I couldn't bear the thought of joining a comic based game without bringing it along.
As I stated...I am REAL new to the game, so some of the terms you all are using don't mean much now (I WILL Learn......I had to go out and find out what some one meant when they told me I had a "cool toon" LOL)
I have tried playing a scrapper and a tanker....the less said about those attempts...the better. (now if I can just stop trying to play my blaster like a tanker LOL)

Welcome to the game. You may wanna give dominators and corrs a shot for ranged usage. Scrappers are also fun...go make a scrapper...doooo eeeet! If you ever need any help for in game stuff/builds/advice/etc. give me a ring at @Disciple of Horus

Nah, level shifts are part of the game now.
Myself, I say try it without the Cold/Thermal stacking and see what happens. Those things break the game more than any level shift ever could.

As a silly scrapper player but someone who has a good handle on the game I would not ever count FF as one of my favorite power sets but it does some things that not many other sets do that can help a load. Gives a huge chunk of def, gives endurance protection via insulation shield and some toxic res from deflection shield and easy-peasy mez protection via dispersion. While I wouldn't consider it a power house set it's reliable in what it does.
