Okay. Sorry to hear how aggravating it has been for you.
Oddly enough, had an aggravating incident on my Fire/Fire blaster as well. Most of the runs I've taken through the Trapdoor mission, I've been able to get him into the lava and keep him there.
With my blaster, for some reason, he'd stand there for a couple seconds, take some damage, then turn and run like a jackrabbit. Pulling him to the hall was no help because I was a squishy blaster and even with 4 purples he'd two-shot me. Was the damnedest thing. After over a dozen runs into the mission, I was spitting and cursing like a sailor.
Finally fed up, I had a friend come in-mish with me and we spanked him in about a minute.
Now this is not saying teaming is required. It isn't. Just that, sometimes, teaming just makes it easier or more straightforward. -

Willing to bet that it's due to the quantity of bombs being laid and the fact that the game interface quite simply couldn't take that much simultaneous input.

If it was the other way around, some jack*** would sell his soul to Mephisto and we'd get Issue 666 (Stupid Retcon!)

Quote:Depends on how shallow and easily (and quickly) fixed the bug is.There is an ***load of bugs that should've been addressed before all the Tip mission stuff.
A patch was coming out Tuesday, period. So the crammed all the stuff they could fix before them into this patch. The more serious stuff that takes longer will come out on a subsequent Patch Tuesday.
Moreover, you have multiple groups of people contributing to the patches.
Note that you don't put your storyline people to work writing code to fix toggle-drop bugs and the like. -
Quote:First off. Take your Ritalin Garth!I am disgusted with it already did 8 of my 40 50s to incarnate availiable.
I cant stand it anymore its horrible i am so sick of it now i cant stand it.
Seriously, relax a bit.
You're approximately 8 days out from the drop of the Issue.
You have people with 3, 4, 5, and 6 years worth of play time and SERVERS FULL OF 50's with something new to do.
And you're one of them. So you're pounding hard on these new things to do. Because you want the nice stuff too.
It's not wrong, or bad or ab(bie?)normal. But it's not "forced" either.
Also note you're only dealing with the first HALF of a new 10-tier system.
Take it GRADUALLY. Trying to cram all your 50's into Incarnate in a 1-2 week period is GOING to lead to burnout. Start with the ones you actually play regularly. Then get the other ones when you have a few "slow" moments with the game.Quote:I now worry what will happen to the ones i dont make incarnate when ther is a teir 3,4,5,6,7 etc...
As such, it'll be less job-ish.
Again, the TFs are NOT forced. You can mish along on L50 toons and still pick up everything you need to craft Incarnate boosts.Quote:I think that one way to incarnate and the forced tfs are a bust. It was ok for one or two or three toons but I got toons on severs that are dead so i only did the ones like most.
See above.Quote:But what about the ones i play less on slow servers? They are done? should i respec now? pull off the good stuff?
Again, take ye olde chill pill. Flipping out about this accomplishes nothing but getting froth all over everyone.Quote:i DONT THINK FARMING IS THE ANSWERE!!!
That's essentially what a TF is. An arc. Moreover, you get random shard drops for killing L50 enemies. Both in TFs and in regular play. You even get them during Rikti and Zombie raids.Quote:perhaps a shard reward should be at the end of an arc?
That'd be a neat trick for a 50.Quote:perhaps a shard shoudl drop when we lvl
Again, this is level-gated content. You HAVE to be 50 to start the arc.
Shards do drop randomly when you kill L50+ enemies.Quote:perhaps a shard drop should occur when we get a pvp kill 1/10 /125 1/100 or 1/200
Fairly certain you can get drops against GM's, as they're non-level enemies like Invasion Rikti and Zombies. Again, all RNG-influenced of course.Quote:perhaps a shard should drop when we kill a gm or finish the other tfs posi, numina etc...
As for Posi and non-50 TFs. The point of the Incarnate system was to push you to the harder content in the game.
Then don't do it. Slow down a bit and alt again for a while.Quote:this is killing me this nonstop itfs, lrsf, stf, lgsf etc.....
Come back to it when you're ready.

Had AVG eat a couple of my DLLs in XP-64 a few weeks back. Unrestorable. Cue emergency upgrade to Win7 Ultimate 64-bit.
So far, few problems. -
Bah! When my boss plays and needs giant rats, he gets REAL ones. The office pets.
Yeah, they might nibble on the counters a bit, pee all over everything, and try to climb someone, looking for some food. But hey! VERISIMULTUDE KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES! -
Quote:Because "That *BLEEP!*BLEEP!*BLEEP!*BLEEP!*BLEEP!*BLEEP!*BLEEP!* BLEEP!* Hell Hole" just doesn't have quite the same je ne sais quoi.It always seemed like an odd name for the center of an evil organization...
That and it makes printing placenames on travel brochures cheaper... -
Quote:That is a great pic Jack. I'd like to post mine but for some reason when I hit print screen then go to my paint program and paste it the whole thing just comes out black with no pic. PrtScrn button works when I'm outside of CoH on the internet tho. I think it may be cuz I have windows7 on my cpu or something I will have to look into this.
This is a known issue. You have two options.
1: You can use the Snipping Tool (Start/All Programs Accessories)
2: You can fish a working screenshot out of the Screenshots folder in your City of Heroes folder. CoH still snags the screenshot properly when you hit Print Screen. It's just that Win7 doesn't save it to the clipboard properly anymore. -

