Quote:Hey. A lot of people could do a little due diligence and we wouldn't have these silly argu...I like how you took the time to read the EULA so you can prove people wrong on the foums.
Okay, I lied. This is the internet. We could have everyone on the fricking planet read this stuff, an OFFICIAL breakdown with agreement by every lawyer in the univers and people would STILL argue about it.
What the hell was I thinking? -
They HAVE given you something.
Upgraded servers.
A bit of time away from the computer. WHOOPS!
A lesson in the fact that, even at the enterprise level, IT is NOT a seamless bastion of problem-avoidance.
Feeling lucky yet? -
Quote:You want a pattern? This is all quite true, and approaching it philosophically will make getting through the short term easier. And yet...
What evidence do we have for this supposition? If anything, a pattern may be starting to emerge, as this is not the first time of late in which Paragon has had severe server problems. Moreover, the general circumstances are less likely to improve, given the imminent new issue, major change to the game, and (presumed) mass influx of new and returning players. Now is precisely not the time to start making the natives restless.
Howsabout this one?
Every Thursday the game was up in 2004.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2005.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2006.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2007.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2008.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2009.
Every Thursday the game was up in 2010.
Every Thursday, save the last two, that the game's been up in 2011?
Yep. I see a pattern all right!
Your common sense evidently didn't read the rest of the EULA about downtimes (both planned and otherwise).Quote:My common sense tells me that at the present, I am a subscriber to City of Heroes and therefore am entitled to access to the game for which I have paid. Every minute that I am unexpected cut off from this is money wasted. -

Quote:They're doing major hardware AND software updates. Things don't ALWAYS go smoothly when upgrading the bare iron. When I got some extra free time to play there's long unexpected maintenances.
Servers been down for all day now
Seriously whats wrong with this game?
We having more server down and unexpected maintenances this last months than ever.
The last time they upgraded the servers, we had intermittent problems like this too. But this is the Intarwebz. Memory? Wuzzat? -
Quote:What? You need to be on the action item list?It could but they aren't providing any meaninful feedback. Which is why some of these posters are here asking for an update of sorts. Weird.
College football begins in 1.5 hours...please hurry up and get the servers live. I would like to play a little before I attend an opening party.
<cries and moans more>
1: Try something
2: Doesn't work
3: Notify Clouded
4: Try something else
5: Doesn't work
6: Notify Clouded
7: Sit back and think about it for a minute.
8: Notify Clouded
9: Go to the bathroom
10: Notify Clouded
What EXACTLY do you expect them to do besides give you a long string of "Not fixed yet"s capped by a "fixed, servers coming back up"?
Common sense instead of self entitlement please. -

Quote:Bathtub curveThey just said another 2.5 hours downtime for ALL live servers . . . . frankly these last 2 "upgrades" have been ****.
[pardon my french but these last two upgrades have done nout 'cept more downtime, a whole thursday downtime more or less]
I'd rather they suffer this stuff NOW, when it just "a Thursday", than during Headstart or after full Live release of Freedom.
Having just futzed with a server that's been giving me problems for two...fscking...months and having to revise my plans for the server, I'm sympathetic.
My new server may be called "Godzilla" but *I* am the one who's been breathing streams of nuclear fire for most of the last couple months. -
Yes. Origins are essentialy meaningless. The only thing they affect are your origin power (VERY low level attack) and what specific types of non-IO enhancements you can use.

Quote:Hey guys Im quite new to cox 1 week actualy. Did play it 4 years ago for 2 months I think and a lot has changed since then in this game

Tell me how much money do I need do start the AE runs with this guide? Right now Im doing the missions and story arc with my characters (ss/wp brute rad/rad corr and plant/thorn dom) the normla way and just havng fun with the game. Im not into PL them I want to know the game first and play from lv1 to 50lv the normal way. But gaining tons of inf with a farmer to buy stuff for them would be cool.
In the guide it's said you need 1mil for the insp. to start the runs. If this is true how can a new player get 1mil inf to start? I guess in the AE right? But can I just run missions in the AE with xp off with one of my characters (so I don't outlevel the contacts) and get more inf than doing normal missions?
ps. sorry for the bad grammar Im in a internet caffe right now and don't have time to check how many mistakes I have made
Im better at speaking english than writing in it unfortunately.
You don't need a MILLION. Do the tutorial. Vendor the TO enhancements and put the two large inspies on the market. This should net you around 100-200K. That's enough to get going. -
Quote:No. She wasn't actually regenerating each time. The regeneration process, when not pushed by being critically wounded, is a more sedate event that the Time Lord can actually control. Additionally the process doesn't complete as soon as the form is changed. There's a 24 hour period during which some modicum of control can be exerted (such as the 10th Doctor regrowing a hand which was cut off).I was under the impression that Time Ladies didn't have any restrictions on the number of times they can regenerate. I distinctly remember Romana going thru half a dozen regenerations in the space of ten minutes, trying on new bodies/species for the Doctors approval before finally settling on the Lalla Ward version of Romana.
So she was "trying on" new forms all as part of the SAME regeneration. -
There's also Mr. Immortal.
Technically he'd "die". But after a couple minutes, up he'd pop. Alive again. -
Quote:I just remembered how they killed Wolverine in the Ultimate universe... Someone drowned him. Basically, the idea is as long as you don't destroy the part of the brain that causes the regen and it has enough time to regen Wolverine, Sabertooth, X-23, and Dakin? (Wolverine's Son) will all regen from anything... So Assumedly as long his brain is attached to a lung or his regen is fast enough (ie within several minutes) he will survive.
Which makes no sense considering that they BEHEADED Wolverine for a time in the Ultimates universe and he STILL lived. His "body" adapted by absorbing oxygen. -

They're a lot better if you're familiar with those Doctors first.

Quote:Make sure to nickname the new nephew "Tank" in retribution. That, and it had been in the server calendar for a number of days.
I also missed it, but because of a prolonged power outage and the arrival of a brand new nephew.
Still ticks me off since I was really looking forward to it, but couldn't help Real LifeĀ intruding. -

Quote:No. Still the same body. They're not body-snatchers. The process of massive repair that a Regeneration causes dramatically alters the appearance and general biology of the Time Lord. In the current series, they've addressed the issue of Time Lords actually changing gender with controlled regenerations. So when they do the Regen or Renewal thing are they jumping into somebody elses body, who was already walking around and had a life, or do they just appear fully formed in a new body out of nowhere?
If having that info is a spoiler thing feel free to say so and I will wait till I see it on the shows. Think I will pick up the first season of 05 today.
During the reign of the 4th Doctor, the fellow "Time Lady" Romana went through SEVERAL appearance changes when voluntarily regenerating before settling on the likeness of someone she and The Doctor had previously encountered.
Now the real brain-wiggler. ALL of these various incarnations of the doctor are out there now(ish), bouncing around time and space, throughout the universe (in a non-linear, semi-subjective sense) simultaneously, without ever really "bumping into" one another (though this has happened on several occasions in canon).
In order:
The Three Doctors
The Five Doctors
The Two Doctors
Dimensions in Time
Time Crash
