Quote:One small suggestion though. I would use the league interface to ORGANIZE the teams. But I wouldn't actually run the raid in League Mode. Currently the league interface introduces MASSIVE lag to the event (speaking from experience here).REMINDER! This is TONIGHT! Looks like we're going to have a great turn out. I'm not super fond of calling out the pylons, does anyone want to volunteer for that duty?
We're going to be doing this as a League. So make sure you have league chat in your box, so you can keep up with the nuttiness.
Meet in Point du Hoc in Rikti War Zone 2. With this many signed up, we should be able to spawn a Second Warzone if it doesn't already exist.
A Note to my usual team leaders: Since we're doing this as a league, I won't be sending out team lists this week. I'll just try my best to get everyone in the league and get the teams as balanced as I can with what we have.

Quote:I dunno. The event organizer didn't specify a bomb run, though if they don't object, our team could probably do one.
- Are you going to do a bomb run like described in your sig?
- Are the Frads going to meet at 8pmC/9pmE on the talos hill and goof around for an hour before?
We're still meeting at the same time. And only someone who's played fire/rads would consider incinerating a tip mission "goofing around".

What we MAY want to do is make sure everyone on the team has run through the Vanguard intro mish so they get Vanguard Merits. -
10PM eastern?
Hmm. Mind an additional team of fire/rads? -
Also, since this IS fire/rads we're talking about. I'd like to take the opportunity to invite you guys to the Fire/Rads superteam(s) on Freedom. Monday nights, 9PM Eastern.

Quote:Faster animating, lower endurance use, minor -def, but lower damage.Lionsbane you are not soft capped. Laser Beam Eyes is not something I'd recommend to anyone who isn't making a Superman concept.
Also, doesn't require you to be on the ground. So the power isn't disabled when you're in flight the way Hurl is.
I'd say that's a fairly decent tradeoff. -

Quote:Hi. I've been away from the game for quite a while. Now i've returned, hopefully re enthused and certainly impressed with some of the changes that have occurred in my absense.
I love the fact the inherents are now.. inherent. (loving the incarnate system btw...)
Which brings me to my question. I am SS/ Invul. i took all the invul powers except tough hide because I added tough and weave.
On the other side of the coin I added handclap, mostly for concept reasons.
Cept, now playing i realise hand clap is pretty redundant, especially as the closer my foes are the more my "invulnerabiliyy" increases.. Soooo pushing them away seems... odd.
I took hurl, a power that i never took in my previous time here but it's been improved.. or it seems to have anyhow.. So i took that for my primary ranged attack.
Anyhow, If i drop handclap and add something is there any real benefit to adding tough hide (which my logic tells me to do) or add maybe laser vision for another ranged attack?
Does tough hide increase my imperviousnes or defence by any significant degree?
Okay, Hand Clap. You're running a tank that DEPENDS on keeping huge gobs of enemies near you to keep your defenses up. And you took a power whose sole purpose is to scatter enemies.
Translation: Drop it.
TAKE TOUGH HIDE! It's part of the layering of protections you need to survive. It provides a baseline 5% (enhanced up to about 8%) defense. You're much too squishy otherwise.
Take a look at Call Me Awesome's guide to Invuln tankers and the soft cap.
Nearly all the goodness of a Stoner in Granite and none of the speed and damage penalties. -
Quote:I would say, soft cap all 3 type sets, or just Smashing/Lethal and Energy/Negative. There is a lot of Energy getting tossed around now-a-days. You can easily do that, by using reactive armors instead of the Aegis sets. I doubt you would ever use Laser Beam Eyes, and if you wanted a ranged power, grab hurl. It's better and does a -fly. No reason to grab unstop, can put that IO somewhere else. I would also advise grabbing taunt.
The reason I prefer LBE over Hurl is that Hurl doesn't work when flying.
So, in a flight situation, you're deprived of not one, but TWO of your heavy hitters.
I fight the tradeoff for the faster charging but lower damage LBE is a worthwhile one. -
Do yourself a huge favor:
- Grab a copy of Titan Sentinel. This will allow you to grab a copy of your build directly from the game that you can then import into Mids.
- Grab a copy of Mids so you can look over your build and save it.
You can then use Mids to view the various builds that people put forth and decide how you wish to go. -

