  1. Its a very good build for cheaps but, I thnk with Veng activated it should be some soft-capped defense at least ... right?

    Altho this build is way esxpensive, it is also very worth it.

  2. Yeah I am not sure either... so I did a test run on a few lvl 50 mobs last night and I was quite amazed on just how Burn burnt them. Not only does it tick much much faster but it also tripple hits each villain, ... I saw three sets of damage points (side-by-side) rise up above each villain's head. Now with BA, I stood there watching and counting ...and it hits every 2 seconds and sometimes it misses as well. Even though Burn is an AoE attackI will still use it against an AV (any dmage available counts), I think it will probablystack 2 hits if its possible. A loooong story short, Burn has my vote.
  3. It is indeed in my regular attack chain so ....

    AV's? I don't know because I haven't thought that far on how I would play this toon but only to farm so, Burn may be the best candidate to test this.

  4. So will Foot Stomp be better because of it range and maxed targets versus Burn? Well I've just checked and FS base-recharge recharges 5 secs faster, however, Burn last a bit longer and it ticks within it's 10 second duration. But does it matter how many targets the power effects becuase Burn has a maxed target of 5 and I think Foot Stomp maxes at 15 targets if not 10. So Burn or Foot Stomp?

    As I am writing this, it is more than likely that Burn will recieve this IO Proc because it cannot simply slot the +100% Recharge - 5% chance to proc like Foot Stomp can.

  7. I have a very interesting (noobish) question to ask. The Fury of the Gladiator 20% chance to cause -20% resistance (to all damage) proc, will this be better slotted into a click power like Burn or will it be more effecient to slot this baby IO into a toggle power like Blazing Aura?

    Please, I am very anxious to know this. What do you think is best?

    This is a very good idea but, I am wondering why not slot this Glad of the Fury 20% Chance to -Resist Proc into a toggled power like Blazing Aura? Will it proc off better in there in Blazing Aura or is it a one-tick activate proc?

    SS/FA build

    Okay Ultrawatt, I have respec the build again but haven't ried it out yet but will when I return home. I took your advice and listen carefully of what you said on your own ideas too so I made it a pure farming build. Since I do tag along freebies here and there, Veng will be NICE to have so I swapped out of the Fighting Pool which is more Def and too will help reduce Endu usage. My older build most recent above is .... well it does well but, I must pop purps alot which is annoying and too crafting them in middle of mobs when I can be doing straight hardcore killen.

    It has more damage due to Veng as well too.

  10. Okay you do have a very simple build. Eventually you will need those Invention bonuses. Some can tweak this AT type with cheap IO sets whereas it will prove efficient. But! No doubt you will be geeting nice drops/rolls with it.

    Heya Ultrwatt!! Sorry for the late response (due to working 13 hr shifts on Wend, Thur & Fri but have 4 day weekends always) and thank you for your feedback. Okay, I will retweak the build again (I forgot to put that xtra-recharge proc in Footstomp in this build). I am glad to know of the lvl 54 cap + tohit comparison between the two functions when farming. I will most def scoop up Veng because I do tend to tag along with me an unknown, random lowbie (with at least 9 month veterans rewards listed) with me for free so he/she will be a nice candidate to cast Veng upon to collect those additional def bonuses.

    On the Demon map, I melts right thru them. I haven't tried lvl 54's yet. Lvl 53's been great with no problem at all besides the slight Endu-drainage from uses that requires a click of blues here and there while Consume" recharges. I will repost the build when done. Also, I've heard others saying they can build a very efficient farming build without having the dreadful expensive IO's. I don't know if that is true or false but the xpensive stuff will grant better recharge IMO.

    This build thus far has been built for both farming and PVE content for accolades/badges/PVE-gameplay (Drops) and Shard hunting.

    Okay, I took your advice and selected Temp Proctection and slotted the Steadfast Res/+3Def Io in it as well.

    I will mention that, I would like to aim for a build that uses less inspirs, I dont use them much anyhow but if I have to, so be it. But, I noticed that others can farm lvl 54`s with no problem, my present build cannot. maybe because it has NO Temp Protection in begin with.

