Okay was just able to grab a screenshot of a base layout without having to go in-game and set it up.
YOU WIN ONE IN-TAR-WEBZ! -
First, if you're looking for help layout out the base (how to arrange the rooms, I suggest you look here.
Now the designer actually comes up with a decent base layout for maximizing telepads. But if you're looking for crafting and a hospital point too, it's not so great.
But yes, you can shoehorn a 5x5 into the free plot. Here's my recommended layout for that.

Okay,
Doing a CEBR on Freedom right now while level-pacted to a friend's kid's account. It's taking appreciably longer than my solo did.
But in inf and prestige output per-level is phenomenal. I actually started my own SG my secondary account is lapsed pending Freedom) and was to 15 before one of the people in my regular SG showed up. Now, 30 levels later, I'm spitting distance of 1 million prestige and almost completely proc'ed out now.
The hard one is turning out to be the last Eradication proc (there's literally NONE on the market right now). I even have BRAWL proc'ed up. -
Quote:http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles...csDrivers.aspxHow do I uninstall the current driver? I'm freezing all the time (sometimes even before I can sign in) and trying to just install 11.2 is not working.
I recommend rebooting into safe mode (minimal drivers and programs load) first.
Reboot manually (don't allow the program to reboot for you). When it comes up with "New Hardware found" cancel/skip it.
You may want to run a registry/driver cleaner app too (though most of the time this isn't necessary).
At this point, install the "new" drivers. -

Hero 1: How'd you guys finish Duray?
Hero 2: We flung rocks at him.
Hero 1: HUH?
Hero 2: Dark Respite was with us and got pics. Here, take a look.

Quote:They've investigated other things and decided not to do them

Also, with the spread of the new style trials to non-Incanrate content like the new sewer one and the planned holiday trials, they're conditioning players to be comfortable with the LFG and TUT stuff right from level 1 - all the new players coming in with I21 won't know anything else.
Because that's just what everyone needs.
To do raids and nothing else.
No thanks.
Call me when they start generating real content again. -
All of this happens and where's Hitler?
In the cupboard! -
Quote:Yep. Because everyone just happens to have a nuclear fallout shelter buried 30 feet underground that they live in 24/7.Not really scary all that stuff is either avoidable pretty easily, unlikely to happen to most people, or if you have to live in the area that it happens a lot in its unavoidable and why be scared of things that are unavoidable?
You haven't got the slightest idea what you're talking about and I don't have any more patience to try to explain it to someone who's being militantly obtuse. -
Quote:You mean like when a funnel drops down directly in your area? How poor is your vision that you can't see a tornado far enough away that you can't get away or to safety?
Or it comes through in the middle of the night while you're asleep?
Or the fact that they move faster than you can walk or run?
Or the fact that it can lob a Buick like you would a softball?
Or the fact that it can lob ANY debris, fast enough to shoot through you like a bullet? -
Quote:If you want REAL scary, imagine dying old, blind, crippled and maybe crazy in a puddle of your own **** after having been in constant pain for years./this
especially about fires.
But I don't limit my zero sympathy to the rich flood victims. I spread it equally amongst most of the natural disasters that occur regionally. They know the damn things are going to happen sooner or later and they still chose to live there. Screw'em, they deserve it.
If I gotta go, make it fast, and because I'm rather misanthropic, make it SPECTACULARLY messy so everyone can see it and some poor schlub has to clean me off every available surface with a spatula. -
It can also kill you too. If the storm doesn't do enough damage to actually suck the house up, it could weaken it to the point that it collapses in on itself. And collapsing structures tend to try and fill the lowest point of the structure.

Quote:True, but the amount of money tells us whether to be recommending systems sporting GTX 560 cards and quad-core processors or something more moderate.Well, I would be just as happy with a desktop (happier, even if it gave better performance, cheaper). I just got used to playing on my current laptop, which is the best system I have at the moment, so I was kind of speaking with that in mind. I don't mind either way. Money is the biggest issue.

