As noted, don't leave it open.
If you're not sure how to turn it off when launching the game, the information's in the NCSoft Launcher HOWTO in my sig. -
One small glitch.
The things that were switched?
They should have melted when The Doctor melted the thing in the Tardis. They were The Flesh too. So he's wandering around barefoot right? -
Hey. Dumb question for all of you guys.
Since Memorial Day is a holiday (at least in the US), would anyone be interested in starting earlier?
If so, how much? -

Health way overslotted.
Brawl and Boxing overslotted. Stick an common Acc IO in there and call it done.
With the amount of defense you have in S/L/E/N drop the Gaussians and just go for 3x Common Recharge IOs.
Use the extra slots to fill out your attacks.
Don't futz with holds in KO Blow. Acc/Damage/End/Rech.
Honestly, don't fart with the +Recharge IO. Last I heard it wasn't working properly anyhow. Look to get more EndMod in there.
Slot Jab better. Remember, while it's damage sucks, its a fast-charging attack that carries a debuff with it. You want it to pretty much ALWAYS hit. -

Was playing the other night on my PB and definitely noticed that seekers were being agressive little *bleep!*s.

Quote:Maybe. The 540 is really an entry-level solution. You might get away with turning some things on. But balls-to-the-wall Ultra Mode? No.The Nvidia 540 shows up a lot in newer systems and I wonder if it could handle UM at say 1300 X 700.
Compared to the previous 460M.

Quote:Must've been a mis-click. Thought I'd only put 3 in there and the +3% defMy lvl 50 tank I use for all kinds of things and I do not use RoP, or Temp Prot in it. really do not need it. Plus why did u take TP if its for farming? and Hyper why so much KB prot, u have it slotted to 16. You do not need that much 10 to 12 is plenty for a tank. Most baddies do not do more then 10 KB points including HAMI. My fire/fire tank only has 12 KB prot and dose just fine. But if its for Farming i do not think u will need it at all.

I haven't exactly had a shabby time on my FF/Archery defender.
Complete Ranged/AoE/En/Neg defense cap by itself. So all it has to do is concentrate on damage output.

Quote:Buildup increases your damage output and gives you +ToHit.nice, ok, so i understand char and taunt now.. but why build up and fiery embrace? are they worth using? I rarely hit them currently when farming.
Firey Embrace boosts your damage out put and gives a +Damage (Fire) component to all melee attacks.
Basically these boost your damage capacity enormously for short periods. Allowing you to kill faster. So YES! YOU WANT THEM!
Note: The build I gave you was just a mild rework of your own build (I'm at work and didn't have the spare time to give you a more farm-worthy build). -
Quote:Char is mainly for set bonuses and to give you another attack. Why slot char and taunt? this toon is mostly used for farming, so burn seems to be my highest source of dps, yet it isnt fully slotted, just curious as to why.
Taunt is for set bonuses (defense and recharge) and you want taunt because if you're outputting that kind of damage you're going to have enemies doing the "run away" thing. Taunt can help draw them back.
Also, in my build, don't simply look at the number of slots. Look at the stats.
On my build, accuracy is 2% lower (though your set bonuses widen the gap further), damage is 13% higher, EndRed is 20% higher, and Recharge is 41% higher.
It hits with sufficient accuracy, hits the same damage (including the damage buffs in your sets), doesn't eat as much of your blue bar when set off, and is up more often. -
I think you could probably squeeze a bit more performance out of the build.
End cost will go up a bit, but so will defense.
Right now your resists are woefully overslotted (and some are taken ridiculously late). Reordered the power selections a bit.
Also, while some of the bonuses from the sets are nice, especially in your AoEs, it's going to kill you on endurance consumption.
Frankenslot is your friend here.

