Quote:Spelling and grammar are one thing.Spelling/grammar on these forums are the least thing I worry about. This aint English class nor am I getting paid for it. So it's irrelevant to me. If the point is gotten across then it's good. If not then maybe it wasnt meant for that particular reader to understand.
GiantTestWallO'DOOM is another.
If you're actually looking for information or a discussion on a topic, whanging someone in the face with a Wall cuts down on your chances of getting a decent response. Simply because nobody wants to take the effort and time to parse the information out of the mess. -
You have storage space.
It's called an "alt".
It's ESPECIALLY useful if you have purchased all the storage enhancements. -
Quote:I would love to see this change. It would free up a power pick on all of my 50s and make build planing easier.
Which is why don't think we are going to. If the current "Cost of Entrance" to Tough/Weave is a wasted power pick and people, lots of people, are still willing to pay that to get those powers I don't think their going to remove that "cost".
Yes. No. Maybe.
They essentially did the same thing with travel powers.
This wouldn't mean much for people looking for the third tier powers as they'd still need two power picks.
Granted, if you want Weave, you're getting Boxing or Kick.
But if you just wanted/needed Tough... -
Yeah, I'd love to get Hyperstrike. But I don't think Layla's doing body pillow sized dolls.

You are a disturbed indivudual!
LOVE IT! -
Quote:Uh yeah. NO!A character with just SO's needs to be able to solo the content that players with purple IO's also solos.
the devs worked around this with the +4/x8 difficulty, but even that is too easy for some and impossible for others.
Simply because an IO'ed-to-a-fare-thee-well toon can nuke down +4x8 doesn't mean every build should, or that baseline SOs should.
Baseline SOs should allow you to complete content on +0x1 with bosses on, and have the bosses be somewhat challenging.
Nobody ever promised you that your SO'ed toon was going to be able to solo multiple AVs simultaneously.
Is the power gap between crazily IO'ed up toons and SO'd toons with identical slot-outs relatively huge?
YES!
AS IT SHOULD BE.
Quote:The problem is more the lower non-incarnate game where the gap between invention and non-invention builds is getting huge, and a problem with powerset saturation where regardless of how powerful the enemies are, specific advantages different sets are supposed to have over other sets are being saturated away by the huge power in the invention system and incarnate power trees.
I disagree that someone sporting a "luxury" build that's been min-maxed within an inch of its life in any way detracts from an SO build's ability to run normal content. -
We need a cameo by the Hemp Knight and Chronic in there as well!
-
While it'd probably be a flat, lifeless wreck of a movie, it'd probably STILL make bank based on testosterone poisoned geekboys.
Too bad Megan has already pretty much nixed the idea and said something to the effect that she didn't identify with the character at all. -
Quote:Sorry about the lag between your post and my response. Thanks for all your help guys, and Hyperstrike you really managed to squeeze everything outta that build. From what I'm seeing I only really need to build on defense on not worry about any resistances right? and for Chilling Embrance, for the pacing the turtle enhancements with the Chance of -Recharge, does that work very well? just wondering.
Well I'm off to take your suggestions and work my build again.
Yeah. I tend to min-max fairly hard...
You should see me pinch pennies. If Abe had room to breathe, he'd be screaming...
Ice is a primarily defense-based set. And, currently, it's VERY difficult to IO-out for additional resistance, as the resistance values on various sets are microscopic. This may change with the IO-set changes coming in i24. But, for now, that's how things stand.
Ice has 2 main things going for it.
- High defense
- Moderate combat control (Slows and endurance drains, limiting an attacker's ability to attack).
So you may want to think about cutting back on all-out defense (you're essentially hedging against debuffs at that point, and that's kinda what you have Energy Absorption for) and look at maybe adding some recharge or beefing up some of your higher attacks that are begging for slots.
Note: In your build, Foot Stomp and Icicles: Go with the following Erads.
- Dam/Rech
- Acc/Dam/Rech
- Acc/Dam/End/Rech.

