Frosch smiled, "We can do that, have any preference on the color of the light?" He asked as he fished around for what was suppose to be a lamp only used durring a power outage. He placed it down on the counter. It resembled a small sphere. "As for money, we ussually take things commonly considered prescious. Rare metals, elements, etc. What do you have?" He asked as the metal creature came up and placed a daimond on the table. He looked at it and removed his glove. He felt it with his porous skin taking in more information than most with the highly speciallized sense organ that was his skin. It was definately real. "This'll get you quite a few nice drinks, and a room I'd imagine."
-
((Wow! This kinda took off when I wasn't looking. Glad there's some interest out there. I was starting to worry. Sorry I haven't respond until know.))
Frosch finished mixing up the drink for Kreigg. He judged the Insectiod man and went for somethign sweet. He was use to insects liking sweeter things. He used a base of some weird fruit beer from a planet he'd never heard of and mized it with a few additions and then as a nod to the mans insistance on warmth he added a flame to it. "Pur-tos" He said in a deep throty voice, his vocal cords were surronded by pourous fleash and made it sound like he had a perment cold. THe word Pur-tos meant enjoy in his native tongue. He watched the others enter a bit shocked to be so popular on the first night.
Whent he weird dragon pointed at the liqour he stared for a bit. It was expensive stuff, the bottle, like everyone there, hadn't been opened. He shrugged, "Alright sir, not to be rude, but I hope you can pay." He said as he opened the bottle and fought with it for a bit. "Who's idea was it to store things like this." He was refering to the metal top meant mostly for style. All it did it just made the bartenders life harder.
Teide smiled as more and more business showed up. Maybe her venture would work outr after all. When Kei'Thera asked for a room she was over joyed. "Of course, I'd be more than happy to book you a room. You may stay as long as you want." She left out the bit about as long as you can pay because she assumed it was emplied. She was running a business after all. Of course Kreigg decided to interrupt them.
[ QUOTE ]
"Heh," Kreigg barked at the blonde, "You could talk t'me, toots."
Kei blinked once before turning to look at Kreigg with a steady gaze, though the impact was likely lessend against a creature that didn't blink in the first place.
"That would be possible, but I would assume the tavernmaster would not appriciate cleaning your remains off the floor the next morning."
[/ QUOTE ]
Teide smiled polietly, "Well, I wouldn't mind too much, but Gyges, Cottus, and Byerus would probably be very angry." She said smiling. "They have to clean this place and they have their hands full as is." She smiled, "Now ma'am, shall we discuss your accomadations." She paused and turned to the blob that was Cafea. "Oh I'm terribly sorry for ignoing you. Do accept my appologies. So much business, but that's no excuse. I'll see what I can do, but we don't have much in the way of real windows. Most of this space is well, not actually inside the building you see. But we may be able to arange something. Talk to me when ever you have a moment free."
About that moment the space distorted and Teide freaked for a moment as she looked to where the source was and saw BOX-2247-U. She was a but shocked, not that she reconized the creature, but because he shouldn't have been able to do that. Not with the specially calbrated devices to give them extra room should have pushed said distortion to the end of the bubble to keep it from collapsing the bubble by tearing it. She stopped herself from yelling, such an act would undoubtably lose her business. Especially if her patrons had silly fears about the potental of the bubble collapsing, that almost never happened anymore.

"Query: this unit has come to seek contact with identified being 'Mister Zero'. Have unidentified beings experienced any contact with him at or before this point in time?"
[/ QUOTE ]
"You're free to stay as long want to wait for this Mister Zero." Teide said, "You can book a room if needed. But if you don't please leave at closing time. THank you." She said as she turned back to Kei'Thera, "Now, hmm, you never meantioned your name." She noticed her tense when she looked at the machine. Interesting...
Meanwhile Frosch frowned at the Dragon Man, "Earth isn't that bad really. I mean, they have some problems but..." He stopped himself, "Sorry sir. Don't mind me." He said finally making some progress with the bottle opening. He noticed the frog man and looked at him intently trying to place his speices when the Dragon spoke back up, "Sorry." He fought with the bottle for a moment and finally he made a hole in the seemless metal bottle stopper. "Here you go sir." He said pouring it.
He noticed the insectiod giving Cafea a lighter and frowned. "Sorry for not getting to you faster sir. If you still wish for light I think we can accomdate you." The Orange anphibian said. -
Tiede smiled as she looke over her first guest. "Welcome to the Brown Dwarf." She said as she showed Cafea in. She tried to place Cafea's species, but most of the time she didn't know it. She was use to it, the universe was teaming with life, you can't expect to know all of it, let alone most of it. "Will you be staying the night?" She asked

