Not necessarily that the person would get mod/admin privs on the board. Just that their name would turn red.

Then again, some of the people here (whistles innocently) are rather...high strung. Seeing some of the people here turn red for a day would probably cause a loss of repeat business for NCSoft as a goodly number of people would die when their heads 'asploded.

Think about it, you're sitting there, minding your own business then you see that *Insert Name* has become a redname. You feel the pressure build then:

That kinda thing could ruin someone's whole day...

My system manager reports that almost 25% of my system resources are going towards Firefox when I try to use the scroll wheel on the forums. Looking at the usage graph, three procs remain unused while the fourth one goes ballistic trying to crunch all the data apparently required to scroll down a page length >_>

I should also note that if i don't go to Facebook first, this issue doesn't arise as often. In fact, sometimes closing my browser, letting it sit for a minute then restarting alleviates most of the lag.

So it seems to me there's some kind of Facebook/Firefox/CoH Forum incompatibility. here are my readouts from CoHHelper and HiJackThis logs:

At least for CPU utlization (though the choppiness could be caused by it), my money is on the Link Scanner and possibly the Identity Protection agent.

Remember, the link scanner is going to hit EVERY...SINGLE...LINK on the page, in the background. Thus why Firefox is consuming resources the way it is. This, in turn, is likely affecting how smoothly the Firefox process is responding to input for things like scrolling.

In short. You don't. Unadulterated Psi damage is about as rare as hen's teeth in the game. As such, your other typed defenses should shore you up quite nicely.

As such, the advice to get Hoarfrost's recharge down (basically for the heal) is good.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, but if the Def doesn't crash on any overlap of the power, what about the -damage, and -endurance?

Looking at my build again, even with a set of Gaussian's in it, I should be ok.

But it does make me think it's probably a bad idea for a Shielder like myself to 'use' it until he/she can make it overlap.

To spell it out in no uncertain terms:

This is what happens when you have Rage overlapped and the first instance expires.

    Damage
    • Your damage on all your primary, secondary and pool powers crash.
    • Your damage on your temp powers does NOT crash.
    • Your damage on procs slotted into your powers does NOT crash
    Endurance
    • You get the 25% Endurance crash
    Defense
    • You do NOT get the defense crash.
    ToHit
    • You lose the 30% ToHit buff from the first instance of Rage.

As to it being a bad idea to use.

Yes, you have to watch for the crash. But you're putting out an incredible amount of extra damage with Rage and AAO piggy-backing. In all likelihood, you'll splatter the enemy so fast they won't be around to attack during the Rage crash.

I find that Ghost-Slaying Axe -> Blackwand -> Nemesis Staff exactly fills the duration of my Rage crash. Of course, you need to be 57+ month vet for that option. It's also a bit of an End hog.

Sometimes, I just use the Rage crash as an opportunity to pause and take a recovery tick.

It's far from crippling by any means. You just learn to work around it.

I tend to let it crash (as it's doubled) and then Taunt > Sands of Mu > Taunt and it's back. Plus, since I have the Perfect Zinger proc in Taunt, I can usually get an unsuppressed "attack" in anyhow.

I'm going to the Customer Service site to report it now.
Okay, I bought the Animal Pack last week too. *YAY!*
I DID notice some suspicious behavior on my account Friday. *Uh oh!*
Turns out it was just Uncle Sam trying to give me back some of the cash he extorted from me in the last year. *YAY!*

Sure, vendor trash still gets converted straight to inf.

The rest goes on the market, bolstering supply and hopefully keeping prices lower than they would be if demand completely outstripped supply.

As they're doing it ALONE, they don't have to worry about drops being distributed to other teammates.
  13. Well, don't feel the need to do ALL of your alts all at once.

Wish I'd taken that advice myself... Almost a week of nothing but respecs...

Start with some of the toons you intend on playing. And work them up a bit in Mids first. This way you don't accidentally blow a respec.

    Build idea

Okay you're already running fairly high for endurance consumption. But you avoided Power Sink?

Also, optimal slotting for Stamina would probably be: Common: EndMod, PerfShift: EndMod, PerfShift: +End

I'd also think about doing the same for Physical Perfection too.

