I've had Krispy Kreme before. I'm not impressed and I live just up the road from one. They're decent doughnuts but I'm not one of those people that has to have them. Hell, I'm not even really a big doughnut guy.

Or maybe I'm just averse to the whole "cult" mentality behind it.

Just makes me want to run to my local White Castle.

Maybe my palate isn't "refined" enough to appreciate In-N-Out. But I didn't find it all that special.

Seriously though, it depends on your build and what you want to do with it.

Okay, I've stepped across to The Old Country and started up three tanks on Zukunft, Union and Defiant.

    Vanguard Headsman - Defiant
    Conflagrante - Union
    Schlitzkrieg - Zukunft

Accidentally juxtaposed the u and the a in Vanguard during character creation. Just reinforcing the notion that we Americans are illiterate gun nuts I guess.

Well, would have participated, but the chat window was completely borked. Tried it in multiple browsers and it was freaked in all of them.

This is the problem with unlocking cores on CPUs. The extra cores aren't always stable. If they were, they'd have been binned under a different part number.

Also, are you running the stock heatsink/fan? If so, it's possible that the one you've got isn't sufficient to dissipate the heat from all 4 cores.

If we could get an earlier time that didn't conflict with Tanker Tuesdays, I'd be happy to co-lead (or take the lead) for you.

I'm one of the co-leads for Protector's Rush the Rikti ship raid events every Wednesday and I've led various PUG raids successfully in the past as well.

To be fair, I DID mention several times if people needed the arc.

And they're still good for the vanguard satchel (holds extra salvage). And my little MVAS needs a big brother to look after him. Plus you can buy Gr'ai Matters which convert directly to shards.

Aye. L54 Rikti are no joke.

Probably the best orchestrated raid I've been on, as I've only done pug raids where there's always at least 20% headed back from the hospital. According to Herostats, if it had lasted another 24 minutes I would have hit level 49. [on a character which is probably one of my least favorites. In fact, I haven't trained since 46.]
You! YES! YOU! GET ON WITH IT!
Walk up to a trainer, smack them in the face and scream "TRAIN MEH! TRAIN MEH NAO!"

But they had enough power to run things like Quake or Unreal.

At which point, the platform became absolutely EVIL as you could headshot people just by tapping a stylus on their heads.

That's just it though. You're talking about apps. They're built specifically for the platform and most of them are at a basic level of functionality.

Trying to run CoH on there would be akin to taking a McLaren F1, putting a trailer hitch on it, then trying to hook up a car-hauler.

It MIGHT be able to do it, but that's not the point.

Am I talking ultra mode? No. Am I talking about something written specifically for the iPad 2? Yes. The original iPad was able to run "Dreamcast" graphics on it. The iPad 2 is more powerful. The short of this is really simple: Opening up CoX to more people. This might be better suited if there was a F2P version, but that's another story. Please keep in mind that I'm not solely championing Apple here. It's just more likely that the iPad would be supported due to less hardware variables as compared to an Android based tablet (all over the map). Now, what could work?

The problem is, the devs would have to almost start from scratch to build an iPad port. Even the OSX/Linux is just the Windows version with a wrapper and a few tweaks. Not honest-to-god separate code.

An iPad port simply doesn't have the system resources available to cope with that.

Don't forget, it's been out a while overseas too. Total revenues thus far are 241 million. So it's already made back production costs + 60%. Unless something goes terribly wrong, it'll hit 300 mil easily.

The film's major problems are that there's a metric BUTTLOAD (as opposed to those strange Imperial BUTTLOADs) of highly competitive films coming out in the next 4-ish weeks.

    Pirates of the Caribbean
    X-Men
    Green Lantern
    Then next month, Captain America.

So it's basically got two more weeks to go big or go home.
  19. Okay. Had a decent run tonight. Unfortunately one of my guys brain-farted and hadn't gotten the Vanguard badge. And we'd made time for another player to do it already...

Anyhoo, we nabbed about 550 Vanguard Merits off the raid. Not the personal best I've ever done, but not bad at all.

On these raids, it's VERY possible to clear the bowl before the next respawn. And we were.
    \
When that happens, the aggro-grabbers want to head up out of the bowl to the bomb lanes to pick up some of the groups of enemies out there. Then lead them back to the bowl. As few as three durable aggro grabbers can boost a raid's VM output by 50-150 VMs this way.

People are simply complaining they missed an announcement because they didn't read the announcements.

However, I do think they should have added it to the gmotd.
Thing is, the gmotd doesn't always work properly either.

    Completely not what I said.

Is a stoner in Granite weak because they're vulnerable to psi?

What I'm saying is, when talking about heavily optimized builds on Invuln and Stone, the differences in survivability for 90+% of the game is virtually negligible.

Differences in amounts of resistance are meaningless if I'm never getting hit.
Differences in the amounts of regen are meaningless if I'm rarely getting hit and resisting the damage down to a level that my native regen can easily overcome it.

And I'm not talking about avoiding the enemies in question. Merely that I can't play like a scrapper on crack and button-mash my way through. I have to be more intelligent about how I play.

Like I said. Just a suggestion. We can try a league run. If it becomes a problem, we can drop to a separate team.

Not really. Outside of a couple of very specific enemy types, I can (and have) AFK-tank exactly the same way I can with a stoner running Granite.
