Quote:Again, this is in-line with their past handling of awards failing to drop. When some TFs were failing to drop merits in the early days of merits, even people who completed the TF and bugged it weren't awarded the missing merits after the fact. Not particularly impressed by this - spent a whole evening doing parts 1 & 2 because NOTW didnt drop after part 1, and NOW we're told its an error, and regardless of whether we can provide chat log file evidence that we did both parts, we WONT be awarded the NOTW?
Come on guys, its a bit like being told to dig a hole, then being told to fill it in again straight after, without getting paid for it.
And the annoying thing is that a petition/request for a GM wasnt considered because we know they wouldnt be able to join an ongoing WST.
Really really beginning to have doubts about continuing my subscription considering the "oops factor" this game comes with - shame after 5 years of play. -

Quote:In short.Considering whether I should renew my sub. Have they repaired what they did to the game with i13 yet?
No.
A slightly more descriptive answer of the situation?

This.Quote:Those posts were just the courtesy they give to pvper's every now and then. There have been countless other places where everyone has stated what needs to be fixed. They know what's wrong, and know what they need to do to fix it, but the pvp population is not substantial enough for them to put money into it. the end. -

Quote:That's a bit harsh.Anyone who claims that they are 52 or 53 are either lazy, don't know better, or are lying.
Overly pedantic. Where's it written in stone that HP MUST increase with every level for it to BE a level?Quote:It is 50+2 and 50+3 since your health doesn't change as it does with regular leveling.
Then it'd be a fair assessment to say that they could, actually, qualify as L51, 52, or 53. Any damage not taken is at least equivalent to any additional hit points they were not awarded for those level shifts.Quote:They are still 50s, but level 54 mobs see them as -1 or -2 instead of -4 so 50+3s will hit more often, attack better, and survive longer than 50s. -

Quote:Switch over to the NCSoft Launcher. For the longest time now, I'd say several months to a year, I've been having issues with the updater. The game runs fine, when the updater stops bugging out on me.
If I start the game more than twice a day, the updater keeps telling me that it has to fix the COH game files. And often it will stop doing that and just hang there for a good fifteen to twenty minutes doing nothing.
When it finally does finish, the game runs fine, but if I log out and log back in later in the day it starts right back up again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times since the issue began and nothing seems to fix it. What could be causing this? -
Quote:Reminder: MANY OF THESE BUGS DID NOT OCCUR ON BETA! And on the occasions I participated in Beta runs, there were healthy numbers of people involved. One note I was the OP and I didn't say anything about them "not caring", I did say that i20 for all intents and purposes is in open beta on the live servers, we are all basically shaking the bugs out of the system the only way real stress testing can do. This is a BIG issue, there are lots of new systems and moving parts, I understand that, but I defiantly think it needed a little more polish before it was released on the unwashed masses. So best thing we can do with the situation at hand is report problems so they can fix them, I believe that dropping connection and having a reward rollback is a serious enough issue to merit immediate attention.
And, unfortunately, there's NO way to account for the variances in server loads between high-traffic servers and low traffic servers. -
Quote:Be careful, you just got the "Tactical Facepalm." This is the first weekend after a release. I'm sure their working on it. I'm sure they'll give us a patch next month after sound examination of the issues and concerns...
I just feel bad. If others experienced what I did then the LFG is off to a bad start. I just queued myself and watched it load and quit all sunday night. I even walked out and got pizza and came back. It was hilarious.
"The event failed to start"
I'm not sure how good of an idea the LFG queue was.
Currently, with the rush, mostly leagues are only going when fully stocked.
In the few instances of LFG working, it drops in the second there's enough to meet minimum requirements. Leading to sub-optimal runs as your forces are barely enough.
I'm afraid that, later on, after everyone kits out, that we'll see LFG ONLY yielding minimum-members teams.
This is a well-intentioned feature that needs a bit of work to make useful. -
Quote:Uhm. WHAT? The issue is less than a week old. And a lot of these issues were NOT evident in beta. There seem to be numerous issues with the new Raids and the attitude I'm seeing from NC is "tough we don't care".
Also, the root causes of said problems are not always obvious or easily fixed or quickly fixed.
Moreover, since the issue dropped, there have been two or three unplanned downtimes for maintenance (one of which was quite extended).
And from this, you draw "We don't care"?!?!?

The GM's aren't simply going to give you rewards because you said you've lost them. In the past, when certain TFs failed to award merits, etc, players weren't compensated. But the bug was eventually fixed.
I suggest you retoggle your Patience. -
No. No they're not.
The nice thing about FF's little bubbles are that the players can take the bubbles well away from the caster for 4 minutes. If you turn it into an AoE toggle, it's just a double for Dispersion Bubble. What's more, it INHIBITS larger teams, as players have to stay near the caster to enjoy the benefits. -
Others have probably done this since, but I started my Ill/Ice troller up on Virtue the day we first got power customization with Longbow PA.

