Or you can use the PVP recipies and get your knockback protection in slots you've already placed. The PBAoE set gives 3 pts of knock protection for 3 pieces of the Set. There's at least one other PVP set that gives knock protection.

Freedom has the largest raw population (it also has me if you're playing Villain Side ). But just about any server will offer you supportive people to answer your questions. The game is just as congenial as when you left it; that much hasn't changed.

You can also converse in the server's HELP channel by typing: /hc <message>

What the previous posters have said about AE teams I'll concur with. If you're doing AE, you're missing much of the game and a lot of important lessons.

But, I've got a question for you: are you on a Trial Account? That of course limits your communication possibilities and will change the advice we should give.


Also, is there anything else you've been wondering at and would like to ask about? (Just so's you know, "newb" is not an indictable offense in this game. We're funny that way .)

Actually you just need proximity, not even line of sight. In the Virgil Tarikoss Strike Force (Cap au Diable), which uses the same map, I've used fly to get at Glowies that were almost surrounded by mobs. There's one where the Glowie is at the edge of a cliff reaching back over lava at the end of one of the tunnels. I just go to the end of the tunnel in Stealth, float under the edge of the cliff, and click the glowie while they can't see me.

No. The KB Protection IOs are Globals. They will turn off if you exemplar more than three levels under the level of the IO.

Some of the new PVP Set IOs also have Knockback protection as a Set Bonus. Off the top of my head I can't remember which Sets, but it's more than one.

However, the PVP Set IOs function much like the Purple Sets in that they continue to function and give their Set Bonuses even if you are more than 3 levels below what's stamped on the IOs themselves. So you could slot lv50s, exemplar down to lv10, and still have your set bonuses from them. Ogon_Dark and I have taken to calling them 'Mauve' Sets (as in "almost Purple").

Some of the "lower demand" Set-pieces have gotten fairly cheap recently too. You might find an ideal bargain if you look into it.

You aren't so much one of the Arbiter Corp as sharing the privileges thereof. You are granted that level of status/respect due to showing you are an effective go-to person for anti-States-a-like tasks. I, speaking personally, like that bit of the story quite a bit.

Villain-side there is also the Energy Aura armor set for Stalkers and Brutes.

Okay, I've heard of people losing their HP bar before (on both sides); perhaps this is a more severe version of that. If so, hit the " \ " key and that should open the main menu. From there go into Options and Windows and "Reset Windows".

You might also try pressing " c " and see if your chat box reappears.


As to redside itself, there are some minor differences like AoE-type attacks being slightly more common. On the whole though, I'd say it's easier to get into: travel times are much shorter, you don't get sent to a contact in another zone who sends you to a mission door in the zone you started in all the time, and story-arcs begin with the very first contact.

You can also hold Page Up and push the direction keys.

So I spent a good two or three hours on city of heroes as me healer/empathy defender Medic Card (Freedom), playing with a team doing the Montague Castanella story arch, lost and found. The group gets to the last mission...and we are finally about to get our badge and guess what the game crashes on me.
Needless to say I'm pissed. By the time I get back on the group has gotten their badges and are going their separate ways.
I know it one of those moments were life just sucks and there nothing you can do about it...but I'm still upset. I've sent in a patients but I doubt that going to change things.
It just I've recently just restarted on this game after a year long brake....so to have this happen right off the bat gives me a bad taste in the mouth. What I want to know, has this ever happened to people before and is their anything I can do about it?

Well, I can say it's not a general issue with the game right now. If it repeats for you, I'd recommend going to the Technical Issues and Bugs section of the Forum and ask for assistance there (read the "++ Common Solutions & Posting Guidelines ++" post and follow what it tells you to do before making your initial post). They're a great group of people and they'll get you running smoothly again.

More than 90% of the costume pieces are already unlocked at character creation.

Also, Mercy Island is only from lv1-5, which takes a couple of hours. Then it's off to Port Oaks and Mayhem.

Not that I know of, but you can click the big blue EXIT button after completing the objectives.

Also, you can actually just type "/e" before the emote, the "m" is optional.

Offensive Auras are important parts of aggro management. Your Blazing Aura has a Taunt component to it. Combined with Gauntlet from a Tank's Inherent and Punch-voke from attacks, it helps keep all attention on you and not on high-damage squishies.

It's important to note that a Set IO only counts toward the set bonus if your current combat level is within -3 of the level stamped on the IO itself. So if you slot all level 50 Set IOs, the set bonuses will cease to be active below lv47 any time you Exemplar/Malefactor. If you plan a Set IO build, figure out a balance point between actual Enhancement %-age and the range you want the Set Bonuses active. Note that you run into ED effects long before you get to 50 with most upper-range Sets.

Teleport Foe. As opposed to Recall Friend, which is for moving teammates around.

Note that anyone who uses and Orange Inspiration in PVP is protected from teleport; so is someone with the right set bonuses from the new PVP Enhancmenets. Also note that Teleport Foe-ing someone will make them unattackable for a brief moment after they appear.

To help you get your head around Inventions, download and install Mids Hero Designer. It's the currently-supported, fan-made powerbuild utility. You can see what Invention Enhancements will total up for your character as and even search for specific Set Bonuses. Highly recommended.
