Quick! Someone go dig up Fred Gwynne and staple him back together! He's got a part to play!

At those levels of defense, the extra 80% regen isn't going to make a huge difference.
And I repeat:Quote:Plus...you have a two (2) 2.5 billion influence IOs in that build. The one slotted in health...which is really not worth it...and the glad +def in SoW.
And I agree. I was merely mimicing the original build as I didn't know what he does and doesn't already own.Quote:Note: You can dump the PVP IO and you're still close enough to soft-cap that it shouldn't make a difference. Your regen would still be huge and more, your attack chain would be sustainable (Recovery of 4 End/Sec (plus three PerfShifters) and Resting End Use of 1.42/sec). Plus the option for Conserve Power if you're really in a bind.
True, and on the build I put up, he'd have endurance to spare. So swapping back to FA might be a better choice.Quote:Tactics...sure...it's less endurance than Focused Accuracy...but it's only 1% Tohit better...minus the +Acc...minus the tohit debuff resistance...which should be the main reason for picking up FA anyways.
Well, in lieu of dropping a PVP IO in SOW, change it out for SJ...Quote:Also...no travel power.
Honestly, with Beast/Ninja Run and the various travel temps, a travel power is less vital to a build nowadays. -

1: No +Acc slotted in your ST attacks. Even with Rage and FA, you aren't going to be hitting much. Drop the KinCombat KD procs. 20% chance of KD isn't worth never hitting anything.
2: You're running 10 toggles. Your resting endurance consumption is CRAZY. Even though you're rocking three PerfShifter procs, I'd still be worried about slurping yourself dry in combat.
3: I know you're trying to go for max +HP to milk the most from regen. However, with 49% defense to everything you're never going to see it put to good use.
While it's expensive (and they're hard as hell to get), consider foregoing the LOTG 3-piece bonus in favor of LOTG+Rech, Cytoskeleton, Cytoskeleton (or Enzyme, Enzyme if you can find them).
The Cytox2 will bring your defense down a LITTLE, but it'll add decent Endurance Reduction and bring your resting endurance consumption under better control
4: You're relying on Stealth to soft-cap. Remember that once you attack or are attacked, Stealth suppresses. And you have Rise to the Challenge WHICH IS A TAUNT AURA working to draw enemies to you, even stealthed.
5: No taunt. WP tanks have what is likely the weakest taunt aura in the game. And, as you're eating endurance points like they're going out of style, belching, then screaming for "MOAR!", you're not going to be able to retain aggro by relying on Gauntlet.
6: You took Focused Accuracy instead of Tactics. Tactics provides more +ToHit and half the endurance consumption.
7: Take a serious look at Spiritual Radial. -
Well, logged in today post-patch and went to check a couple of my IO factory toons. Two of them (both on Protector) had NOTHING in the Auction House.
REALLY odd since I had them stuffed to the gills with product as of 2AM this morning.
Note: Stuff was not SOLD. The market interface showed I had nothing bought, sold, or held.
And in both cases nothing was returned to my enhancement trays. One person ended last night with full IO trays (all three of them), a full salvage tray, and a full Vault. On the other, they were 4-5 IOs short of a full set of enhancement trays. They still were.
I immediately hit every other one of my factory toons to double-check.
I then made rounds to a couple toons that had some VERY valuable IOs for sale (one being my main, the other being my primary Purple crafter). None of them were missing anything. Or I'd be using stronger language right now.
-
And I logged on post-patch today to see that two of my common-IO market toons, which I left with filled market slots last night, were EMPTY today. Not sold. EMPTY.
I both bugged and petitioned it.
They're just lucky it wasn't my main who's selling off Purples right now. Or my main Purple crafter.
Losing a couple billion wouldn't really hurt me any, but I'd STILL be ticked off and calling for someone's manhood on a platter. -
Quote:Yeah, I remember seeing it first run and felt like I was one of the few people who did see it at the time. I also remember feeling disappointed that the TV series that was supposed to come from it fell through. Paul McGann at least was able to continue his series run through the radio shows.
And Paul hated that damn wig they put him in. He had his own ideas about what The Doctor would look like. Here's his own depiction of The Eighth Doctor back in 2010. Look somewhat familiar?