While it'd probably destroy the market server (due to all the numbers tracking), what I'd like to see in addition to the last 5.

Median price in the last 30 days.
High price in the last 30 days.
Low price in the last 30 days.

Now these numbers could still be heavily skewed in low activity items. But they'd give us an idea at least.

IMNSHO, mid-season breaks hurt even established shows for the same reason. Especially with cliffhanger endings. They set up this big "ooh, must watch the next episode" mentality. However, that only really works short term. That sort of interest fades in a couple weeks and is completely gone after a multi-month break unless you're just some ravenous fanboy.

SG:U however tries to be Lost in space. Large cast, mostly random strangers, tossed together in much less than ideal circumstances. Finally after a season and a half they start to get the ship they are stranded upon under some vague control they, SyFy, choose to break on a cliffhanger big *** space battle. Also it's not a happy series. Unless you define happy as "we didn't starve, suffocate or flip out and kill everyone today".
    Agreed.

    Quote:
So yes I'll watch the end of it. Let's see if Chloe turns into a homicidal alien hybrid. Let's see how the ship survives this battle. Let's see if someone is left behind only to catch up again. Maybe it will end on an upbeat. Probably because they are almost out of down beats.
You forgot the big one. "Rocks fall, everyone dies." Or the Quantum Leap equivalent.

Actually, with the launcher, you can right-click and get multiple options for the game.

Green: Game is ready to play.
Yellow: Game either needs patching or consistency checking..
Red: Game isn't ready to play. Needs patching at least.

My Beta install is red due to my having remove the PIGG directory to save space on my drive.

    Okay, quantitative analysis here:

    Test System:
    Lenovo ThinkPad T61p
    4GB RAM
    Windows XP 32-Bit.

    Memory Usage:
CoH Launcher on startup: ~25 MB
After Idle: 2.756 MB Leaks up to 4.048 MB after 30 minutes and stable after that.

NCSoft Launcher on Startup: ~56 MB
After Idle: 3.7 MB Immediately starts leaking memory.
First time startup after 5 minutes: 8 MB
Second time startup after 5 minutes: 11 MB
Third time startup after 5 minutes: 11 MB

Leaving it run causes it to, slowly, continue to leak memory. Usually in single to double KB increments over time.

sure, people may have been watching SG:U, but not nearly enough to keep it afloat.
IMNSHO the biggest problem with SG:U was pacing.

It took them FOREVER to get some of the story arcs into full swing. I know they were trying to be more epic and less episodic but still.

The other thing was the mid-season breaks. Those completely DESTROYED *ANY* momentum the show built.

"Let's just take a multi-month break RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ******* SEASON! What could go wrong?"

Whoever thought this was a "good" idea needs to be taken out back and forcibly sterilized...with a chainsaw...for the good of television viewers everywhere.

Season one was blah enough that the gap wasn't a huge deal. Season two had started to really come together when they hit their next mid-season break. It's a shame the series was so badly mishandled. It had a buttload of potential.
  19. Depends on what you're farming.
  20. I play all my support characters aggressively (ask my Fire/Rad superteam).

My FF/Archery defender is aggressive as hell and built like a tank.

My Grav/Kin is built to take punishment.

Let's face it. I'm a fricking tank. No matter what class I take, I tank. Hell, I've even tanked LR on one of my blasters.

Either I'm just such a poor player that I always revert to tank-think, or I'm just such a spectacular tank that I can tank with anything...

    Probably the former.
  21. Stupid car question. The turn signal thing on the Malibu.

Does it sometimes go away when you turn the air on full blast?

Asking because I have an '02 Malibu with the same issue.

  23. Figure this thread might be helpful for you so people can give you some informed suggestions.

Grab the template from there, answer as much as you can, and paste the result here.

If you're not comfortable building your own, nothing wrong with that. Nothing at all.

    Okay, currently

Best bang for the buck: AMD/ATI for chip and video.
    Best bang period: Intel/nVidia.

For your $1000 budget, this could either be very generous or a tight build. The questions you answer will help determine that.
