That and the problems with RSI that touchscreen technology creates. And the issues with interfaces without some sort of physical feedback for touch-typing.

Currently you're ridiculously overslotted in in several powers (one of which is an "Oh Crap!" button godmode with a nasty crash at the end that should only EVER be used in DIRE emergencies).
Also, you are COMPLETELY unslotted for real damage. Most of your heavily slotted stuff is slotted for knockback. On an Invuln tank, knockback is the enemy! Your defenses rely on you keeping hordes of enemies around to keep your defenses high.
On a different melee secondary, I'd say "Sure, keep Spring Attack!" But you've already got THREE (count 'em!) AoE attacks (Whirling Axe, Cleave, and Pendulum).
Here's a quickie build. Not optimal power placement (SIIIIIIIIIIIIDEKIIIIIIIIICK!!!). But it should work fairly well.
You're not QUITE soft-capped on S/L or F/C. A single set of Kinetic Combats in place of one set of Smashing Haymaker will cap you for S/L while you're close enough to the F/C softcap that you honestly shouldn't need the extra half-percent or so.
If you can get a couple of KinCombat sets together, you can start doing other things. Like swapping in some LOTG +Recharge IOs and LOTG Defense IOs. While your defense will come down a little for E/N and F/C, you'll welcome the recharge and the additional Regen.

Quote:Stop trying to pick up on the jailbait Father!Sorry, you simply look "young" in your photos (young meaning somewhere between post puberty and 30), no disrespect intended it's just I'm lousy judging a young woman's age from a photo.
Still "ski bunny" is the first thing that pops into my head when I look at that sweater.

Okay, suggestion if you're buying in pieces, BUY THE VIDEO CARD LAST!
Right now nVidia's on the cusp of rolling out it's next-gen stuff. But even if you don't get one of them, the current generation of cards will drop in price.
As for AMD vs Intel. Just go Intel. AMD is essentially a waste of money right now.
Intel i5 2500K CPU $220
Intel Z68 motherboard $190
8+GB of DDR3 memory $47 (Known compatible with the motherboard)
Case (whatever blows your skirt up)
650W or better PSU $175
Still getting boned rough and raw by the hard drive crisis right now $180
Current pick for Video Card:
Either a
1GB GTX 560 Ti $250
or a
2GB GTX 560 Ti $280
Optical: You can get yourself a DVD burner or a Blu-Ray player.
With a bit of judicious shopping, you may be able to fit this into your budget. -

Well, just got a gigantic "DENIED" on hooking up my TV. Got a cable that bridges the distance between my PC and my TV just fine. But the HDMI connector on the card is jammed all the way at the top of the card and the HDMI plug doesn't fit! Now the actual CONNECTOR would fit just fine. But the damn PLUG portion simply will NOT fit.
Okay figured it out. The connector is a MINI-HDMI to HDMI. Not HDMI to HDMI or Micro-HDMI to HDMI.
Quick trip back to the store to get the right connector and BOOM.
Pushing a picture across from my phone now. -
Quote:I can also confirm this is definitely NOT the norm. You might want to expand the blame for this beyond Windows... like maybe a rootkit or something else weird going on, but in all the Win7 machines I've been working on (gettin' to be about 100 in my operations now) none of them do this 'auto arrange' reset. They stay like they're supposed to.
It may be "middleware" (aka crapware) installed by the PC manufacturer/vendor. -
Quote:I think Invincibility will likely need to be changed to a constant buff rather than a scaling buff if they keep to past scaling powers for Stalkers (WP and EA).
Tough Hide seems like the obvious choice to go with replacing for Hide, as Hide will replace the defense aspect of Tough Hide.
Though I wouldn't be suprised if it was Resist Energies, if they want to help keep the set more focused on not being hit, which tends to favor the Stalker playstyle for many.
If they really want to keep it awesome for Stalkers, I'd keep Tough Hide, replace Resist Energy for Hide, and rename Resist Physical Damage to Resist Damage and have it resist all that Resist Physical Damage and Resist Energy Damage can.
Honestly, no, I don't want them to chuck ANY of the resists.
If a power has to be moded, let it be Invincibility. It'd have to be changed anyhow with the aggro aura it puts out. Let Invinc be modded into the stealth power. Provides a big boost to defense when hidden and a smaller boost when out of hide. -
Having to uninstall and reinstall over the directory in C:\program files (x86)\Titan Network\
Okay something REALLY screwy is going on.
I uninstalled Mid's, wiped out the directory and reinstalled. It starts up as 1.953. I go to RE-start the app, and it starts up as 1.952.
I uninstall and wipe the directory. Then I reinstall to a new location. It starts up as 1.953. I go to restart the app, and it starts up as 1.952.

