Honestly. I think everyone needs to just step back, take a couple deep breaths and chill.
If not, I'll have to get upset. And you wouldn't like me when I'm upset. Because I'm like

Quote:When we initially badged for the bombs, it was noticed that the team sometimes earned multiple credits for planting bombs at the same time.
What happened: If two or more people clicked and cued up the bomb glowie at nearly the same time, all would go off and count as 'planted' for the badge. As long as the timer-bar was counting down, the game didn't create an exclusion because of another bomb planting. I'm not sure if this behavior has been changed, but at the time we managed to get off up to five bombs on a single group click.
Since you have a highly organized method and group of players already, you might want to check into setting off all 18 bombs simultaneously without messing around with dropping people from team.
I'd be interested to see if it can be done! (film at 11?)
Hmm. Interesting. -
Quote:Turn off Windows Updates.I checked in my Dx Diag and they were reporting the correct date...Win7 presumably just downloaded the default drivers on install, I had no control over that one. But thanks.
Hm. Win7 seems to be controlling my driver downloads. I'm still negotiating my way around it (don't like how i have to set 'Run as Admin' for seemingly everything), so should I just be doing a search for current Realtek/ATI drivers?
Update: ARGH! Every time I try and update to 11.9, the stupid Install Manager pushes it back to the 8 drivers! How do I get around this?
S.
- Start Button
- In the search box type Windows Updates.
- Down the left-hand side, click Change Settings.
- Reboot into Safe Mode.
- Control Panel
- Programs
- Uninstall a program
- Strip out any ATI drivers.
- Run a driver cleaner
- Since you're on ATI, you'll want to decide whether to install something like the 11.3 drivers (the ones people seem to have had the fewest problems with). or the 11.11 (the very latest).
- Also (not sure if ATI has it since I haven't touched ATI in years), if it gives an option for a "clean" install, take it.
- Reboot and turn Windows Updates back on.

Quote:I do the same thing on my laptop all the time. My laptop's a couple years old, but every now and again the hard drive just isn't fast enough to keep up if the files are badly fragmented. With the risk of jinxing it...
defragging my C drive seems to have fixed it. I've jsut zoned in and out of missions 10 times now and no freeze.
Thanks for the help
Don't have the same problem on my main system though (SSD in RAID-0). -
Scooped by newchemicals.
Yeah. That's pretty much what I'd recommend right there. -
Quote:This has been reported already. He's basically got to put in a control to lock out a single-attack "chain". Technically a single attack isn't a chain, it's a spam. When I input an attack chain of 1 with 7 powers entered into the program, the program went into an infinite (or at least extremely long with no apparent end) calculating mode.
Yeah. I've also noticed that AoEs are deprecated out.Quote:Also, the program will tell you not to use AOE but only single target powers. It's difficult to determine how to value AOE compared to single target for the purposes of optimizing attack chains. I've heard AOEs are usually valued at 2.5 times their stated damage assuming more than one target is being fought, but I'm not sure if that's a good approach or not. -

Quote:Run a repair on your game files.Since the latest patch i'm experiencing some game freeze when i zone.
It seems very random, no issues when actually in a zone, its only when zoning between them.
Then, if you have a defragger that just does individual files (*Kisses PerfectdDisk*), defrag the PIGGs. It may be your hard drive is burping when it has to search all over hell and back for file fragments. -
I'm having issues with the next enemies just not selecting at times.
Sometimes I'll kill an enemy, hit a next attack and the HUD will grab someone and I attack.
But a lot of the time lately, I'll be standing there doing jack **** because it won't targetenemynext. I wind up having to MANUALLY select a target with my mouse. -
-
Don't do that.
The only time you wanna do that is when you're slurping in updates during patch day.Quote:I can start it manually.
You...leave it...up?Quote:It sits there in its tray doing nothing.
*Mutters to self* Hoo boy. LONG way to go with this'un.
In short:

