Man, you just know they'll be too focused on I21 to expect them to fix any glaring exploits in less than a month...
So, i19 was supposed to have been dropping approximately 2 weeks ago now. Due to some massive bugs breaking things, they decided not to.

Now, instead of just getting those bugs that have delayed the launch fixed, they should stop working on it to create an entirely separate patch for an issue that, while exploitative, doesn't actually break the game.

    Yeah.....

They're immune from any criticism about not fixing a well known exploit over the course of a month because "You don't have their timetable!" You just say "Standard code rant" and then they can get away with anything! Got it. Ma, it must be nice to have such a blanket to hide under. Almost as good as their three week vacations!
I never said the devs were immune to criticism.

But please, continue to nerdrage on about how lazy other people are when you don't know what they're doing or even how to properly define their jobs.

So, in lieu of actual knowledge about the subject you're ranting about, you're content to just run off at the mouth.

    Okay. Good to know.

And now they are ignoring the multiple reports I'm sure they've had on this, just as it took weeks to fix the spiders and who knows how long to fix the one before that.

So really... the exploits will go on until someone in Paragon decides quality control is a priority.
Please let us know when you come up with a way to simultaneously track and correct floating values of "appropriate" across a complex database. It must come with a negative feedback loop that will prevent the programmers from inputting inappropriate data, either accidentally or on purpose. Indeed, it must be impossible for them to input any data at all unless it's been crosschecked against ALL of the several million variables in which it could occur.

The exploit's been known about for weeks. For someone else to self-righteously inform me that this is a holiday and so I shouldn't think it was disappointing that this exploit still hasn't been fixed (or maybe I just think they're all "slaves"!) showed "colossal ignorance" on his part. Feel free to let him know. Thanks!

Yes, but your colossal ignorance is from your lack of reading comprehension.

Notice the FIRST point. They're pretty much focused on i19 at the moment. While it's annoying as hell, they'd rather just push i19 with the exploit fix than backport the fix to the current code base, test it, then push it out. By the time they do that, i19 should be release-worthy.

Please keep in mind that the devs' timetable is not whatever you might imagine it should be. And as for fixing bugs and exploits you dislike RIGHT FRICKIN' NAO, please see the standard code rant.

Then come back and gripe once you actually know what you're talking about.
  5. 1: Don't worry about the psi hole. You, quite simply, are NOT going to be able to stack up enough psi res/defense to make a difference. And while the recharge is nice, if you're trying to be indestructible, go with Kinetic Combats or Smashing Haymaker to raise your S/L defense. Just the four Acc/Dam/End/Rech pieces, not the proc.

In the last 1-2 slots in the attacks, you can either go low for Pounding Slugfest and get yourself some regen boosts. Or go higher (like the Acc/Dam/* triples in Crushing Impact) to max out Acc and Damage while providing a small boost to End redux and recharge. 65% Acc, 99% Damage, 62% EndRed and Recharge.

With all the EndMod you have built in, you're wasting slots on EndRed in your toggles.

Now others may have different opinions, but you're wasting a power choice on Unstoppable. It's a ridiculously situational power with a nasty crash. As such, it's NOT going to help you survive protracted fights.

Here's the same build with a bit of KC-lovin' and with the defense SO's swapped for IOs.

Note that I've swapped in Eradication for FootStomp. It provides you with a nice boost to E/N defense and a smaller one to F/C. The only problem is that the set is somewhat short on EndRed. You COULD go with MultiStrike and get better EndRed, but your defense bonuses would be smaller.

I also stripped out EndRed on the defense powers, and the extra slot from Unstoppable. I essentially turned Boxing into a set mule.

Additionally, I converted the set of Reactive Armor in Resist Energies to Aegis (for the better boost to F/C damage. This brings your S/L down a bit, but with the other changes, still has you just above S/L softcap.

    Slot for recharge and EndMod.

Grab the PerfShifter and EffAdaptor the EM/Rech and EM/Acc/Rech.
4 Slots, 91.78% recharge and EndMod. Replacing both EM/Acc/Rech with a single EM and a Rech generic nets you an identical value.

  12. Okay got through a couple nice missions and my computer started dumping out of the game a bunch. I already have a bunch of updates and a boot-defrag scheduled for this machine tonight (had my AV false-positive on one of my WinLogon DLLs Sunday night and essentially render my system unrepairable, so I've reinstalled and I'm still getting stuff in).

As these things are going to take a while, I'm done for the night.

Sorry I wasn't able to stay longer. Was having a blast on a team where all but one of our guys had at least SOME fire component.

