Can we get current specs on your computer?
Make, model, OS, etc.
Power Supply Rating if you can find it. -
Quote:Almost every set has little "gotchas" that people don't like.Yes, Hyper, I use Taunt, and Judgment, and Sands while I have my Rage crash, and it's less of a lull, but a lot of times it's still a lull. If I'm soloing, and the enemies are in melee range, why would I use Taunt? Simply to have "something to do?" That's not right.
Stone-Granite makes you slower than molasses in January (pre-global warming mind you!) and takes a huge chunk out of your already *meh* damage potential.
Taunting keeps the enemy in range and keeps the aggro FIRMLY locked on you. If you're soloing this is important because, especially if you're running around def-capped, enemies are going to miss a LOT and eventually do the "run away" thing. Having a few seconds of crap damage sucks. Yeah. Having to chase runners all over the fargin' map? That's a 50,000 megawatt Hoover.
Spamming Jab keeps your resist debuff active, contributing to overall team damage output.
Also, it's always possible to come up with a corner case for "why X, Y or Z are totally pointless". -
Okay, some dumb questions.
Why the hell are you putting HO Ribosomes in Radiation Infection?
Also, your build has NO AoE holds. None.
Okay, Bonfire with the KD proc is NICE. But it sure as **** ain't THAT nice!
I'd economize a bit.
Maybe something like this:

Sorry if this side-tracks. But the first thing I thought when I saw the thread title was "Leave Britney Alone!"
Does this make me a bad person? -

AHHHHHHHH!
Unresistable pools of autohit numbers-typed damage! With "whole map" radius (both horizontally and vertically).

"Their position in the damage hierarchy"?
Seriously?
Damage ranking iz srs bzns? -

Collecting on your decision? Good frickin' luck.

Actually X used to be a real film rating.
Triple-X was never a film rating. It was a marketing gimmick. -

Quote:A task force of six Batmans could never happen.A task force of six Batmans would be stupid. He's THE Dark Knight, not "Hey, it's one of those Dark Knight guys."
Why?
Because the minute the notion of a TF came up, they'd all inform you that there's already been a joint strike operation that eliminated the threat by undermining all the support structures in place, causing the alliance to fall apart, making them all easier pickings than taking a level 50 T4'ed-to-the-gills, IO'ed-to-a-fare-thee-well, Incarnate toon into a -1x0 level 1 mission. -
Okay, just got back myself.
The storyline has been much condensed, as have several sets of characters.
There's also been changes to the action style to accommodate Len Wiseman's motion picture combat style (including a more humanized "drop and walk" for the most obvious person).
That and because it's more of a stretch to believe that Colin Farrel can toss grown men around like teddy bears the way a Schwarzenegger character could. Less raw brute force and more "dirty" fighting.
They had a few of the callbacks to the original film ( 1..2.., How long are you staying? )

Quote:SS doesn't go from trash to WTF due to one power. It goes from trash to nice with one power. It goes from trash to WTF need with the right defense set, power pool, and IOs.
He's basically talking about flat out damage potential.
One application of Rage takes you from a *meh* to a *decent* powerset.
Stacking is where Rage takes SS into *OMGWTFBBQSOSTRONGWHERESPRETTY?* range.
To be fair, pre-Incarnates, Rage stacking was somewhat limited unless you jacked your build around a lot.
Now you can do things like this:

Quote:The thing is, Rage also affects Ancillary/Epic pool powers as well. The fact that it hasn't been nerfed after NUMEROUS looks pretty much states this is WAI.Hmmm...
Tanker Rage: +20% ToHit, +80% DMG
Why not go the route of turn it into a Passive +10% ToHit and +70% DMG, while increasing Super Strengths base damage by an additional 50-70%?
Then it's instant perma!
Mind you, I think Super Strength is fine as is, most complaints about SS are based more around what SS with Rage can do when combined with 1 Defense set and a Pool Power
Also if they increased it's base damage wouldn't they need to adjust the attacks END or RCH if not both the END/RCH?
In some cases, this is no small amount of damage being amplified. -

Quote:Representative of the players who are West Coast residents and/or the well-heeled and rabid fans who can afford to make the trip, maybe.
I wish they could afford to do these all over the country (or even the world), but I'm not willing to pay monthly fees of $39.95 to make THAT a reality either.
You want to listen to well-heeled clients. They're in a position to throw large sums of cash your way.
You want to listen to clients rabid enough to make cross-country treks to give input. Even if the input is bad or dumb. Keeping players like this involved brings money your way.
You want to listen to local clients. They know where you live and may own powerful firearms.
This way lies common sense.

Quote:Yeah it's a pain in the butt. But, with enough recharge, and you don't really notice. If they "go away" you simply resummon, buff, and continue butt-kickery.Thanks a million for the help. I am still thinking what i should do. I must say you are right, it can be a real PIA to keep the little critters alive. I wish they would allow us to controll them better .... ( aren't we called controllers?)
Outside of Hot Feet, they're a major contributor to your damage output.
So think carefully before excising them from your build.
As for Most Amazing's preference for lots of S/L defense, the problem I've run into is that it doesn't cover you from ranged alphas really well. My previous build was S/L softcapped and I was getting spanked by non-S/L ranged attacks on a semi-regular basis.
Due to server and network latency, your controls don't always immediately seize hold of enemies before they can get attacks off. So you get goofy situations like groups launching off alphas as your stuns/holds/etc take effect.
Also, you've run into the "two groups bunched up in an area", like the bottom of the tunnel in the Midnighter "rescue Argot Bur Wot" map. You can have groups of a size that exceeds your targeting cap. Which can be REALLY dangerous if you're running at high difficulty.
I've found that a balance of S/L and Ranged works a lot better (for me at least) than simply loading up on S/L. -

Arnold's big schtick was "Hey! Look! Arnold Schwarzenegger!"

Quote:Thing is, you have multiple power sets out there with "set defining" powers.Highlights what I MEAN when I say I think Rage is just to good. Going from trash, to wtfmadness, due to ONE power? How about plant control without SoC? Would not be trash..but nothing like what it is, with it.
Grav with Singy.
Kin with Fulcrum Shift.
Stone Armor with Granite.
Illusion with PA
Under normal circumstances, Rage "normalizes" SS. With high-recharge builds, double-rage becomes a viable, sustainable state and ONLY then does the set become OMGWTFBBQOP'ed.
But is it more OP'ed than Perma PA?
Or an SOA running double Leadership toggles? -
What "tower"?
- Build plexiglass enclosure
- Fill with fluorinert
- Refrigerate
- Assemble components
- Drop motherboard assembly into fluorinert
- Seal enclosure
- Power on.
Anyhow, the Ripjaws memory you specified SHOULD be low-profile enough that the cooler won't be problematic.
If it is, just mount the cooler backwards so the fan's on the opposite side and pulling rather than pushing.
Less optimal, but still workable.