Read it. Use it. STOP WORRYING ABOUT THE LAUNCHER EVER AGAIN!
No. Let's face it, the launcher is an app that really isn't meant to be kept up 24/7. Especially not when it's done its job (launching the game). Leaving it live in memory is just bad. Even if it wasn't prone to memory leaks.Quote:Let's face it... the launcher is junk and we were forced into it but it's an unreliable piece of excreta that's clogging up my PC and I LOATHE AND DETEST IT WITH A PASSION!
Set up properly, on a well-maintained system, and the launcher is quite reliable. I've had exactly 2 (TWO!!) instances where the launcher has failed on me and needed to be restarted. That's a pretty decent track record.
Again, read the guide, optimize your use of the launcher and soldier on.Quote:It's getting to be close to a deal breaker for me -

Hmm. My "optimal" attack chain on my Inv/SS tank is either 7 attacks long.
7 puts out 106.348 and 3.400 end/sec and zero latency.
While my recovery is less than that (3.26/sec), given I have two PerfShifters and Conserve Power, I can effectively keep that up forever.
Something worrying though.
Once you get into longer attack chains, it's not always returning the same values. You walk up and hit generate for 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 attacks, it returned one value. Do the same walking back from 16 to 13 it returned a different attack chain with a wildly different dps. -
Honestly, as long as you're not expecting blazing performance, super-high resolutions or stupid-high graphical settings you should be okay.
Load times are a byproduct of how fast your network connection is, how fast your storage medium (disk drive) is, and how fast your CPU can churn stuff.
On a laptop, expect longer load times unless you're running an SSD. -

Quote:1: Just post the CoH Helper and HJT logs here.Great point Hyper, most people think it's a graphic issue and I wasn't sure that's why I posted this... Thing is I have 2 machines same built and it's happening on both and I didn't even think of upgrading the sound drivers! The sound card I am using on both is the Xonar Dx, should I take them out and just use the onboard sound?
I can redo the coh helper and hijack and send it to you via email if that's cool?
Thank you very much for your help on this
2: Check to see if you're on the latest drivers. If not, update.
3: Check to make sure you have the on-board sound device disabled in the BIOS. This way Windows doesn't get corn-fused about which device it's supposed to be using.
4: If it continues, try removing the sound card from one of the machines and use the on-board. -

Quote:Give us a dump of your CoH Helper and HijackThis logs.I am running a gtx 560 ti and from time to time I will get this crash which the game freezes and there is a sort of sound loop affect which causes me to have to reboot the machine to get rid of it... I contacted CS and they had me do a game advisor and the answer they came up with was, upgrade to a beta driver which didn't work even rolling the drivers back didn't work. I don't think it's a sound issue because I am running a seprate sound card I have 16 gigs of ram and 1 gig on the card the os is win 7 pro 64 bit. Some people say it's a client issue at this point I have no idea... is anyone else dealing with this?
Likely your sound driver is crashing and taking the game down with it. -
Or if you want the crazy "I have more Inf than brains" build.

Quote:I just so happen to have an FF/Archery defender and this is how I built it out:Ok, so I have been playing heroes off/on for 2-3 years now and have never made a Force Field Defender. I don't really have a build, but I know what I want. So ANY and ALL help would be appreciated. I would like to slide stealth in there, because it's a handy power and I would like to bring as close to def s/c as possible. Anything else that you think would help or benefit me I will definitely consider. So thanks in advance!! I don't really know which ancillary is best, or what alpha would be most advantageous to choose. So any and all help, suggestions, or critiques would be helpful as well.
Thanks
Capped to E/N/Ranged/AoE and 35.8% S/L. Some decent S/L and Energy resists underneath that turn it into a mini-tank. It's also a fairly nasty sapper with LOTS of "Get the hell offa me" built in for damage mitigation.
As built, it doesn't exemp all that great, but at 47-50, it feels just as safe as one of my tanks.
