Those two links show cards in the 175-180 range, which seems about in my budget. I could maybe go 250.00 if the extra 60 bucks is a giant increase in quality and not a mere slide up. Or if that 60 bucks represents whether or not the thing will run next years bells and whistles.
If your budget is $250, I'd recommend a GTX 560 Ti instead. The performance bump is fairly small, but the card is eligible for the EVGA StepUp program for the first 90 days.
So, if around Christmastime, nVidia drops something newer and more powerful, and you want to move to the more powerful card (or you get it into your head to drop in a GTX 580), you can. You simply pay the difference in price between the two cards.
The card is $250 up front with a $20 Mail-In Rebate.
You want to look on your power supply FIRST before buying though. You're going to need 2 six-pin PCI-E connectors.

Added video walk-through today.
Had a couple failed attempts. First due to letting the sound drown out the voice portion. Then finding that recording at my native resolution (1920x1080) created video files too large to handle. -
nVidia just released their new 285.62 driver today.
Some of the updates include support for OpenGL 4.2 as well as some driver timeout fixes.
Currently downloading these myself. -

Anyhow, I am trying it again however, I am having difficulty with installing the .NET frameworks. I have .NET 1.1 installed on my machine but receive an error message every time I try to download .NET 2.0.
I get the following message;
Error 25015. Failed to install assembly 'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Mic rosoft.VisualBasic.Compatability.dll' because of system error: 0x80131107
I use windows xp and would appreciate any help. Hopefully, once I get past this hurdle, I wont have any problems downloading .NET 3.0 and 4.0...sigh.
Second: You may have certain items loading in that are preventing the install. Try this routine.
- Click on the Start menu, choose Run, type msconfig and click OK
- In the System Configuration tool, click on the Services tab
- Check the box labeled Hide all Microsoft services
- Click the Disable All button to disable all non-Microsoft services
- In the System Configuration tool, click on the General tab
- Click the Selective startup radio button
- Uncheck the box labeled Load startup items
- Click OK to accept all changes in the System Configuration tool
- Reboot for the changes to take effect
- Attempt to install the application that previously failed
- Re-run the System Configuration tool and re-enable the services that you disabled in step 4 above

Now if you're on an LCD this isn't usually an issue. However, it got me thinking. You're running at a fairly high resolution. Are you connected with a VGA or DVI cable?

In all of my testing, there's NOTHING wonky going on with any of the Titan network sites or apps. -

Okay, so I've come here before looking for answers but for the life of me, I can't find any of my older posts. Anywho, so I was looking at specs for my computer again and I remember someone telling me I could get up to 4GB of RAM on this.
I have a Compaq Presario SR5510F desktop. These are the RAM specs:
Installed Size: 2.0 GB / 4.0 GB (max)
Technology: DDR2 SDRAM
Memory Speed: 800.0 MHz
Memory Specification Compliance: PC2-6400
Form Factor: DIMM 240-pin
Configuration Features: 2 x 2 GB
So I was looking on the Best Buy website (comparison shopping) and I found a PNY Optima 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2 DIMM Memory. The specs all seem to match the RAM specs for my desktop.
Now, my question is: Would I be able to remove my 2 sticks of RAM and install 2 of the PNY sticks or would I just have to buy 1 PNY and install it with the 2 I already have, since there is an extra slot on the motherboard?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And any other advice on how to further upgrade my desktop would be helpful as well

Recommend going online to a dedicated memory retailer like Crucial.
Guaranteed compatibility and should be cheaper than what you're buying off the shelf. -

Afterburner is a flight power that adds a bunch of defense and other stuff, but sets you to "affects self". So it's useless in combat situations unless you don't mind not attacking. -

That's still a heck of a lot of time and effort for a single IO, especially on something like an Invul tanker that can soft-cap fairly easily without it.
Personally, I don't think it's worth it, and don't recommend it my sample builds unless the person already has it or has expressed a willingness to get one and knows what it takes to do it.
With the PVP IO the major compromise is one of time investment (or money investment for the terminally impatient). -
Dumb question. If you get knocked down but have a self-res, are you truly defeated?