Rereading the thread, it really strikes me that the guy's of the opinion that it's "Add an Acc and three Damage and you're done" on powers.
Honestly, it sounds more like he's someone who quit about the time ED dropped. His understanding of the IO system, and auxiliary effects, procs, and the like is woefully lacking.
And his casual dismissal of the "rounding out" process that happens post-30 just rings false. -
ThinkPad T61p (About $1700 a few years back): Core2Duo 2.5Ghz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD, 15" 1920x1200 screen, nVidia QuadroFX 570M.
Running standard graphics at 1920x1200. Looks "okay" but not great. Prefer my workstation a lot more. Still, it works just fine for casual play. It tends to choke a little on long raids.
Have a buddy I just set up with one of these. The machine's an absolute BEAST and he's VERY happy with it. Especially since, a couple days after he ordered it, the price took a $200-250 jump. -
Not that I'm a pessimist or anything.
But I'm expecting this to be a Merits+Inf thing, as it's FAR easier to assemble large numbers of merits (even Emps) relatively quickly, compared to Alignment Merits. -
I currently dual-monitor, single vidcard.
I'm not experiencing any problems.
It's POSSIBLE that your driver isn't handling the division of labor between the two vidcards well.
The other thing that might be going on is that your PCI-E slots may be dropping back from 16x to 8x and 8x. Depends on your board.
Can you provide your CoH Helper and Hijack This logs?
Also, can you give us a basic run-down of the equipment in your system (if it's hand-built). -
All my support toons just got together for the mother of all beer bashes!
-
I disagree. Starting at Level 30, you gain fewer powers overall, but the ones you have become much more fleshed out as the number of slots you have dramatically increases.
Slightly less than HALF of all slots on your toon are gained at Level 31+ (1-30 provides 51 slots including inherent/origin/Fitness, 31-50 provides 46 slots)
So yes. You're not busting out tons of new, whiz-bang powers anymore. But what you've already got begins to ramp up in power rather dramatically. -
I always laugh when someone says this.
There are tens of thousands of players in this game. And you've never played with more than a small fraction of them.
Ergo, the majority of players have exactly ZERO idea what your "in-game" reputation is.
Ergo, your "in-game" reputation means jack squat and may as well not even be brought up.
As such, your actions when you play with someone new, not some bogus pre-established notion you've implanted in your local clique BECOMES your reputation to these people.
You could have hundreds of people who think you're a great guy and a good player.
If you have a hissy fit on a team and make things miserable for them during your time on the team, to them, even if you're better later, you're a complete tool. If you treat them like crap because they aren't familiar with your "style" of play, you're a "richard".
Not saying this to be offensive to you or say that you ARE these things. Merely that when you act that way, that's how you're perceived. -
Quote:If set up that way from the start? Sure. There's a also a majority perception that F2P MMO's are the way of the future and can engender and create thriving robust communities. It's just a matter of how it's done.
Retrofitting a years-old sub-based MMO to now be F2P? Uh. No.
While there are one or two retrofits that did it and had modest success, there are several spectacular failures.
And on the internet, everyone remembers the stripper. The failures far overshadow the successes. -
Okay, while it's tempting to slot for set bonuses in Choking Cloud and Hot Feet, if you run out of End and they turn off, it's mostly a waste. I highly recommend frankenslotting the crap out of both of these powers. It'll serve you better in the long run.
And I agree about tossing the lockdown proc in Choking Cloud. You're giving it multiple chances to proc, without button-mashery.
If you're soloing, I recommend you build for EndRedux.
If you're going to take Stone as your Epic, Rock Armor is usually adequate for most situations.
If you're teaming with non-Fire/Rads, keep an eye on your EndRedux (mainly in the suggestions for Hot Feet and Choking Cloud), and work on building your recharge.
If you're doing Fire/Rad superteaming, build for recharge with EndRed as an afterthought. You'll be killing stuff so fast you won't have time to run out of endurance.
My builds are normally solo-oriented builds (even though I rarely solo with my Fire/Rads) with leanings towards defense. Mostly because I'm acting as team fallout/venge-bait....err...pseudotank.
Oh yes. If you can squeeze them into your build. Vengeance+Fallout+Mutation is THE perfect *IN YOUR FACE!* trifecta on enemy mobs if an ally goes down. Everyone gets defense-buffed like crazy, the enemy gets a nuke set off in their face, and the guy they just killed is back and very VERY ticked off at them.
I'd post my build, but Titan Sentinel seems a bit corn-fused since the CoH client just updated this morning (good by Nuke rains!) -
Quote:I'm just going to log on and park in a mission.Agreed sounds like it was unfun! One wonders how the freedum invasion will be with everyone trying to get on for the badge.
But if 50 people fighting in a zone is going to cause the zone to lag all to hell, this "experiment" in how many people they can shovel onto a single server is a relatively useless data point. -
Quote:Actually, it's about combating piracy. Take your glasses off when watching s 3D movie -- there's no way anyone could record that and pass it off as even a marginally-watchable pirate copy. Stealing the source material does you no good, either, until home 3D becomes prevalent.
Actually no. You're always going to have a large group of people who dislike or simply can't tolerate 3D in movies (I'm perilously close to that myself).
And the likelihood that ALL movies are going to go solely 3D is...farfetched.
Sure, it probably means a few less theater rooms that need to be scouted for surreptitious cam'ing. But as has been seen for much of the last 20 years. The theater chains only put the absolute minimum effort into their operations so as to maximize profits. Until something is all but FORCED on them, change doesn't come slowly even. It comes "not at all".
As such, they're not going to replace their "I could give a *BLEEP!*" minimum wage workers with well paid, diligent employees. They "couldn't afford" it. -
So do you want the answer in .44 Magnum or .50 cal?
