Kheldians already have this kind of shapeshifting power, so it is possible in the game engine - but each form needs its own set of attack/hit/movement/etc animations, and since I assume you're after more than just one or two alternate forms like the Kheldians, that would be an ENORMOUS project.
On the other hand, a Beast Mastermind would have to involve at least nine new models with their own animations (three tiers of pets each with two layers of upgrades, as well as possible species variance within tiers) so it could make some amount of sense that if you make one, the other would be less of an issue due to the possibility of using most of the same models and animations. Even then, the shapeshifting would probably involve more animating, since un-upgraded mastermind pets only have one attack and a player in shifted form would need to have more than that.
And it would probably require a lot of them not just the basic 6 bur more if you want to make animals part of the basic MM attacks. Falcon strike. Snake venom spit. exe.
More if you wanted to choose what animal's you commended. lvl 2 Lions with more attack. Tigers with better stealth.
More still if you included the option for mythical animals.
Even more if you added alternate versions of them. Custom colors. Zombie. Cyborg. Alian. Skeleton. Robot.
That's why I mentioned the Booster pack power. A single basic attack animal summon. Something to use as a trial or basis for future attempts. -
I find it interesting that so many people know that turm. You'd think that only he people who are interested in that sort of thing would know it.

Not necessarily. We could insta shift in the same way we insta summon weapons.

Replying to a post in another thread I thought of a few interesting ideas.
A power that let you transform into a animal complete with veracious attacks now that would be possible. (Via booster pack)
Animal trainer MM. (Summon various animals to attack your opponents.)
Beast power AT might work. (Transform into one or more animals each with their own slot-able attack. Like the various Kheldian forms. Making temp powers and most toggle and clicky powers unavailable of coarse) -

However, some of your animation numbers can be greatly reduced. For instance, a cat model would not have access to things like swords or axes nor to the Widow or Arachnos Soldier ATs. We're talking about a cat, *not* a catgirl.
I'm certain that, were the Devs to implement such a model, they would probably limit access to certain ATs. At the very least, certain powers would not have animations. An animal model *could* be used for a character with Dual Blades, for instance, but it would appear that the character is using their Dual Claws instead.
There's no doubt that it *would* take a good bit of animation and character model development time, but I believe it would be a very nice addition to the game. After all, aren't CoH/CoV known for a high degree of customization?
It'd be nice to have things like skins for cats, dogs, monkeys, etc. I believe that some current art assets could be used or modified.

I've got a willpower elect and manged to get it up to 50 but I am wondering if I respect it what powers I should get and what IO's.

Suppose someone sent an email to... I'm going to go with one of my characters: Mortimer Blake. Mortimer Blake is a Cheerful Detective with Shadow Powers who fights and binds Demons. He's one of my perkier characters as well.
So let's assume the following variations of him exist:
A Dark Miasma/Dual Pistols Defender.
A Dual Pistols/Dark Miasma Corruptor.
A Demon Summoning/Dark Miasma Mastermind.
A Dark Melee/Dark Armor Scrapper
A Dark Miasma/Dark Blast Defender.
Only 3 of those actually exist. One will be deleted with GR. But this is a good example.
Now, suppose my friend Sal (Who exists as a Claws/Reflex Stalker, and Claws/Regen Scrapper) set an email addressed to Mortimer Blake.
Which Mortimer would get it? The one which was online at the time? Would it be diverted to my global? What about if he sent me a tell?
Then what if I were to respond? If I sent something to Sal, which Sal would it go to?
It's possible with Globals, but the infrastructure needs to be tweaked. -
Never happen you obviously don't realize how complex something like that would be.

I'd like one that replaced the SS animation. That's Super Swim not speed. With SS you should be able to fun on water with that big splasy wake. I'm tiered of doggy paddleing to my destination.

Great and I'm sure that would be wonderful for the dozen or so who have them but rather annoying to just plain insulting for those of us who ether don't have or even whant one. Especially to those that cant afford one. : (

One of the primary concerns as of late has been the apparent trend toward long flashy animations in new powersets. Dual Pistols is the primary example when this issue comes up. Many worry that these long animation times will come with insufficient damage numbers to compensate. Thus leaving Kinetic Melee with sub par overall DPS. There's not much argument to make on the matter. Only a Dev can shed any light on the actual numbers and its unlikely that'll happen. We'll probably end up having to wait for open beta.
It's more complex but since you move quicker it equals to the same amount of time. -
What might draw more people in would be a standalone hero designer. A free program that could be downloaded and run independently from the net. Give people a chance to get interested in one of the under advertised aspects of the game. Our extensive costume options. Those that use the system would further advertise the game by showing of there heroes. Though it would need to include a way to take a screen shot of there heroes.

Have you tried physically cleaning out your computer. Taking one of those cans of air and getting the dust out of your pc's box worked wonders for me. Just remember to get around your cpu and power supply and make sure to use the straw.

Ranged powers might be nice. Maybe replacing taunt with snipe as the normal taunt power with the current inherent is kind of obsolete.
