Quote:I've never seen any sewers in any fiction that have that similarity of a series of metal silos lined up in pairs parallel from one another, across a straight central walk way, leading to a central mechanical focal point, right below a series of catwalks.
Unless I missed that episode of ninja turtles.
Sorry, but this is a fairly old trope.
Go watch Metropolis. -
Damn, going to have to go get a new physics translation cluster. The one I have now is maxed out after sinking it 3 layers deep in warp fold bubbles to achieve true FTL processing speeds.
Crap. And the power requirements. Going to need to go capture another cluster full of black holes and harness the gamma plumes. My current stellar engine is only rated for infinity+3 power specs. Gah!
Luckily I splurged the last time and my net connection can handle the 500 zettabyte per picosecond requirements for the game easily. But damn was that parallel feed subspace link expensive!
CoH 7, real, godlike superpowers would be cheaper. -
Okay, back when they started fiddling with SLI in the game, I got together with a buddy of mine from nVidia.
He tossed a pair of GTX 470's and a fairly powerful test rig at the game and found this.
SLI enables higher resolution at acceptable framerates.
SLI enables higher graphical settings at acceptable framerates.
SLI does NOT really translate into an appreciable gain in top-end framerate at lower resolutions. -
I have a couple craftsmen, and most of the alts I know I'm not going to be playing for a little bit are involved in lowball bidding.

Come to Chicago. They'll deep fry anything here. Twinkies, Snickers bars, etc. Hell, they even deep fry ice cream.

Quote:Basically anything from Intel should be considered "not supported".ok, because the video chip on our Vista laptop fails and crashes the system, so that's why I"m asking. It's in Intel 965 or x3100 or something.
If it runs? Hey! Good for you! But the Intel GPUs aren't gaming chips. They're meant for desktop functionality and not much more. -
I'd say "yes BUT".
2GB of RAM is REALLY low for Windows 7. Especially 64-bit.
The 6310 is "technically" an integrated solution. It may be sitting on a separate board, but it has no dedicated memory. It's using system memory.
It'll play CoH. Don't expect Ultra mode though, and you NEED to get more memory for it.
Here's a link to the Crucial.com page for your laptop's compatible memory.
I'd recommend just going whole-hog and getting 8GB. A hundred bucks and you're done.
And yes, get the higher spec memory. It won't really help much for system responsiveness, but you're ALSO running your video card off that memory too. So faster memory = slight bump in performance. -

Yeah. My parents moved down to Florida and they're bemoaning the lack of decent pizza places, though my mom's favorite beef place ships nationally.

Quote:Hi all
I just buy COH(going rogue) a week ago, but I couldnt start playing until a couple of days for "technical problems"(my pass was not working)
In these two days I've been swarming around the server trying to get the hang of, but had not played a MMORPG, Since SWG (before Sony made it unplayable)
So... A couple of questions:
- You can form groups for specific missions or just to gain xp faster? There any particular place where people come together to form a group?
- Like a "mastermind lvl5": What is best suited to win xp, get quests, or just kill kill kill?
Thanks 4 ur time- If you're looking to gain XP at a faster rate, you can do three things.
- Form a group. Individual XP per-kill goes down, but the increased number of enemies and the bonus for teaming makes up for that.
- Crank up your difficulty. If you hit one of the Hero Corps guys floating around in the various zones, you can adjust your difficulty in several ways:
- Level relational to yourself. -2 to +4
- Number of enemies (effectively treating you as a team). x0 to x8
- Fight bosses or not
- Fight AVs or not.
- A combination of the two (teaming with bumped difficulty).
- Your best bet for finding teams are in the various channels specific to your server. Unfortunately I'm not a Triumph regular, so I'm unable to give you the specific names of various channels. Others who follow up should be able to do this though.
- Also, look on the forums here for various events (ship raids, Hamidon raids, open TF/Trial events, etc).
- At level 5, the differences in XP earnings between various enemy factions is miniscule. Just do your mission arcs, as you get XP and inf bonuses at the completion of every mission, as well as a big completion bonus at the end of an arc. Both of these will help you level faster than simply street-sweeping will, as you'll outlevel street mobs too fast and have to range further to try to find ones that'll award decent XP.
- If you're looking to gain XP at a faster rate, you can do three things.

Quote:I'm fairly sure the devs and community managers DO give a crap about Mac users.B) it feels like the devs/community managers just don't give a crap about mac users. And for all we know, they don't.
This is, unfortunately, a NORMAL problem when you outsource a "port" to a third-party company. Paragon's completely at the mercy of Transgaming. And if Transgaming just sits on their thumbs, all Paragon can do is wring their hands. -
Quote:I remember reading an article about 10 years ago or so (maybe longer) about some Neapolitan pizza group that'd come through Chicago. These are the guys insisting that if pizza isn't like 12 inches across and completely made from scratch and baked in a brick oven, it doesn't qualify as "pizza".Truth. But when you find that Chicago Thin Crust that's heavenly. WATCH OUT! It's funny but I don't know any native Chicagoans who eat the deep dish on a regular basis.
Pizza is meant to be eaten in squares darnit!
One of them go a hold of Chicago Deep Dish. He described it as "An earthquake in my mouth." And not in a good way.
Welcome to the party pal! -

I'm still seeing the original
*** EDIT ***
Okay. Was able to fix it.
Here's why it won't refresh.
Essentially favicons are only set to clear if you don't hit a site for more than 24 hours. If, like me, you're on this site all different times of the day, it'll never clear. Ever.
Here's how to get around that.
- Clear your browser cache and shut down your browser.
- Advance your system clock 48+ hours (or just flip the month ahead).
- Restart the browser and hit the site.

Quote:The dislike stems mostly from the fact that Unstoppable is an appropriate response in a VERY tiny number of corner-cases. The rest of the time the power is either useless or a net negative. Unstoppable is only marginally more useful to a well built Inv/SS tanker than Hand Clap is.The hate for Unstoppable is blown out of proportion if you ask me. Yes the crash can kill you, but you shouldn't be using it unless you'd die anyway if you didn't.
For a Tier9 power that's pitiful. -

Quote:I always laugh at people who ask for "Chicago Style" pizza when they come into town. But pizza's a whole other story. We have crap options for pizza where I'm at but when I go out of town, I'm always asking who's got the best pizza in town.
There's two types. The deep-dish which most of you bloody furriners (basically anyone not born and bred in the Chicago area) think of. Plus there's the crispy thin crust Even in the burbs it's hard to find thin crust Chicago Style that's any good.
And a lot of the best places for it are these little hole-in-the-wall joints.
Then you have your standard thick-crust pizza.
Then you have atrocities like California Pizza Kitchen *MMPHH!*
Sorry just threw up in my mouth a little...*MMPHH!* Make that a LOT.
If that's what they're calling pizza in the Cali, I never, EVER want to go back there.
Newsflash: Yet another California Pizza Kitchen has gone up in a ball of nuclear flame. This is the thirteenth one this evening... -

Quote:As I live in Chicago, I have had both Culvers and Steak & Shake. The burgers aren't bad. They're not great either (a bit too greasy).More specifically a cake as opposed to yeast donut.
In and Out Burger is very good. Five Guys is better IMO, so is Culver's. Steak and Shake is about equal. We have three of the four in Chicago, so I have all the refined burger joints I need.
Now pizza or Italian Beef... -
Quote:Think that's bad? Wait till the slider works its way to the other end of my digestive tract.Obviously your palate isn't refined. You eat at White Castle.

CS grenades? PFFT! Kid stuff!
