  1. I bought mine the day it came out. I couldn't wait. I paid full price, got all the bells and whistles. I've enjoyed DG Bases and villainous activity ever since!

If I had waited for the GvE version, I would have saved some money... but I didn't want to wait.

You still get all the bonuses that came with GvE, as well as getting it much cheaper than I did...

Hopefully, there will be some kind of added thank you to everyone who paid for the full versions of the game... but if not, it was worth it to me to have it now, instead of waiting for what was maybe never coming.

But what about the Devs? I see we'll still be keeping Positron on board as the head of this new division, but what about the others?

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Everybody but Statesman stays!
  2. We keep everybody but States, lose competing interests in MUO, and get more money and focus on the CoX?

    Wheeeeeeee!!!!!!

I have a new suggestion. Lets keep all lemmings from being able to post, so they can't keep good ideas down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

let's just encourage 'em to use this forum the way it was intended-- for suggestions and ideas. Whether or not they can admit to it, those folks got schooled in what it means to 'presume the will of the Devs'. Be nice, and maybe we can get them a little nicer in return next time.

One thing's for sure-- "The Dev's said" is officially retired!
  4. I want to point out something... some people said Weapon Customization would 'never happen' and attempted to discourage the conversation from happening. (And being that the 'Back' menu doesn't appear in the image of WC, there's a slight chance this could still be a silly hoax.)

    Nyanny nyah nyah, nyanny nyah-nyah-nyah.

Now that that's out of my system... going forward... could we try to be a little more tolerant of ideas coming out of the woodwork? We don't yet know how we got to this point, what eureka-flash made what Cryptic said wouldn't happen suddenly happen, but you never know-- could have been something they read here that, even wrong, sparked the right answer.

And anyway you slice it-- this is where people should throw those ideas out, even the ludicrous and already rejected ones.

    Food for thought.
  5. Where did Electronite go, under Hero Login Screens? I can't vote for it!
  6. While NCSoft and Cryptic would rather have players come back and stay, I think this step is only a half-step of what is needed.

All toons, under 50 (1-49), should be under this same rule. The current method protects players who have left the game, no longer pay fees, after scooping up the best character names for themselves.

To my perspective, those who build multiple alts as paying CoH/CoV clients, deserve greater consideration.

And toons that have not had their fees paid for in an entire year, regardless of level, should have names reset. This would free up names that players simply have no real interest in pursuing but continue to stake a claim to... and in cases where players have taken the time to get their toons to 50 but no longer pay monthly fees, it would guarantee that once a year, they pay for a month's service.

And if that's too much for players, the turnover of names will make it easier for those of us still active to bring new friends in!
  7. This wasn't his, he just joined it (and even gave me a warning about what I was in for after I identified myself). They really weren't too terrible, just undisciplined about following the tanker.
  8. I teamed with Blumyst on a DarkDark Defender last night. It only took one near-team wipe to figure out we were the veterans of the group. We had a blaster who was unfortunately very accustomed to aggro dragging.

No one was silly enough to call for Heelz, though-- just disorganized in not letting the Tanker pick the target.
  9. Mr. Jim, this past Sunday! Nice guy, very funny and easygoing.
  10. Been teaming, really happily, with Fluorescence a lot lately. We did Positron yesterday, which I'm sure my SG loves, as it was worth a big pile of Prestige...

Just stop raiding Hamidon. Plain and simple. If your Level 50 has nothing better to do with his time, then move to another character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Victory stopped after trying to handle the griefing ourselves (due to a complete lack of GM support) and failing. Perhaps you're right, and we should cancel the weekend raid we're planning and not even try...

I don't understand why we have changes to make it harder when we can't even complete it for our own players sabotaging it., and ZERO support.

I think I'll be talking about that for as long as there's a problem, regardless of whether anyone sees the need.
  12. I'd like to make a brief point...

Victory server has had a long history of difficulty with griefing players who ruin raids. We have asked for help many, many times, and only received HelpBot answers.

I have gone as far as breaking forum rules to put up posts where GM's, Devs, and anyone who could possibly help could see, as well as making personal pleas to Statesman and Cricket. Cricket said it might be being looked into, but if it was, wouldn't say. Statesman never replied.

This latest round of changes makes it now harder to do a Raid we were organized enough to do, yet frustrated by exploits from immature players who felt like ruining everyone's hard work for personal amusement. And the problems with griefing on our server were never solved or assisted with.

