Honestly, given your system specs, I wouldn't bother. Just about anything you buy that's higher performance is going to have you spending extraneous money to upgrade the power supply as well.

Plus, due to the age of the base platform (P4), the performance bump will be even less pronounced.

The Iron Spidey thing. Wasn't a huge fan of it. However the whole setup for Stark locking up the armor and Peter sandbagging him by having back-doored the armor's controls? It was almost worth putting up with the whole subplot just to see Stark taken down a peg or three.

And while some people hated the unmasking. Three words describe it's crowning moment of awesome.

Incorrect. While a great number of acronyms are initialisms, there are various terms that are classified as acronyms that are actually contractions of the full term.

    CONUS, for example.

Was before my time. My SG was founded in July of '08.

Yes it does. All prestige is common to the SG and can be used for any purpose (not just paying rent).

The downside is the 500-to-1 inf-to-prestige conversion ratio is a massive ripoff.

I had Witty a bit worried a couple times as I was doing a low-damage (yeah, RIIIIGHT!) imitation of a scrapper, but the mostly S/L-EN/Neg chucking freaks we were fighting were almost zero problem. I did get accused of hogging my aggro (MY AGGRO! MINE!MINE!MINE!) a couple times.

But hey, when you can soft-cap yourself and PBAoE enemies to death...

And the new SuperStunners are somewhat problematic. Luckily, Energy Absorption still works. So they'd rez, slurp a bunch of endurance from me, and I'd steal it right back.

All in all, we came out roughly 20 seconds over the 2 hour limit.

Maybe its personal taste, but I think (personal) crafting and storage is more important than anything. It seems to be the only thing I use my base for unless Im in a hurry, then the teleporters come in handy. If Im soloing, its no big deal.
I'll just chalk it up to personal taste. Then again, I don't keep massive quantities of salvage on-hand in my base much anymore (unless it's actually a team base). Mostly because I wind up having to spend prestige for rent on stuff that just really needs to be sold.

    Quote:
the medbay is ok if you dont mind only having part of your HP & END recovered by the time you leave.
Hence the inspie storage. Usually, by the time you've glommed a few spare inspies, you're golden (at least on a larger base).

It looks now like I'm trying to do too much with too little all the time when I see such massive, elaborately decorated, and defended bases all around. I don't plan on putting defenses in (especially not right now, seeing as Base Raids aren't working, unless I'm wrong) I just want something that my SG/VG ladies and gents can enjoy, so I'm looking for some insight here from more experienced base builders.

    Necessities:

    1. Power
    2. Control
    3. Telepads to cover your "side"
    4. A medbay
    5. A crafting area

Decoration is largely what you make of it. But the bare-bones you'll need:

Now for Power and control for a full-function base with ALL the basic amenities, you can get away with the middle-tier power and control (Ley Tap/Turbine Generator and Orbits of Control/Supercomputer with some auxillary control).

    1. Power: 1,000,000 Prestige
    2. Medium Control: 500,000 Prestige
    3. Aux Control (2): 100,000 Prestige
    4. 11 Telepads: 165,000 Prestige
    5. 22 Beacons: 22,000 Prestige
    6. Reclaimator/Res Circle: 10,000 Prestige
    7. Invention Worktable: 25,000
    8. Pillar of Ice & Flame: 50,000
    9. Room Cost: 973,750
    • 100,000 Control
    • 162,500 Power
    • 100,000 Medical
    • 398,750 Transport (5x5)
    • 162,500 Transport (3x3)
    • 50,000 Workshop
(Note: Doing telepads as 2x to a room with 6 rooms would rack up 600K in room fees as opposed to 561,250)

Now this doesn't take into account the cost of the expanded base plot you'd need to fit it. I don't have time right now to factor that (it's 2 in the morning and I NEED to get to sleep), but you understand.

Pretty much anything beyond that, storage, etc is "decoration". Crafting tables can be brought in and removed as needed.

    "Nice to have" stuff.

    • Inspiration Storage in the medbay
    • Autodoc
    • Vault door
    • Raid Telepad
    • Mission Computer
    • Storage (Enhancement and Component)
    • Empowerment Station

This is probably causing you to suction-cup to your chair right now. Don't worry, the prestige comes hot and heavy later on.

Now, how much for a "functional" one-man base for someone with access to the base editor all the time? You could probably get away with a pair of telepads running off the combo unit and swap out beacons on an as-needed basis..

This is what I did when I was building Superheroes Anonymous up.

Oversight Center (Power, Control, Crafting): 50,000
    Medbay: 50,000
    TP Bay: 100,000

Combo Unit (Power and Control): 25,000 (125 Power, 75 Control)
    Telepad (1): 15,000 (-50 Power, -25 Control)
    Beacons (2): 20,000 (-10 Control)
    Invention Table: 25,000
    Reclaimator: 10,000 (-50 Power, -25 Control)

Total Cost: 295,000 (If you can pack in 15 alts or friends, you have this pretty much from the get-go).

That right there, if you have all the beacons, will get you around to pretty much any place in Paragon or the Rogue Isles. And it fits on the free, default plot.
  10. Heya Hazy. Glad to hear your Fire/Rad group is going so well!
  11. In a team situation you don't want to chuck your 'trops willy-nilly. It can split up groups and make killing them off take longer.

If the tank wants to herd, wait till they're packed around him and drop the 'trops on one side of the mob. This way they're more likely to try and flee into the rest of the mob than if you simply drop them on top of the group as a whole (which can scatter them).

  15. Sorry, but as a tank, I'm too busy smashing stuff up to worry about thinking.

Unfortunately, with an archnemesis system like you're talking about it only really works if both sides consent, are on at the same time, and want to actually stop what they're doing to go mash their opponent's face (sorry, gotta leave the Hami raid! Have to go beat down my archnemesis so he still knows I care!).

Also, how do you balance say an IO'ed-to-the-gills Brute against an SO'ed-at-best Defender?

Honestly, I believe such a system will fail due to apathy over time.

Right-click on the executable and select "Run As Administrator".

If that works, you can navigate to the executable itself, right-click and select the Compatibility tab and check the checkbox for "Run as Administrator" so it runs that way by default in the future.

Since we're talking about the old GR beta, probably. The NDA on that expired a while ago. Granted, this may or may not change for i19. Actually haven't got a clue.

With the early GR, you essentially paid to have the Incarnate slot opened. Then you had to build the enhancement for it.

I remember that a portion of the enhancement ignored ED. Something like 1/6th. So, if you were already at ED cap for recharge on a power, and added an Incarnate enhancement that was 33% Recharge (acts globally), you'd get the basic 4.25% (IIRC) or whatever you'd get as if you'd added a Level 50 Hami-O, plus 1/6th of the value (5.5%). So you'd get a bare minimum 9.75% bump to recharge for that ED-capped power (and more for those that were not ED-capped).

Again, this may have changed some.

According to scuttlebutt going around, we're going to find out in 2 weeks or so.

Actually, the Romulus Console is an ideal use of this power. Except when you want to blast holds (especially EM Pulse) on the waking Romulus Phalanx bots. As a non Fire/Rad superteam move, it's probably a Good Idea (save where mentioned above).