((Can I use an alien that I don't actually have in CoX? Mainly because it would be completely impossible?))

OOC: Well, he a draconian, much like Balsk from Cosmic Chess. I think he won't be appropiate because he's very human-like in his mannerisms. Although now that I think about it, it seems kind of hard to not have an alien that's at least somewhat.....
Bah! I'l post him here later.

They're the Freedom Phalanx, but a pivotal moment in their life went the other way, making them evil rather than good.
I can't remember any good examples atm however...
[/ QUOTE ]
Manticore/Chimera went with Protean when he killed his parents and was trained to be an assassain.
Miss Liberty/Dominatrix hated her mother for some reason and wasn't content living in her shadow and killed her.
Citdel/Siege was just built for a different reason.
Luminary/Dark Star was built by Anti-Matter to show Dominatrix he loved her.
Synapse/Neuron experimented on himself for some reason. (I still don't really get this one.))
Positron/Anti Matter was essientially just Dr. Null... hmm, so that might mean Null's a good guy in their world, provided he isn't just dead yet.
And there's plenty more. -

Errr.....Never mind then.

((Oh? So basicly this guy was a human that was completely different from humans but derived of human stock? Well, if he doesn't tell anyone he could get away with it. But I was really designing this just for spacial alien species.)) -

Artic Sun - I'd really like to know if we can ONLY use known Praetorians or if we can create our own (eg Copper Shield as the Praetorian Blue Steel).
[/ QUOTE ]
hmmm, i'd think praetorian blue steel would be Red Iron....
[/ QUOTE ]
It could be, if you were just going for opposites or related subjects. (Okay, iron isn't an opposite to steel, I know...)
However, a copper shield was the original representation of being a lawman and the reason we call police 'cops' today. Having Blue Steel's opposite as Copper Shield calls back to this law theme while suggesting that perhaps this Praetorian takes the law way too seriously.
Alternatively, he hides behind / uses his copper shield while doing the most brutal and corrupt things. It's a nice (imo, and if I do say so myself) image that shows Blue Steel through a dark mirror.
[/ QUOTE ]
Meanwhile "Red Iron" would invoke thoughts of not only being the opposite of Blue, but also being communist
[/ QUOTE ]
Acctually, just being the name Red Iron makes me think of super heated iron about to be forged. Or rust. Nothing lawman like.