It's hard for me to understand why we aren't getting any help, and the process is in fact becoming harder. The changes made to Giant Monsters make it impossible to ignore any monsters dragged into the middle of the raid by a griefer (which is how the last attempted raid on Victory was ruined). It's as if the griefers are being helped.

I used to love raids. It's a pretty cool thing when you can get 50+ people to take an active roll and work towards the common good. The reward is still a great one. But we continue to have these problems and we get no response that indicates anyone in charge is even listening to our problems. The fact that our pointing out players claiming servers were intentionally crashed got "update drivers" responses indicates someone's letting a Bot answer these things without reading for content.

How do you justify altering Hamidon raids without addressing griefing?

Because I want to offer some kind of suggestion towards solving the problem instead of just lodging yet another complaint... some new special Mitos be created that only attack Giant Monsters who enter the jello?

    Please, respond.
  13. Thanks, that's just what I was looking for!
  14. Has anyone posted a complete and updated guide to slash commands?

I am specifically looking for how to change the MOTD in a global channel, and hoping to find a page I can bookmark if I need other commands... thanks!
  15. Name: Hand of Atlas

    Founder: Hank Rearden, Ms. Hospitality

Player Type: Hamidon raiders, people looking for +50 entertainment

RolePlay?: I think Hank'll make fun of you, but I'll look the other way...

Membership levels: This is a great place to put that Hami alt your SG is ignoring

SuperGroup Colours: We have only one server-- Victory-- and we're Black and Red, with the Hand emblem

Normal time of Gameplay: Evenings during the week, and weekends most of the day

Other information: We're trying to build something fun and lasting with a group of people we enjoy. We've already had some very cool folks bring alts over. Our goal is to make your alt your main. <g>

Recruiting?: Mostly at Hamidon raids. We aren't trying to fill ourselves with warm bodies or Prestige gophers, just people with a shared love of cooperative play.

The invisible skirt line of recluse is very annoying.

[/ QUOTE ]I'd like to second that.

We know where the entrances/exits are. Just show them permanently closed... sealed up by combat and rubble. Give us more room to run in with the extra space.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
However, if there are folks that are spamming AoE snares, Holds, Confusion, and all the other nasty stuff to keep me from running out, I fully intend on thinning out the ranks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think either thing-- base camping or TP foeing-- is bad sportsmanship. When I finally encountered the entrance to the Villain bae, I turned tail. I don't want to be someone who exploits. TP Foe and hit me all you like, but DON'T just throw me into a drone.

Anyways... that's one opinion. I don't think either act is justified and it disappoints me that players think that's winning.
  18. I encountered both Jumproot and CottonCandy on test server this past weelend. They both were hellacious, nearly soloing my Emp/Rad, and did much better when teamed with others...

...and I got each of those guys a couple of times myself, once their health bars were already run down to 50% or lower, or if they were brave enough to try to Stalk me (I have two of the best Mez attacks in the game at close range and a Nova only SR's can escape).

The chance I now seem to have in PvP will likely erode once these guys get their characters to level 50 and have more slots, better powers, and time to consider how to topple me by the numbers.

I have no doubt Villains are gonna own that zone in a few months; it surprises me that this hasn't occured to everyone. I am comfortable with it-- requires me to rely on teammates more, which is what my AT is about, anyways!
  19. [ QUOTE ]
btw you got it backwards, the heros are usually the ones tping villains into drones

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, not on my server (Victory), in Siren's Call they villains do that a lot...

It's no big deal, but I think it's unsportsmanlike. Feeble and weak. And I mean that for anyone: Hero, villain, what have you.

I hope they figure out a way to make it a 'chain reaction' where any Hero who does this winds up going to the hospital.
  20. The great thing about this is NOT that heroes, long frustrated by villains TP Foeing them and base-camping, will get revenge. It's that when the Villains get their own 40's to 50, they will be able to go toe-to-toe with heroes, many of whom have HO's.

It's gonna be a fun zone...
  21. Are there any Global channels used server-wide by Champion folks, the way the people at Victory do with "Victory Forum"?
  22. Maybe someone will see a way to add the math in (cheaply) later....
  23. Do you happen to know a good resource for getting stats on how to costume your hero like a Phantom Army Decoy?
  24. What is the relationship between the mechanics and the story? Do you craft a story and then the mechanics are built around it? Or does someone say, "We spent all this time on Fir Bolgs... we need to come up with a reason to feature them in their own area next issue." It's kind of a Bernie Taupin/Elton John question, I know, but I'm curious how much begins at a story kernel you've been toying with for some time, and how much begins as a doodle on a designer's desk that you grow into a marvelous plot....