Quote:Here's a quick vid demonstrating it too. That is brilliant! Thank you so much, I wish I had known that years ago! I have my TP beacons like that, only I did it the hard way.
You're probably going to punch yourself with how easy it is.
Note: For things like telepads where you want the beacons at a specific height (like Tech pads so the beacon doesn't clip with the bases), you can float the cubicle traditionally. -
Quote:Basically you can use cubicles as "wall" surfaces.I had been using shoji lamps to bring wall items out, what is the cubicle technique? Which item specifically do you use? I'm on vacation Right now, so I can't actually look at the list.
I can't believe there has (maybe) been an easier way to do this...
I use them to mount beacons on telepads.
You place the telepad wherever you need it, then place the cubicle where you need to mount the beacon. Mount the beacon to the cubicle wall and then take away the cubicle.
You wind up with things like this:

You can also mount the beacons and other wall items to things like the glass supergroup dividers too. -
Quote:It was a movie that was supposed to be a back-door pilot to a new series. That wasn't a movie. It was a pilot for a American boot of the TV series that didn't get past that stage due to the lack of interest from the American audience for it at the time. Plus, it is counted as cannon for the TV series continuity, and Paul Mcgann the Official Seventh Doctor, which the Peter Cushing movies aren't.
Actually it wasn't a lack of interest from the audience. It was purely craptacular mis-handling by Fox. Poor advertising, they dropped it into a timeslot that had it going head-to-head with hugely popular shows of the time, and in some areas, it was pre-empted by more than an hour (forgetting what pre-empted it the moment, my brain's making a sound suspiciously like PBBBBBBT!)
As such, the ratings stateside were DISMAL (and that's only if you're a crack-addled, hyperactive optimist). As such, the interest from Universal and Fox was something rapidly approaching ZERO.
Without the interest (and cash influx), the reboot project died. -
Agreed about 30-trillion percent here.
It's irritating as hell to be unable to use costume pieces in a universal fashion due to things like this. -

Quote:This actually IS the right section for this.Wrong Section, sorry all.
UPDATE:
Does anyone know where the technical support section is? It's been a while since I needed it, I can't seem to find it. (I blame my advanced age)
Thanks!
However we may or may not always be able to help you better than calling NCSoft Support will.
However, look down in my sig for "Asking for Help". Paste the info back here and maybe we can figure out what's going on. Be it driver issue, or something else. -
Quote:A GTX 460 1GB might be a good choice for a "cheap" video card.Quote:So you guys agree that a ~$200 card would get me more of a performance upgrade than ~$160 for windows 7 and another 2 gigs memory?
I guessed the opposite. I should have pulled a Costanza and gone with the opposite of my first reaction.
Thanks for the opinions. Others feel free to chime in to agree or disagree.
Edit: *Looks up Micro Center* The closest would be about 5 hours away in Atlanta. Is it that much cheaper than what i could get from Newegg or equivalent?Quote:I agree that a video card would be a better choice over RAM/OS but probably not the choice I would do.Quote:GPU is the only quick fix. The only thing other than that which would see significant improvement is a new GPU+New Motherboard+New Processor+New Ram.
I had to do the same thing to improve my system. Fortunately there were enough good sales going on that I was able to do it relatively cheaply.
Okay I'm going to have to disagree here. Sorry guys.
He's on 32-bit Windows maxed at 4GB of RAM (3 actually). And you want him to plonk in a 1GB video card?
Essentially what is going to happen here is that you're cutting down on available system memory for things besides the OS. This may or may not impact performance in the game, but it'll definitely impact long-term stability of the client in-game.
So we're kinda 6 of one, a half dozen of the other.
Bionic, what kind of budget do you have?
Also, are you planning on overclocking?
I know it's a pain but:

You've answered a good chunk of what's needed already. But your budget is the big one here.
Both for yourself and your kids' computers. -
Okay they need to rent a cement mixer, toss a bunch of 2x4's in there, spin it up as fast as it'll go and then record the sound from inside. That should be the sound of Vorpal.

