Vista/Win7 can have some funny file locking issues with the updater being run in regular userspace sometimes.Quote:gonna take another 5hours until its complete i just hope it works lol, im planning to buy a subscription i just dont want to buy the sub and then not have the game work or have to wait 7hours to play the game
Quote:Im not sure if this will help but i will add it anyway, im using Windows 7, on my old laptop i used windows XP and i downloaded the US version of CoH, i live in the UK so this time i downloaded the EU version. Thats all i can think of at the moment so if i think of anything else will add it in here
Did you sign up for a CoH US account or a CoH EU account? -

Quote:Some people know me as being very pro Human Form Peacebringer and now I am looking to join the darkside and play an all human WS builds for soloing missions. I did some searching and found some old builds from Feb and March of this year. Some things have changed since then and I was wondering if anyone can throw some advice my way or post a build so I can get ideas. I did read that MF Warshade write up and it was a great read, but I was just wondering from other players what is the attack chain they use and bonuses they focused on in their builds. Thanks ahead for the help

Currently have my human-form WS in the late 40's.
Early on it was a bit painful as low-level Warshades are second-rate blasters.
But, once you're in your late 20's, there's this fairly natural progression and your effectiveness expands outrageously. Your only real kyptonite will, eventually, be enemy groups that don't leave corpses (Nictus, etc). -
Quote:Currently there's a maintenance going on. You're going to get a (relatively) small patch that needs to be applied, then you'll be able to play again. Unfortunately this means you need to wait for the download to come in and apply. This can take a while.Hey, i just downloaded the free 7 day trial of CoH, i installed it and after about 6 hours the game opended, i didnt have a chance to put in my log in details so i closed the game, a few hours later i decided i wanted to play, i couldnt find the CoH application only the CoH updater so i clicked on that and it says at the bottom 'Fixing files' etc...
It said it would take around 10hours for the download to be complete, will i have to run this everytime i want to play the game? i cant find any other applications to run CoH apart from the updater one..please help if anyone cane
If you're still having issues after that, post copies of your CoH Helper and Hijack This logs here. If you don't know how to do this, follow the link in my sig for asking for help in the forums. -

Quote:Most of these simple chat systems don't have to worry about using the ID as a unique identifier for tracking virtual "stuff" while trying to balance concerns over both privacy and accountability. But it is EASILY the case, based on very simple design.
Look, let's be realistic. Very simple... EXTREMELY... simple online chat services have been dealing with duplicate alias selection for over a decade. The most basic of these have simple design elements for moderation assistance to address complaints behavior and even intentional impersonation.
This isn't exactly new ground here.
