There are three possibilities that come to mind.
1: Someone uninstalled it (accidentally or intentionally).
2: One of your Windows patches bolloxed it up.
3: You've tried a beta driver at some time in the past. A while back one of ATI's beta drivers was known to completely destroy the Catalyst Control. -

One place where Nova really shines at low levels is caves. On my first PB I went human-form, it was sometimes agonizing how squishy he seemed running content in the Hollows. On teams he was way more fun due to spread aggro and CB. But still. H
e was stuck in his mid 30's due to how painful he was to play. Darned near became my first deletion.
Then I took another PB on and went Nova. Just to see what it was like. Dear LORD it was so much easier.
Remember, for most low level enemies, they have a ranged attack that deals significantly less damage than their melee attacks (trolls in particular). You just go up and smootch ceiling and blast and blast and blast (and blast and blast and blast!) and stuff just...goes away. Keep a couple greens on you just in case.
After rapidly getting that second PB into the early 20's, I went back and respec'ed my original for tri-form and have been VERY happy since. -
Stick a bunch of reds and yellows in e-mail, eat a bunch of purples, and then just bypass her mobs. Beat on her while retrieving your yellows and reds, eat em, and beat her down.

Quote:Agreed.Fixed.
This turns the encounter from something that offers a variety of strategies for different characters into yet another big bag of hit points you have to outgun. Boring. This is a terrible idea.
"Complete this mission?" Yes.
So my blasterers and defenders and controllers are just supposed to stand there and trade punches with him like they were tanks?
**** THAT NOISE. -
Quote:Been working with CoH Support on this for a month now. I've pointed them to the Tech forums, to show it's not an isolated issue. This is getting irritating.
You're telling me. I was actually fine until i19 dropped. Now, I never know exactly when I'm going to crash and burn. Zoning, walking along, in combat, teleporting, JUST FRICKING STANDING THERE and BOOM.
It also doesn't help that the damn crash dump can't actually send anything out when it comes up (which is only about half the time). -

Okay, said this in another thread. People using both ATI and nVidia drivers are reporting greater-than-usual crash frequency since i19.
It's POSSIBLE it's a driver issue, but the platform-agnostic nature of the problem leads me to believe there's something crufty in the game itself that requires a bit of tweaking. -
I have a GTX260 as well and I'm having an inordinate amount of crashes as well. PLUS I'm getting occasional screen freezes with ugly sound-burp/buzz as well.
But we're not alone. People on the ATI side are reporting an inordinate amount of crashes too.
While I'd LOVE to blame it on drivers and such, I kinda doubt it with the frequency and platform-agnostic nature of the crashing. -
I've pulled shards from multiple Rikti invasions already. I see no reason to think that it'd be otherwise for the other two events.

Quote:Again, the only reason you can "buy" them with Vanguard Merits is because the Mothership Raid doesn't have a "finish award" like a Hami Raid does (and it'd probably be a major hassle instituting one). So they give you a way to get a 4-shard (equivallent) reward out of the raid anyhow (on top of any random shard drops).Personally I have some characters with more than 1000 reward merits and when I discovered i could BUY a Gr'ai Matter with my Vanguard Merits my first thought was "Why can't I buy something with the regular ones?" Put the same time limit of 18 hours on it and limit it to one type and it wouldn't be any different than what we have now at the Vanguard base.

Okay let me try to distill what I was trying to say down to it's simplest form. Since people are taking rock-hammers to the examples and missing the basic point.
1: Simply because the devs say "no" (however often or emphatically is NOT a reason not to ask.
2: This being said, I agree with the devs (and everyone who's replied to me) that in this case, NOT allowing "total respecs" is a Good Thing<TM>. For many of the other reasons put forth in this thread (and in many others).
I just don't want people falling into the trap of "Thus Sayeth The Lord" and "Once said, it's immutable" with the addendum (spoken or implied) of "so shut up about it". The devs are human. They can opt to change their minds at a later date.
And responding to arguments from this POV is the worst form of sloppy "thinking". Because there's no actual "thought" going into it at that point for the response. -
Quote:This line of argument was partially valid. However, it's been wrong in the past.Really? That seems like a pretty good argument to me. The devs have repeatedly and emphatically said no to this idea. And it's their game. Every lead this game has had has said no to the idea. They're not going to put it in.
That's kind of like saying "Just because the boss said we shouldn't drink on the job isn't a good reason not to do it."
"We're not going to merge the markets."
"We're merging the markets."
There was also the near-fiasco with price refactoring of base items a few issues ago when we were told flat-out that if we wanted to realize the savings we'd have to tear our bases down.
Simply because the devs say "no", even repeatedly, not to mention emphatically, is not always a valid reason to discontinue asking.
Granted, in this case, I'm against "full respecs" for many of the reasons stated above and I seriously doubt the issue will be be revisited for feasibility any time soon. -
Quote:Is there anyway to beat these with a blaster.
I am running Acrobatics Combat Jumping with 45 s/l/e and still having a hard time with sleeps and stuns. This of drops my defense and I die.
Trying to keep up with a electric shield scrapper and this requires me to get there before he does.

Quote:Do we really need half a dozen merit vendors per zone, sometimes so close to each other they might as well pass the time by brawling?
Kill them. All of them. Each and every one. Replace them with NPCs that are already frequently visited, accessible and thematically fitting, like, oh, trainers. Add a dialogue option saying something along the lines of "I would like trade in my merits" and voila, the problem of the random costume button victim overpopulation is solved.
I think part of the reason they created multiple merit vendors is so they prevent lag-inducing "gathering points" like the markets are.
Granted, merits don't run as freely as Inf does. But still. -

Quote:From an RP perspective, you gather Vanguard merits out in the "real world" by beating the crap outta Rikti, protecting the world. AE is just a game.I didn't till just now realize that you can get a Gr'ai Matter incarnate component every 18 hours with Vanguard merits. This component is equal to 4 incarnate shards and is purchasable with 150 Vanguard Merits.
This makes me wonder why something similar is not doable with MA tickets. I know, I know people will say "but WN if you make it so you can get incarnate stuff in MA it will get abused!". In my opinion, no more or less so than Vanguard Merits if you put the same restrictions of a time limit to how often you can turn them in and make the cost high enough. Honestly, I think 18 hours is a bit short and would not mind seeing 48 hours or even 72.
OK, let me have it.....
WN
And because there's no mechanism for awarding a "completion" drop for a mothership raid the way there is for a Hami raid. That's why you're allowed to "purchase" the Gr'ai Matter, instead of merely being awarded it.
Translation: You don't become a god by beating up a game. -
Quote:It makes sense thematically the same way that the Vanguard is cross-faction. And pragmatically, it'd allow for a larger pool of toons and players to participate. And personally, since I don't play blue-side it would give me a chance to finally do a Hami
They're already cross-faction. Go Rogue/Vigilante and you can participate on both sides.