We DID get to put away a trio of Paladins though.
  13. Okay, seeing the H-word makes me feel a bit...

Now, there are more effective ways to deal with damage than healing.

    In order of preference:

    1. Buffs/Debuffs and Damage. Kill the enemy first. Dead enemies do no damage.
    2. Buffs/Debuffs and Defense. With enough defense, the attack misses and just does no damage.
    3. Buffs/Debuffs and Resistance. While you still may get hit, increasing resistance lowers the overall amount of damage actually taken. Sometimes reducing it to a level so trivial the hero's native regeneration barely registers it as a blip.
    4. Heal it up afterwards. The least desirable option. This means you've essentially muffed three superior methods of mitigating damage. Sure, you healed the damage afterward. That's like taping cardboard over a broken car window. It also effectively limits the range of your teammates if they can't leave your general presence without croaking.
  14. I've run or co-run the M&G's at Origins and GenCon for the past two years (and I'll probably be doing it again this coming year). Also been to one of the Chicago M&G's put on by Shecky (had to bow out of the one this year due to sh...shenanigans...at work). Met a bunch of people who play the game. And have met a couple of people on my own personal friends/gfriends list.

LOADS of fun to gab with people about all the little nice (and sometimes not-so-nice things in the game).
  15. Okay guys, due to some personal scheduling, I'm not going to make it for 7PM Eastern.

If you guys still want to meet up at this point and start, feel free. I'll be back and ready to roast at 9PM Eastern.

  17. Okay, I can only really echo Father's reply.

As to buy now or wait.

Normally, as has been said, something better is ALWAYS around the corner.

Even so, you're less than a week away from Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals. I'd say that's a small enough window that you could get by with waiting a couple days to see if prices nosedive a bit.
  18. Then there's the Logitech G13 as well.

As someone else said, wish they made the damn things right-handed. I'm ambidextrous, but I still use a keyboard and mouse like a right-hander. Plus the way my desk is built and situated, I wouldn't have space for it.
  19. My main started out life with the Flight pool.
During the respec into his defense cap build, he went SJ instead due to the problems of Foot Stomp and flight being mutually exclusive. However, dealing the lousy aesthetics of Huge body type and the Raptor pack is probably going to push me into grabbing at Hover and Fly. If nothing else, Hover will simply contribute to an even higher set of defense numbers for me.
  20. Okay, went to go level up and buy a few more items for my scrapper. So I go digging into Melee recipes. All that came up were the PVP IOs and one Touch of Death Proc.

    !?!?!?!?!?

Okay, I KNOW the market hasn't been stripped THAT bare.

I try to refresh. No dice. I switch off and back. No dice.

So I un-check "For Sale". I get the full listing. So I pop open a couple that have stuff actually for sale. Yep. Stuff there!

So I flip "For Sale" back on and still getting the PVP IOs, the ToD proc, and now the ones with stuff for sale that I just opened.

Flipping through other things, I'm getting purples showing, but nothing else unless I specifically hit individual recipes in sets.

Not sure what's going on. And it's not the market just being laggy in throwing stuff up. Sitting there for 10 minutes flipping back and forth between things and having stuff pop up immediately but not showing everything, even when allowing it to sit on a class of recipe for 5+ minutes is not lag.

Also, narrowing the level range doesn't help either.
  21. Here's a really brute-force S/L/E/N capped build. Damage generally sucks and it could probably be better optimized, but I was just chucking it together at random.

Note: The two extra slots each in brawl and sprint are for Health and Stamina post i19.

Now, one other thing you could do to shore this up a bit more (pre-incarnate) is a few Enzyme Exposures. Due to the way they function, they'd not only cut your endurance costs, but give you a NICE defense boost, in addition to the small To Hit boost in Invincibility.

Unfortunately, because of the loophole they exploit, these suckers are EX-PEN-SIVE.

  22. Not our finest moment tonight...

But no biggie. The problem is a small organizational issue we hadn't encountered before and that we'll have overcome by next run.

I want to thank all the tanks and brutes on the yellow aggro team. You hung in there an INCREDIBLE amount of time. I'm sorry as hell that we weren't able to complete. Please come back for our next one and we'll make it up to you by showing you how it normally goes. Your biggest problem will be wondering what to do with the rest of your evening.

And to our new guy, damn fine tanking!
  23. Hyperstrike

And yes, I'm doing this entirely because I enjoy the pun.
I'd be up for this. Only caveat is that I'd have to dive if it overlaps STF night. But if it's during the day or early evening, I'm down.