Quote:Still not worth it. Huge power consumption and not faster in gaming than a i7 2600K. Pretty much these CPUs are NOT aimed at desktop/workstation users.AMD has possibly launched the first salvo in the next generation of CPU's!
FLOPS. FLoating point Operations Per Second. Not the same thing as a processing cycles. And depending on software optimization, can vary wildly from application to application.Quote:Do you mean flops as in going to fail? Or flops as in processing cycles. I can't tell.
Besides heat a room? Not a lot.
If you don't mind burning off "Little afocks and the twins" and having like 45 minute battery life.
It's still faster to run a GPU client if you have anything newer than a GTX260. -
Quote:What "exploit"?None of this is really relevant, as the change was made to plug an exploit. Fair or not, SSA alignment merits for sub-20 characters aren't coming back unless someone both comes up with another way to avoid the exploit and can get the resources allocated to implement it.
Simply defining anything you happen to be arguing against as an "exploit" doesn't make it so. -
Going to need some Pantene on those split hairs.
Seriously, the difference between the two is meaningless in the context we're talking about.
The end result is that a person who has NOT partaken of the Alignment system is in possession of AN ALIGNMENT MERIT. -

Quote:Actually, I've found, in the interim, that single-clicking enhancements while the market interface is open moves them as well. And it takes significantly more time to lock out that way (can get 12-15 in before I worry about locking). Possibly the issued with double-clicking (since it moves on the first click) sets up a nasty client check when nothing is actually moved over on the second and subsequent clicks.Notably if you are moving enhancements from your try to the market by double clicking on them it will freeze after 5 or so enhancements (using drag and drop generally avoids this).
Actually listing for a price I don't have an issue with most of the time. I can knock out 40 common IOs this way in short order just by being lazy with my wrist moving to expand the item, then back over to Post it.Quote:Similarly listing a number items by repeatedly clicking on the "post" button can cause a freeze (again, pausing a bit between transactions will generally avoid it). -
Quote:Variety reports:
There have been a lot of interviews with Doctor Who folks in which they've speculated about doing a movie eventually, but this is the first concrete news.Quote:Yates made clear that his movie adaptation would not follow on from the current TV series, but would take a completely fresh approach to the material.
"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.
Great. Peter Cushing. The DWho-over. -
Okay. Lowbies CAN generate alignment merits at Fort Trident (and thus, should be able to do so red-side too).
As proof, I took my level 17 bubbler (Bubbleshot) on Exalted, claimed my vet merits (she had more than a few from TFs already), and pulled exploration accolades in Steel Canyon and Atlas Park to round it out to 50 merits.
Already have her working the market so 20 mil wasn't hard to come by.
Click on the images to get full-size (WARNING! 1920x1080!)

And, in case you think I photoshopped it out. Here's a link to the video.
As such, it's majorly suck-tastic that people on low-level characters who are able to run the SSA missions aren't being given an option to take a reward that IS otherwise available to them. -
Quote:One other thing you can do, though it's a bit pricey, is to purchase the Enhancement Tray upgrades. This'll give you access to 30 enhancement tray slots total. More stuff you can pull off. I was able to strip just about everything valuable off an old L50 build in 2 respecs.I realize I can only pull a few Hami-Os off the build during a respec, so this is probably an intermediate step to an IO build, or maybe this is the SO/HO build I play when I'm premium and don't have an inventions license.
And the Suckerpunch planner is still offline...
One other thing. A what-month vet are you? Your forum date is 2005. If you've been a vet for that entire time, you don't have to worry about IOs not working. You'll already have sufficient rewards standing to stay on IOs.