Quote:Maybe, maybe not. Depends on how new the drones are, and if they were within range at the time to detect the activities of the Novus civilization. It doesn't matter if the drones didn't exist 2000 years ago. They arrived at some point during the recent times that the Destiny colonists were using the gates and since the drones can track gates being used they would know exactly where the colonies and their homeworld were and destroyed them.
It's also possible that Destiny dragged the drones into an area they hadn't previously expanded into (or hadn't expanded into YET).
It's also possible that the drones are only semi-active. They remained dormant in that debris field for how long? It's only when presented with an enemy that actually avoids destruction that they maintain higher levels of activity and move around more.
Their programming could be as "simple" as "destroy any alien tech that crosses your path". Not "seek out alien tech and destroy it".
The former is a more economical use of resources as they kill anything within their sphere of influence and don't waste amounts of energy poking into every single corner of creation hoping to find something to destroy.
In a way, they're similar to the situation with the Wraith from SG: Atlantis. You had a limited population of them awake at any one time, carrying out limited operations to keep themselves going.
Then the humans blundered in and woke them ALL up. -
Quote:WarWitch: Dang! We lost Freedom! Guess we found the limits. How much?I figure it's that and they just want to put the servers and new setup through their paces. Look at the timing of the Praetorian events. They want to cram as many people into the servers at a time and then they're going to watch their datamines very closely. This is really the only way they can find out if the servers can stand up to this kind of punishment.
Posi: Toting up right now.
*RING!*
WW: Hello?
Technician: Hi, this is Bob as the NCSoft data center. You guys were load testing the Freedom shard right?
WW: Well. Yeah. Can you reset it?
Technician: No.
WW: What do you mean no?
Technician: Does the phrase "Puddle of metal, plastic and silicon" mean anything to you?
WW:
Technician: I agree. Well, gotta go. Have to get a hazmat team in here.
WW: Matt! We...melted...the server.
*THUD*
WW: Matt! Get up for god's sake! Get up! They've killed Matt! They've killed Matt! Those lousy stinking yellow villains! Those horrible, atrocity filled vermin!

Quote:Better yet, Richards identifying some unknowable energy structures as "kirby dots".What would be nice is that if in every Marvel movie that features characters that Jack Kirby helped create that we get something more besides his name in the credits "Hulk created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby". Some character named Kirby that makes an appearance, or Reed of the FF saying there is a disturbance on my sensors, it's in the Kirby nebula or something like that.
-
Quote:I'm quite surprised they went there. I mean, that really ups the ante for the Marvel Universe. I wonder if that's what The Avengers will be about?
The Avengers: It's hip to be square!
As for Coulson, I'm going to watch out for something out of left field. Something is just screaming "LMD!" to me. -

Quote:They aren't going F2P any time soon. There's no upside to it for them. None. One possible reason for this is perhaps they will go free to play which would bring in many new people. If this is the plan may I suggest making Virtue and Freedom server for only paid subscribers since they already have high populations?
Another is that, since all the servers are in place, maintaining parallel support structures for each of the server hives is less economical than merging into a single list.
Your global name is what's going to change. Not your alts' names. This isn't a server merge, so there is no collision of alt names. Just global. This is NOT a server merge.Quote:The other possibility I thought of is a plan to merge the servers into one. While I see benifits in doing that there is one BIG problem which is resolving heroes with the same name. Quite frankly if I have to change the name of some of my most liked alts I may stop playing.
Rather than rage against the possibilty however I thought about it and would like to offer an equitable sollution. Let me break it down:
You're coming up with a solution for a problem that doesn't exist.Quote:Each character gets an extra data field that identifies which server they were on. Players can have the same name as long as the server they were from is different.
New characters choose the "server" they belong to even though there is now only one server. This "server" catagory of players can be used for events and competitions i.e. Virtue v.s Guardian to see who can complete ITF the fastest. So in essence a player is choosing a group they want their character to be a part of. -
Quote:Remember, there's been a time-slip event here too.I rewatched the episode last night and when Dr Panic was freaking out over the newspaper he found I started wondering how the Destiny descendants managed to build an advanced society and colonize many planets using the Stargates when we now know the drones track Stargate use and attack/destroy anything resembling alien tech on the planets where they reside.
Possibly, the drones simply didn't exist 2000 years ago.
They're probably not at EVERY stargate. But just at a large (but finite) number of stargates within destiny's refueling range.Quote:Also if the drones have enough ships to blockade every star Destiny can use to refuel as well as (according to previews) every planet with a stargate, and they can have forces respond to an unexpected stargate activation (last episode) in a few hours then their resources must number in the thousands and be spread over vast distances.
Or at some time in the past they interfaced with the stargates and pulled a map.Quote:Oh and if the previews are correct that the drones are blockading the Stargates that are on planets that means they must have the locations of all the stargates on file somewhere. That also might mean that they can track the way Stargates update their coordinates thru subspace. Otherwise there is no way they could know where all the Stargates are located if they aren't being used.
Why exactly they didn't go out of their way to destroy the gates previously is a mystery. -
I think this would be better off as a Tier3 power in the Teleport APP.
Combat Teleport
Type - Toggle
Endurance Cost: .25 end/sec
Basic Description: Essentially this power will, when you trigger an attack, teleport you directly to the enemy who you have highlighted then triggers the attack.
About the only downside I see to this is it would make combat TERRIBLY choppy for the person running this power. -

Okay dumb question, I'm assuming you're looking to stick with $900 total even with monitor?
If so, take a look at Father XMas' $725 rig