His rant basically comes down to:
"I like this game. Anyone who doesn't play it the same way I do doesn't like this game and are freebie-grubbing mouth-breathers or newbs with whom I don't want to associate"
He's completely ignored the social aspect of the game and is entrenched in his little "clubhouse" mentality. He's just choosing to blame F2P, rather than his clubhouse mentality. And he'll do the same thing when he, and others like him, actively chase away people with their craptastic attitude and rude behavior. -
Quote:Since we live in a F2P(free-to-play) world here, I found this repose to be a good expression of the feeling many have about the system.

Quote:Theres Nothing to Steal: Why Everyone Hates the Free-to-Play Switch
Obviously "everyone" doesn't "hate" the F2P switch.
Refuses to talk to F2Players.
Makes fun of players with avatar styles he doesn't like.
Makes fun of players asking "stupid" questions.
Ah! He's a PVPer!
Talks about "hardcore gamers".
Yep. The person is a stupid gamesnob.
I know this type of self-important, socially retarded ********* all too well. -
Oh lord! We need a guest star by Hugh Jackman just so we can see Bruiser toss him through a couple walls.
Hell, I'd pay money to go to a theater and see a 5 minute short of that! -
Quote:Agreed. However that's still an iffy proposition. You're basically gambling that incoming damage won't be enough to kill you.I disagree and reason why this game has one variable most others don't, hitpoint regeneration. The combination of Hitpoint regeneration + Resistance can create an immortality line that can be mathematically shown to where if DPS less then or equal to the combination of Regen + Resistance, you will be unkillable.
That's still not superior to total avoidance of damage.
Note: I'm not saying that defense is just flat out better to the point you can ignore resistance and regen. It's not, because it's a ruthlessly binary situation. You either get hit or you don't.
However, as a form of damage mitigation, defense (complete damage avoidance) is basically your first, best choice.
Resistance (incomplete damage avoidance, damage fractionalization) is an important, but definitely secondary, mitigation.
Regeneration/Healing is a very distant third, because it isn't actually "mitigation". It's a essentially spackling over damage you failed to avoid. -
Did this mission on my Ill/Rad a month or two ago.
The only part I really objected to was the EBs spawning right atop you at the end of the escort phase.
Sorry, but that's just dirty pool, I don't give a damn if it's a team-oriented mission or not.
I was able to rez and beat the spawn down, but the fact that I was killed by something spawning in immediately BEHIND me almost before I even register its presence is just bovine feces.
Plain and simple. -
Quote:Why? We have been building for defense for years, its time we make resist equal.
Never gonna happen...
Completely avoiding damage is ALWAYS going to best actually taking damage, no matter how much you fractionalize it.
I understand your basic desire. Allow for tanks that currently CAN'T add on a lot of resistance to be able to do so. So defense-centric tanks can achieve a parity in overall durability to resistance-based tanks that get loaded up with defense. -
-
And we had a team complete a +2 Sutter Task Force with 7 tanks.
And yes, while SOME of the most dangerous words in the world are "Offended Young Girl", the three most dangerous words in the world are:
"Hey! Watch this!"
And OYG is now wanted for Geneva Convention violations after dropping a Chemical payload, then a Nuclear payload from Warburg rockets.
Her teammates applauded her quick thinking in bringing to use overwhelming force against the miscreant Durays. They pronounced themselves quite happy with her "Bombs Away Lemay" solution.
The Colonels Duray?
Not so much...
JUST missed the 1 hour timer (about 2 and a half minutes).
Heck, there was actually a Paladin waiting for the TT event tonight!
Hopefully I'll see some of you next week. I'll pop in for the event opener. But I'm going to be in Indianapolis for GenCon and running the full event that night is a real no-can-do-ski.
If any of you are hitting up GenCon, I hope to see you at the Meet and Greet on Saturday night. We're going to have Clockwork01 in attendance. HE BRING THE SCHWAG! So be nice to him! -
Well, when someone makes you 1.4 *Sagan*BEE-LEE-YUN*/Sagan* dollars in one movie.
Well, you don't **** where you live. -
WOO!
And I doth repeat WOO!