Quote:The accuracy nerf to purple drops are costing too much endurance in AE, which has completely wrecked PvP. Furthermore, now that no one plays tankers anymore because brutes can go to blue side, flippers have made it impossible to buy any recipes useful to stalkers, who can't go on TFs because they have too much single target damage. Unfortunately, because AE babies don't know how to access the new content without a server merge, CoH is doomed to buy Going Rogue, and badgers are spamming Atlas Park with questions about how to get to the ferry. The new Ultra Mode graphics are preventing people with Storm Summoning from getting on teams which is a problem because knockback is the best mitigation other than intangibility, unless you are fighting enemies with redraw.
p.s.: Also, the forums have no sense of humor.

As others have said, random is random.
Still, took my corruptor on a pair of Hami raids a couple days ago and boom, respec.
Second one I've ever gotten.
200 mil. SCHWING!
More grist for the respec/buff mill. -
Okay, tanked tower-buffed LR on more than a few occasions. It REALLY helps to start off defense-capped. You're still running a more or less bog-standard Inv/SS tank. So your defense with 1 enemy in range is about 30%. Translation: Recluse finishes you, burps, then goes after the other 7 snacks on the map.
You're going to need to bring a bunch of purples with, and get your defense between 70 and 75%. And please note, even then, the RNG isn't always kind. He pimp-slapped my Stoner through 80% defense a few weeks back and killed me.
First things first though. Take a look at CMA's guide to soft-capping Inv/*.
Next, get your team to put every buff known to man on you before going out to hokey-pokey with Richter. And bring purples. If your defenses are NOT in the 70% range until the red and blue towers are down, you're going to be smootching floor unless you're STUPIDLY lucky.
And if you're that lucky, you damn well better be playing the lottery! -
Quote:No, you didn't come off as rant-ish.First this is not a rant. I like to new system, and eagerly await more!
Okay, please keep in mind that we're approximately a week out from the Issue drop. Give all the people with umpty-jillion 50's a little time to incarnate them all appropriately. Once the shiny new-ish smell wears off, and everyone's got the nice stuff, we'll see a lot more alting on lowbies again.Quote:I see a disturbing trend happening since the launch of i19. Now I know that a lot of this is simply because our high end characters have a new goal to shoot for, which is awesome.
But I have noticed that the lower level players/newbies are having a difficult time starting tf's at their level. I am not immune to this either. I have found myself looking at the various chat channels I belong with; ignoring the request to do a manti, or posi simply to get the high end content for the incarnate shards.
Again, give it time. I wouldn't make any calls about this until after the new year.Quote:I feel this is creating some alienation between the older community and the younger one and believe to help stop this, it would be better to at least let the common shard drops happen for those that have completed the Alpha arc at the same drop rate they are now at. -

Quote:What part about "mission bugged, devs fixed" was unclear?Ahhhh think this another case of the oh no this hero respec is too hard, waves spawn too quickly they need to be slowed down.
Soon we will be at the stage when the only ambush we will get is a solo Rikti Monkey charging at us in a 8 man team.
If people cannot Learn to play do not punish the ones that do.
I've seen people mention raise the difficulty, but why has it got to be the ones that learn to play all the time that have to adjust things, hmm let the ones who can't play have a turn.
P.S. for all you that find the game hard, if you hit the Space-bar you jump.
As for "skill" at play, exactly how hard is it to take an IO'ed-to-a-fare-thee-well toon through most stuff? If you call that "skill" great, fine and wonderful. I'll just proceed to laugh at you.
This was about a mission that was dropping multiple spawns of Malta, with each spawn containing a sapper, nearly simultaneously. While it's not a guaranteed death sentence, for a toon with lower damage outputs and few defenses, it essentially is the same thing.
Most of the content in the game, barring stuff specifically labeled as "team content" or "Incarnate" should be reasonably able to be completed by an SO'ed toon with a few well chosen inspies at default difficulty.
Having three or four sappers spawn on top of an SO'ed defender is not "reasonable".
Yes, you can drop the mission.
Yes, you can snag a team to do the mish.
Not.
The.
Point.
As for why "skilled" players must up the diff?
Seriously?
Howsabout we just chuck you, naked, into EVE or something similar. -
Quote:Nah, the right one's just as huge. You're kidding, right? That's the second most outrageous thing I've read in this thread yet. Seriously, I've never even HEARD of something this preposterous.
How do you SIT long enough to even play CoH when the left side of your butt is larger than the right?
You've heard the term "working my *** off"?
Unfortunately for me, I still got a LOT of *** left back there. So I should be employed for at least a couple millennia.