Quote:The thing that is sending me red-flags is that no developer actually *part* of the design process is willing to even try to defend this POS design paradigm. They know its garbage and that they are forcing people into grinding and they (for some unfathomable reason) don't *CARE*.
Okay, I dislike the fact that soloers are penalized so heavily compared to trial grinders as well. But this is an unfair accusation.
You're trying to take the devs to task at 5PM on a Sunday because they haven't responded to a thread that was started this same Sunday at noon.
If the devs are doing anything game-related this weekend, they're probably PLAYING it. Not browsing the forums. -
Quote:Kinda like purples. Or very desirable rares. Or PVP IOs. Right? So? Very rares should not be seen as a realistic goal for someone who refuses to engage in group content. It's possible, but unrealistic.
For a game that's prided itself on being open and accessible to it's player base, this is something of a rude shock for people.
I'm fairly sure that 2-2.5 YEARS isn't what some people would consider "accessible". -
Quote:Everyone has to "follow orders" at some point in time, even in the civilian world (good example would be your gf/wife lol). This SG is definitely wacky, but considering it's on the RP server...meh.
Sorry you had a bad experience with the Army; I went to langage school for a year in Cali, hung out in Europe for years and got them to pay for my college among other things during my time in. Followed a lot of orders and issued a lot of orders
Honestly, I had fun while I was in. Just ran into a few of the "Will claw my way over you to advance myself" types and a few of the "I will micromanage every facet of your life, regardless of whether or not it's my business" types and it kinda soured me on continuing. Essentially I slid into a "dead end" unit. Transferring out, when my MOS was at 125% full force strength to any place save overseas would have been tough. And I didn't want to go through the hassle of going overseas again.
So I opted for "promotion" to PFC (the other one). -

Quote:Aye. With several of us sporting newly minted Incarnate abilities, I foresee much pain for the Cimeroran traitors...Yes - I think an ITF would be good for tomorrow. I need a break from BAFfing and Lambdas. See you then!
Quote:I'm a bad man. I'm going to bail on you tonight so I can run the ITF with my MA/Inv to get the nictus piece, NotW, and some shards.
[Though, if I did run w the frads, Kaylee Foxtrot would probably ding 47 and I could fix her broken self. She really can't run with a normal team except for buffs and imps she's so endurance broken.]
Sorry you won't be there tonight. And don't worry. Get yourself to 50 and the Cardiac Alpha makes a HUGE difference. You can actually mow down entire 8-man spawns without needing to pop blues or huff after every group.
Oh, and that cloud you'll see in the west? That's not a forest fire. That's Cimerora...burning... -

Quote:Maybe yes, maybe no. Remember, the menu items that control the various tabs are static in the UI. Reworking them to become scrolling control items might be a bit of a stretch, and bring it's own sort of cumbersome with it.Apparently, the subtle science of horizontal scrolling eludes them.
Not to my knowledge.Quote:Had previously reduced my ui scale. Related question: can the font size be changed independently? If so, I may try adjusting the scale of the individual window, then increase the chat font size to compensate for reduced readability. Also, screen resolution is set to the desktop default, 1680x1050. Using any other setting results in distortion. -
It's people like this that convinced me not to make a career out of the Army.
Backstabbing little social insects, the lot of them. -
As they had to add the League and LFG tabs in there, likely this isn't going to happen.
Have you tried reducing the size of your UI in preferences? Or raised your resolution? -

Quote:Yes and no.I agree. "Intellectual" and "college degree" are not synonyms. "College degree" and "regurgitated the text book" would be.
Side story: A friend of mine did his pee-aitch-dee on holographic memory for robots (in 1987!) and was disappointed that the process wasn't more challenging. I couldn't even understand what the heck he was talking about beyond the word "robot" and I'm not a dummy. That's an intellectual dude.
One of my degrees is in nursing (yes, I used to wipe butt for a living). You get similar responses when talking jargon to patients and their families. A lot of it is that people aren't usually prepped for esoteric terminology.
Unless you delve into "hospital humor". That's a WHOLE different sort of response from people. I've accidentally ruined dinners for people by digging up anecdotes...
Then there's my CompSci degrees. Most people get the real general stuff, and even some of the oddball references. But just explaining simple things like base two math to people and why hard drives are "smaller"?
You can SEE their eyes glass over.
And trying to explain various types of SQL joins to people. Dear GOD it makes me think I'm Daryl Revok from "Scanners" and they're my target.