Quote:Steve Jobs said he didn't like desktops with touch screens because it's too painful to use it (literally). The thing is, he was *right*. I tried propping up my iPad and tapping it like it's a monitor once, and my arm and shoulder were hurting within minutes.
People like to be able to rest their arm on a surface to use a computer for a long period of time, which is why a mouse works so well. Unfortunately, putting a touch screen monitor flat on a desk will give you neck pain.
One day we'll have some sort of vertical 3D interface where you interact with it on the desk surface, but you don't have to look down to see what you're doing...
Actually the whole "gorilla arm" issue was known well before Jobs. -
Quote:You probably created her account as a normal user account. If you had any shared icons (normally found in "All Users"), you probably originally created them as an admin account. Meaning that they share your permission levels and need to be removed by another admin account.Probably the thing that annoyed me the most about XP was the wizards I could never find the off switch for that kept offering to "clean up my desktop" :/
By the way, set up another account for my mom to use on my computer a while back, and it won't let her delete desktop shortcuts to my games because of "insufficient" permission - is there a way around that, (I've set UAC to never notify) or is it a permanent feature of "User Access Censorship"? -
Quote:I got a Blu-Ray Home Theater in A Box that can do Netflix. Now I no longer have to rely on my Roku. Finally forced me to unpack my big screen TV again.Ok, the day is here, for some of us it's already over!
What geek swag did you get given then? Anything good?
Me, I got a really cool Batman Manga Graphic Novel, very 1966 in style, with loads of colour photo's of toys from that era in it as well from my good lady
Also, got a Doctor Who 3D Chess Set, latest Doctor, 3D in that it's got lenticular images in the peices that move as you look at them
But now, I'm needing an extra HDMI cable. Playing CoH on a 24" monitor's cool. Playing it on my big screen (at 1920x1080 no less) should rock... -
Quote:I just pin my commonly used apps to the start menu instead of the taskbar. Prevents the task bar from getting crowded. You know Windows 7's obsessive need to rearrange the desktop, and re-shuffle the Start menu so that you can't use either without problems, forced me to cram icons for everything into the tiny quick launch in the task bar?
Also, the only thing the start menu should be doing is alphabetizing your apps. Something I used to have to manually make it do. I'm just peeved about how they added extra layers of crap (yes, crap) to the Control Panel. Now we have to have irrelevant "sections" in the control panel instead of nice, tightly defined control launchers. And the network center...
[/quote]Quote:P.S. This is not a Mac vs PC thing - I have complaints about the Dock getting in the way on my Mac too, but I personally find somebody moving my stuff without asking to be higher on the annoyance scale. And I want them to fixitfixitfixit!!!
Oh, but you're "Just not the market segment Apple is aiming for".
TBH, I can't stand the Mac interface. -
Quote:Agreed.Windows 8 brings out my inner rage.
It's the OS that says "you're too dumb to use a computer, so we're going to make you spend $1000 for a tablet without a touch screen".
...sigh...
They've basically regressed the computer interface to a Tivo. Kinda of meh-okay if all you're doing is CONSUMING things. Absolute donkey if you're actually trying to DO things with the system.
I have the same problems with Office and the idiot "ribbon" interface. Let's just get rid of a comprehensive menu system where you can find ANYTHING and distill it down into a dumb, undescriptive, unhelpful interface of a few buttons!

Oh. That was YOU in the "Floor Inspector's Union: Local 2814" t-shirt, planking in that last iTrial.
I'd have helped, but I was too busy, y'know, tanking. -
Quote:Tacky is buying reusable diapers when they've already said they aren't washing poo bags and in fact already have several boxes of disposables to get started on because not everyone is a god damn hippy and you can't ******* guilt trip me into using them
Well, cloth diapers would make more economical sense. But yeah, they don't want to wash poopy diapers.
Hell, got a look at their storage room downstairs the other night. Dear fricking GOD! Someone at Huggies is getting a bonus this year! -

I did Toys R' Us last year. Granted, I did it on Christmas Eve when it was FLIPPIN' RIDICULOUS!, but I haven't got the slightest clue what to get kids nowadays. And since I'm a computer and comic geek, I have almost nothing in common with a 4 year old girl who is into collecting My Little Pony and a 6 year old cousin who's main hobby seems to be destroying things.
And this year, my present was family tech support for my parents and brother in the form of:
- Brand new backup hard drive
- A copy of Acronis True Image Plus 2012
- A copy of Perfect Disk 12.5
- And the labor to get everything defragged, imaged, and get regular backups going.

Quote:I have contacted support on this issue and they've been no help whatsoever. They have basically recited what is in the wiki regarding how to make Caleb appear. I have read the page in the wiki a number of times.
Here's what I'm doing:
I go to Nerva, go to Thorn Isle, wait until daytime and begin killing daemons. I kill them all "day" long. There's no telling how many I've killed (I don't count). The sun sets in Nerva, the zone event message pops up in my chat box that "The Demon Caleb has been spotted..." I've left some nerva daemons alive so that I can follow them to Caleb. But guess what, the daemons don't go anywhere. They just sit there, floating around. Regardless, when I have gotten that message after killing hundreds of nerva daemons, I have put on my jet pack and fly high above thorn isle. I search all over thorn isle (in the air of course as I know he spawns high above the island). I search all (in-game) night long all over thorn isle. Caleb does not really appear after I get the zone event message. I have tried it and gotten the zone event message on five separate occasions (with days or weeks in between because it's frustrating doing this only to find nothing) and I'm about to give up. I guess I'm just not meant to get that badge because there is something wrong.
I wish I was making this up, but it's frustrating when you see the zone event message, then hunt all over the place above thorn isle only to find nothing, and then the sun rise again without ever having seen a glimpse of Caleb.
Am I doing something wrong or is something wrong with the game?
Please Help! I want this badge so I can finally go back Heroside and work on the rest of the badges.
AFAIK, the ghosts don't go after Caleb.
Also, he appears up at the top of the zone and is relatively hard to see.
This is something that's best to have a team for. Not necessarily to kill Caleb. But to actually find him. -

There are things you can do to reset Win7 and make it look more XP-like.

Quote:So I ended up purchasing a new computer - 6GB of RAM, 1TB of storage - yet I have an issue where my Windows 7 won't recognize the enclosure that contains my old harddrive.
My old system was Windows XP (love it) and this new system is running on Windows 7 (disgusting)
Would it nuke this new motherboard to swap out the new harddrive with my old one?
Your problem will be that the copy of XP on the hard drive won't start up the current system most likely.
Moreover, you probably won't be able to find XP drivers to re-enable all the hardware even if it did.

and run away...
