I am still not terribly impressed with the arc, but at least now it's heading somewhere.

I just wish it didn't exemplar me to 40. I hope the last few episodes finally go to 50. It doesn't make much sense for (what's left of) the Phalanx to be fighting level 40 stuff.

Funny. I didn't see George Michael in there anyplace.

Yeha. Don't get me wrong. If you were to get one for gaming, it'd do okay. But Intel is better bang for the buck right now.

but tbh most of the recently converted Apple using friends I have complain about viruses and freezing and etc, a problem I never had on windows (although I never used Me or Vista) - and on my previous mac I ran XP for months without going to OS X because of CoX and never had problems, despite disliking XP's interface (I like 7 a lot tho).
    Yep.

But if I were a serious gamer I'd have bought a PC because while I'm enjoying that for now I can run Skyrim at almost max settings for example (I can do max if I drop to 1920x1080 but at the native res from my display I have to tone down some things but it looks better in native anyway), I know it won't last long due to not being able to replace the GPU, and besides CoX it's the only PC game that has gotten me hooked for a long time - and for gaming the conversions are sucky sometimes because of those emulation shenanigans I don't understand well, I use the windows client on CoX because I can play on max 'everything' for 12 hours straight if I want, the mac client crashes about once per hour no matter what I do, I bet you checked out the flood of complaints in the mac forums here.
Yeah. I've seen them. Unfortunately, you get all these little nasties when you have to deal with emulation. In a perfect world, everything in emulation would "just work". Reality is a bit nastier though.

Nope. They don't outperform equivalent Intel setups in gaming. Nor do they outperform equivalent Intel setups in server duties. It's something of a massive boondoggle for AMD at this point. The chips are huge, power-sucking beasts that simply don't deliver. POSSIBLY the next generation of the chip might be more palatable, after they do some platform tweaking and lower the power requirements (a die shrink could do wonders for them).

I could go read anandtech and all but I'm looking for a simple answer for now - I'll probably need a notebook next year and I was an AMD fan until 2000 when I started using Apple - so I'll look for a 15.6 gaming notebook in 2012, my 27 inch imac is not exactly suited for travel (and yeah all my friends who say they have 'seen the light' because here in my country the Apple crazy began like, 2 years ago, find me strange for liking windows and preferring Android over the iPhone, I guess I just like variety. Funny thing is, I was actually flamed by lots of them on facebook when I posted 'wow Windows 7 runs really smooth on my core duo 1.66 mac' - my previous mac that was struggling with OS X - and whenever they need Apple tech support they come to me lol).
I'm just going to say that I am, emphatically, NOT the market segment that Apple is looking to service and leave it at that. Apple had their "Hook 'em while they're young" chance back in the late 70's with me. An uncle of mine decided to have me go PC instead and I've been thanking the man ever since. I'm just not constitutionally capable of being told that fixed platform is "all I need".

Apple would never understand someone who was doing full immersion liquid cooling. I think my pics of my lexan setup are still floating around someplace. Maybe I'll post them sometime.
  5. Okay. Anyone else having this issue?

I had a paper mission I used for a brute so he could build up tip missions quickly. Post patch yesterday:
    • Mission title gone from "Defeat Archon Rossi and Guards" to "Defeat BOSS_NAME and Guards"
    • Now on a different map.
    • All enemies in the mission are gun turrets.
  6. Well, AMD have bet the kids' college fund on their new architecture. If they don't push it and deprecate their old stuff, it's money wasted.

Granted, the platform was money wasted anyhow, but still.

Yep. I'd go and make sure on each of the tabs just to be safe. But once you've eyeballed it, if you wanna pull the trigger, BANG BANG!

If that is now resolved then the NVidia GPUs tend to have better drivers for CoH although 11.9 is pretty good for AMD GPUs.
Currently nVidia is the less-probelmatic platform for CoH. About the only time the drivers have real problems is when the underlying system can't keep the GPU supplied with data (the "timeout" error that some people have been having).

  18. I'm coming in just above your budget here but.

    http://www.ibuypower.com/Store/Intel...urator/w/95426

Start on their Intel Z68 configurator.

Change the CPU to i5 2500K
Leave memory as is (Free upgrade from 4GB to 8GB)
    Bump power supply to 650W
Bump video card to nVidia GTX560 Ti 2GB (Free upgrade from a 1GB card).
Head on to the next tab and add Windows 7 Home Premium (Unless any software you're using REQUIRES Win7 Pro).

About $1210 shipped with a 3 year warranty.

I know it's a bit outside your budget. But that cost is primarily the OS and shipping. The fact that hard drives have nearly doubled in price doesn't help either. If you already own a copy of Windows 7 and aren't squeamish about installing, you can cut out about $110. The shipping's unavoidable.

Yeah, they MIGHT run into a spammer every now and again. But, essentially, what you're asking is that they take up residence.

Why? Because intermittent visits aren't any more effectual than responding to reports of RMT spammers.

Now please carry on telling my why my "non-existent" suggestion won't work.
You mean besides the fact that:

    1. The GMs can't (as in CAN NOT) camp in Atlas Park (16 server shards, some with multiple instances of the zone) 24x7?
    2. That there are how many instances of WW in multiple zones, in multiple instances on multiple servers?
    3. The accounts being used to spam are throw-aways with the real money being moved through a website and the inf transaction happening in private chat with real accounts?

My YouTube and Google Video accounts are quite in good standing and have existed for years. Yet I was still prompted for this (and one of my videos truncated) before I was allowed to upload longer videos again.

    • Every time I go into Wentworths in Atlas Park there is some character called "dfgyutf" or some such, spamming Local. Every time, without fail

If an online GM visted AP Wentworths they'd get to ban someone every single time, perhaps its something they could do when they aren't directly following up a call?

Maybe its time to add phrases like "urgamestore" to the profanity filter?

    Rant rant rant.

Ignore As Spammer silences the person for you and generates a petition to the GMs.

However, the RMT spammers outnumber the GMs and the GMs have more duties than simply getting rid of every RMT spammer that pops up. Worse, the RMTers are using throwaway accounts to broadcast.

As I said, the GMs are kept busy, so they can't sit in WW all the time.

The GMs can't block based on IP address because there's no guarantee the IP address isn't spoofed or a proxy portal address. Moreover, with the state of NAT and DHCP, they stand a good chance of blowing out a number of legitimate users at the same time, and having the spammers back in minutes on a different IP address.

This is not something you can use the "go nuclear" option on. It doesn't work. The only thing that works is deprecating and/or removing the incentives to utilize RMT. Even penalizing people for using RMT doesn't help a hell of a lot. There's always going to be SOMEONE convinced that they can get away with it (and be right).

While I understand your irritation, it's not productive.

No. This is to keep video file sizes manageable. Beyond that, some tools have problems handling the files.

    2) Since I seem to be stonewalling into this gig limit, is there a way to splice two or more vids together, maybe even once uploaded to YouTube?
I use Camtasia Studio to combine my files into a single work. Most other video editing packages out there should allow you to drop successive video files onto a "timeline". Then combine and upload them as a single work.

I have several 20+ minute videos up on my YouTube channel to testify to this.

Actually you're going to have long uploads for long videos regardless.
Just make sure you unlock your YouTube account's ability to host long videos (requires a cell phone that can accept text messages).

Thing is. The regeneration limit is an artificial barrier put in place by the Time Lords. They were capable of bypassing it when the situation called for it (such as when they offered The Master) a new set of regenerations.

Now that the Time Lords are out of the picture, there likely isn't any sort of limiter in effect now, save mischance and lack of access to proper facilities in which to regenerate.