Quote:Exactly.Except in this case it's probably not a code problem per se but a server/raid/network configuration and integration problem that cropped up during the server hardware upgrade.
While they could pre-install the server side software on the new equipment, mirror a copy of the user accounts onto the new storage arrays, it isn't until you start final assembly of the whole system, shard servers, instance servers, e-mail server, global chat server, market server and get them to properly sync with each other that configuration problems crop up.
Once you think you've worked all of that out you open up the cluster to all us clients, you then can find other problems syncing between the servers as well as network traffic bottlenecks.
But once it appeared that player data was getting corrupted you have to hit the big red button and take the whole thing down, hoping you have captured enough data the track down the cause.
But as everyone knows, a hard drive blowing up, or a RAID controller freaking out on a newer driver or having an OS meltdown is all the devs' fault. They should have used their magical dev ***-pull powers to just make it not happen.
Right? RIGHT?

Quote:Honestly, I don't really want a market cap. It'd destroy the market and force most of the transactions off it.Mine would plummet.

I don't think I'd be alone. I believe people underestimate how bothersome and timeconsuming it is to have to arrange person to person trades. Even if you made 300% markups compared to now, if you're already making a billion or so per day in the current market it'd take a ridiculous amount of time to match that off the grid, compared to the time it takes on the market.
This might just be my perspective as an EU based player (timezones) with little connections speaking, and maybe things would get more organized if the market cap forced a significant amount of trades off it. Maybe. I have my doubts.
Then we'd REALLY be seeing qq. -

Quote:I hear they have prescriptions for that.In turn, I hope nothing actually bad ever happens to you, if this is how you react to a little unscheduled online-service downtime. You seem to be pretty short of cope.
And, failing in that, I've heard good things about this "lobotomy" procedure... -

Wasn't talking about you, but if the foo *****...
But you still want them to give you something for nothing...Quote:I've made concessions, acknowledging my faults and trying to convey that I'm not so obstinate that I can't empathize but
Again, unless you have a knowledge of programming on large multi-user products, you really are in no place to pass judgement.Quote:the company messed up on several approaches.
Again, the code in all areas could have been PERFECT. But certain modules interacting with one another (even done right) may have been the issue. Software interactions like this happen on a regular basis. Why do you think Microsoft patches every Tuesday?
Believe whatever you want. Your beliefs are irrelevant here, as has been stated before.Quote:I believe when you resort to being rude your case holds less water and what you have to say becomes less relevant. -
Quote:And are you working on thousands of lines of code with 100% PERFECT understanding of the interrelations of EVERY system and how it interfaces with every other?I'm not saying I'm infallible. I've made more than my fair share of mistakes in my line of work and when I screw up on the one thing I'm paid to do I forgo getting paid by not turning in my billable hours.
I kinda think not. If you had, we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.
Actually yeah. Yeah it was. To my knowledge, no data was lost or had to be backed out and undone. There've been several bugfixes in the last couple years that have caused people to lose stuff. Like...WHOLE CHARACTERS.Quote:This wasn't a mild slip up.
Because when HALF the game is down, people are screaming for the devs to bring it all down and FIX IT. Apparently you don't understand that to do the maintenance properly the game HAS to go down.Quote:The whole game went down.
So you lost AN evening (out of 31) of gameplay. Gimme a sec here. I'll summon up a Boo Frickin Hoo for ya...Quote:For nine hours.
Okay. No I won't.
Your phone company has a different contract with you. They're also a utility and subject to consumer laws and government jurisdictional precedents a game provider like Paragon isn't bound by.Quote:My phone company has reimbursed me for less.
Because it isn't the same thing at all. Being without a game for an evening doesn't do anything beyond force you to seek other venues of entertainment.Quote:I'm asking in the context of being a business, why should I expect anything less from NCSoft?
Being without phone service can endanger your life. -

Actually I'd be surprised if Netflix was working. They've been borked since last night.

Quote:And it's self-important douchebags making unwarranted demands on them, while simultaneously slinging insults that usually cause them to burn out so damn hard. It's really hard to keep caring about something when somebody keeps jabbing you with a poker every time you try to address it.Read the patch notes, play the game a bit. The devs love this game. They are not gonna do a shoddy job on it, because they care. Very few people work in game development, as programmers, without caring a lot. It is, apart from the love of the work, generally not regarded as a particularly great line of work. Long hours, lots of hassles, not the best pay.
