  1. *does the "that's so badass" dance*

Unlock Tier 1, 2 and 3 travel powers at level 6?

Flight without Hover? Superspeed without Hasten? Teleport without Recall Friend?

    Baaaaaaaad. Can you dig it?

If you could save the Stan and Lou thread I'd be much obliged.

    Issue 13: BUGS

    BUG: CANNOT ENTER BASE

    Server: Triumph
    Side: Villains
    Supergroup: M.I.T.T.ENS. (SMERSH was taken.)
Description: So far, all of the SG members are prohibited from entering the base. It says "base upkeep not paid." When I go to pay the upkeep, it says I don't owe any.

Do you care about people who play the market as part of their fun in the game?

    I hope not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, people assume I would be mad if the devs said they did not intend the market to be played as a game. I would not. That's actually why I asked the question.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm no fan of items costing in the 9-11 digit ranges, myself. Probably like Synapse, I hope that the prices we're seeing in the game do not represent the status quo which the developers are hoping to preserve: the common items which players wish to obtain are freakishly rare and expensive (such as melee IOs) and the bizarro items which only a handful of players can even use are as common as dirt (fear, confuse, etc).

But I must say, Geko, that your "do you care about people" question is remarkably vague. I presume it wasn't answered because there's no one way to answer it. The developers can care about those players, but not to the exclusion of players who struggle to put together enough money to afford basic IOs. That kind of question is akin to a question like, "Mom, do you love me or do you love my brother?" question: loaded and difficult.

I would say a better way to ask that question is, "Some players enjoy the reward system as-is, because they are among the few willing to run endless Task Forces for a chance to get multi-million-influence rewards. This is what they find fun. Is your system designed to preserve this play choice for them, and if not, what can those players do instead?"

Based on the history of the game — notably, the 20-million-influence price of wings when they first came out — I would say that the developers are keen to shoot down these high prices. Unfortunately, I don't see how that's going to be possible. There's just too much money sloshing around in the game and those multi-billionaires are going to have to bid on something with their cash.
  5. Sorry for the long wait... I will try to make some time to do #30, but it's going to be ... complex.
  6. I stopped in and said hello to Ex Libris, and happened to run into Nuclear Toast there. We need to get together to do a PNW-area COH bash someday.

Now I'm off to Alaska for a week! Fish beware!

    Voice recording

Depending on what you mean by "buzz" it could be one of several things.

    1. A steady low hum. Probably interference from other electronic gear. Possible to remove with a noise-reduction filter; see what a free program like Audacity can do along those lines.

    2. Periodic crackling when you speak too loudly. Probably the microphone input is too high, or the "Mic Boost" is turned on.

    3. Low droning noise that goes up and down in pitch. Probably being attacked by giant bees stinging holes in your eyes and laying eggs in your mouth, aieeeee, etc.

It’s actually you who doesn't know what he’s talking about hedgehog. As a matter of fact, the last time the devs ran their script to release names from inactive accounts, I was able to secure about 50% of the names I had been wanting.

    [/ QUOTE ]
As they say in the stock market, past success is not an indicator of future performance.

Even if I accept your 50% number as true, hedgehog is correct. Nobody has no way to know if any one name he wants is presently owned by an active account or not. I would much prefer a system that was more informative: instead of saying "this name is taken!" it should say "this name has been taken by an active subscriber."

Or it could say "This name has been taken by an inactive subscriber. If this subscriber does not return in [47] days, the name will be released. Would you like to reserve it?"

Or it could say, "This name has been taken by an inactive subscriber. If this subscriber does not return in [47] days, the name will be released. It has already been reserved by a paying subscriber."

Running the name-wipe script on a constant basis is a poor solution and it doesn't stop anyone from complaining that All The Good Names Are Taken By Lazy Non-Customers Etc.
  9. Actually, I am going on vacation beginning Saturday (only for a week). Going fishing in Alaska!
  10. Yep, it's me. Where the hell you been, Mac?
  11. If I show up at PAX at about 3:00pm on Friday will any of the COH people be there?
  12. Assignments? I'm just hoping I can do Stan and Lou cutscenes.
  13. I think the architect is Mr. Wiggin from Ironside and Malone.
  14. This looks like a fun project. Too bad I'm not a videographer.
  15. I have emailed the MP3 format to Jester. He's on the east coast, so he's probably already on his way home.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Aww come on Youtube? Cant watch at work.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'll email it to DJ Jester on my lunch break. No promises when he'll be able to add it to the w00tstudios webpage.
  17. I'm glad you enjoyed this one — it's hard to tell at 2:30 in the morning if something is genuinely funny, or if I'm just tired.
  18. I now have all the pieces for #28. I'm just sayin'.

    Also, nicely done, Ashcraft.
  19. I discovered when I was putting together #28 that I am MISSING a line. I thought we recorded it — several times, actually, because there was a problem with it — but I can't find it. I need my volunteer back to re-record that one line.

I'm not blaming her. But this is why I like to do it all myself: I'm always available.
  20. Actually, the video wasn't mine — the guy who put that demorecord together did that on his own. It turned out great! I'm not sure if he's doing more, but if anybody's inclined, they're welcome to record some video for 'em.
  21. Good news: I have the other set of lines recorded. Now I just have to put them together and see if it works. I might have a few more pick-up recordings to do, to add (or correct) a line reading, but we'll see.

    #28 is coming together...
  22. I don't think I'm going to get my guest voice for this one, so I'm going to talk to somebody else tonight about standing in. Hopefully tonight I can get it all recorded, so you'll probably see #28 soon.

However, the guest voice would still be available for some future project. I'll keep this person in mind for later.

    Meanwhile, what's everybody's favorite episode?