((This is a crazy experiment I came up with. Basicly, we all know that there's a large alien population in CoH and CoV. And not counting the Kheldian. So I thought it might be interesting to see everyone's concepts for alien races. And so the Inn was born, it's located on Striga Island so both Heroes and Villains can get at it easily. Villains are welcome, as long as they don't cause trouble, same goes for those over zealous heroes.. The Inn isn't about spontanous fights, it's really just a social experiment. Basicly, if there's going to be a fight, take it out side. And I don't care if Lord Recluse himself appears outside of the Inn, no one like that can enter it, destroy it, or teleport it into another dimension. Thank you.))
The Alien Only Inn, it stood only three stories tall and was a squat brick building with a light hanging over the doorway giving it a more omnious feel. The light proudly lite up a sign that read, "The Brown Dwarf" Below which it read, "Your home away from the Home World." Three other signs were posted on the walls. "All humans must have an Xeno Chaperon." "No Ritki, Nictus, Shivians, S.P.A.N.C., Space Cats, Space Dogs, Space Weasals or any other creature with the word Space in it's name." "Weekday 6pm - 2am Weekends 5pm - 4 am" Each sign was repeated in two different language obviously not of Terran origin.
Once past the door the Inn changed considerably. The interior was considerably large than it was outside. It seemed to try to imiate a english pub with certain technological improvements. Most of which centered around entertainment. For instance there was a pool table, but near by it was a table designed to play a card game that was only playable with three or more hands. But most of it was easy enough to use.
The bar itself was a bit odd. There was only one tap with an alien language engraved on it. For those that could read it it said, "Molecular Tap." A device that could in theory produce any liquid, many gases, and few solids. Behind it though was the costumary collection of bottles that seemed to be imported from everywhere. There was also a large brass statue of a mouthless god with long lanky arms gripping a spear and a helmet and clawed feet gripping the foundation in a suit of armor. It had a horse like mane of wild hair that floated in the air. There were a few red rings around the spear that had been added by it's owners. It was Fliege, an intergalatic god for Space Travel.
The man behind the bar wore a suit and a scarf around it's mouth which didn't exist. His name was Frosch, he had orange skin which was very poresous. His race asborbed all their nuterients through their skin. He was surpisingly good at mixing drinks and as such had been made the bartender.
If you looked carefully you could see a window near the bar that lead to an amazing looking kitchen from the few breif looks inside. The head cheif was Bilari, he was a stocky creature who looked extremely stiff and when he moved her creeked. He was really a plant alien hybrid, a speicies all his own. He was a bit slow, but very skilled in his own ways. He would put a four star chef to shame. Of course, he had a lot of high tech equipment to help him.
Then there was the owner, the woman who had made this Inn possible. Teide, she was very similiar to human stock in most ways. Her deep brown skin made her a passable human being if she wore a wig. She had no real hair, instead she had tough out croppings of mineral crystals. Her race wasn't made of stone, but they grew mineral desposites all over their body as a form of waste. If you didn't mind that it actually looke very pretty, which was a thought commonly held in Teide's race.
The rest of the staff were an asortment of aliens all of whom needed jobs. Each one livign somewhere in the in. Teide had finished lighting the fire in the fire place. Everything was in order. It was time for the Alien Only Inn to open for Business. She hoped this venture payed off. -

I've never had a chance to RP Hermod himself or any of a dozen other characters. But I really don't have the time to get involve with a fast posting one. So if it's possible to have a slow going one, sign me up.
-
One quick question, does that mean I could have good Doctor Vahzilok? Because that's all the story I have in mind needs.
-
Cuppa, I wish I had seen this sooner. I'll miss you Cuppa. I always kinda figured you'd be there till the end of CoH/V/whatever the future holds. I can't imagine you going. I don't know another site admin who would help me get acess to the CoV version of the forums after my name was locked out and respond to my needs there specificly. That's one of my fondest memories of you Cuppa. Good bye.

Been RPing with you for a long time man, in fact, I think it's been about a year since we started WATBTDO. You've improved alot and you're a lot of fun to read. And uh... wait, where was the critism? Oh right, the whole liking Cyba in peril bit. Move on. Seriously though, that was a bit of a snagging point in the RP. I loved writing Proto Matter's evil, but Cyba really doesn't need to be such a glutton for punishment. Tone that aspect down just a bit and you'll be more than golden.

Hehe, Cyba will ALWAYS be a glutton for punishment! And I think its actualy been closer to two years, hasn't it? I don't know, I'll have to check the thread! That RP was the super funnest thing in the world, I'm telling you! It's just too bad we only had about five people in it! Grigori forever!
As for you, Hermod, well, I have a few things to say about you! First off, you don't post nearly enough! Second, you're a great writer and come up with the best characters. It's like you're some kind of awesome character making machine that generates killer backstories!

Well, I saw youa bout a few times before WATBTDO but that was first time we RPed together, and I could have sworn it happened at some point durring the summer last year.
And thanks for the complements.

Lets see here, I don't have much to say right now, maybe I'll think of more to add later.
Soviet
I like Prikker, but I have alot of trouble reading the Troll speak he uses. Any chance of getting a translation guide?
Essex
My only real complaint (and it's not much of one) is using the Megaman X terms for the characters. That just throws me a bit and makes me suddenly think of side scrolling games, sweet, sweet, sweet, side scrolling games... I need to go play some now...