    Also, I need to know just how important it is to have Leadership for the Tactics and LoTG 7.5 recharge mule slotÉ Is tactics I ust have for lvl 54`s (Question Mark) My keyboard wont key it in for some reason.

    Thank you for the reply UltraWatt =D Well now I may be doing some TF's and such to get additional accolades and Incarnate Shards just to boost it's potential. But then again, I do have an Invun/SS Tanker too that i can easily soft-cap the def for so I would mostly be running pure fire farms with the Brute. I am to anxious to get this toon started the right way which has me at a stand-still of not knowing the need/should be done for the Brute.

    So I tried tweakin the build multiple times and this one is by far the greater of the 5 thus far.

    So, I think I got a plan. I wil lbe stripping my fire/kin for the purples and LoTG's Recharges, (I am getting burnt out with the fire/kin a bit) and will be putting them into the Brute. Also now that I think about it, recharge is the key-factor for fire-type damage farming planning to farm. Another quick question which again regards to Tough & Weave. To run lvl 54 fire-type damage dealing foes will I need the Fighting Pool still?

    SS/FA build

    I am curious to know. How efficient is the Fighting Power Pool powers are, Tough & Weave for the SS/FA Brute? I would be farming mostly (probably only fire_type damage mobs). I have a FA/BA Tanker but nevered played a Brute before. Just very curious to know just how much squishier a FA Brute is compared to a FA Tanker. I am about to do a respec build but do not know if Fighting Pool is necessary for additional content besides farming. Note just want to do some nice scrapper like team-play if possible besides being mistaken for a Tanker's roll because it is a FA Brute, (I would roll an Invun, or Stone Armor for the Tanking aggro holding roll - not knocking off other armor type Brutes because of not mentioning those).

Well, I was really happy when I got my Fire/kin to 50 finally but with some help of ole-sg-mates that showed me what farming was all about way back when the, "Family" mish was the hot thing everyone was farming. Well later on that Mish got NERFED by a long haul and got ripped form the great XP so, I deleted the toon. I think if I wasn't so angry, it would be here still but I DELETED it. Goon's Imps was it's corny @$$ name which too helped me say, eff it, it is GONE, I'm deleting it. However, a new mish was hot (Demons) I realised not far later after deleting it so, Helluva Goon., a new fire/kin was created FTW!!!

    No I do not recall that but I've notiecd over the years that when on a team that is at minimum amount o fplayers the chances are better. Also I've noticed that when the map is divided or split by two farmers, the chances greatly increases because of the greater kill rates combined on the map. But now with all these new-temp-@$$ recipes new to the game ... that brings the drop rate for tasty purps back down even more.
  18. Wow!!!! This posting is very entertaining but also very knowledgeable as well. See!!! I am a farmer that has been farming with good-ole-fashion-FOTM Fire/Kin with additonal three fire/trollers, (fire/rad and two fire/sonics) on seperate accounts. They assists the main Fire/Kin on follow and auto attack to my target/s for additional quick damage burst, extra recipe bags as they drop and mainly for the 2x Disruption Field stacked (thats -44 resistance to mob from my damage) onto the FIre/Kin from /sonic for Demon farm.

    The bad side? Well one has mentioned that trollers simply cannot handle an ambush (especially in AE). Very true. Also, I would like to roll new type of toon to roll farms with and it is proven by everyone's votes and numbers that SS/FA Brute is far better. I do NOT like to rely on a single power to recharge vs having multiple AoE attacks and hard hitting ST damage so the ELM is out the window. [pl'ed #1]"why is he stopping? [pl'ed #2 replies] I think his LR is almost up!! [pl'ed #1] "hmmmmm that sucks" [pl'ed #2] "That ss/fa brute that pl'ed me last night was streaming thru this same mish non-stop, it was SICK" [pl'ed #1] Do yo have his global? LOL I don't PL folks for influ nor do I ever hardly ever invite anyone to my farms. Thats just me. If any in any case I may scoop a lvl 1 -5 up if he/she has like 18 month or so in Vet reawards for free runs. So I'm just saying.

    I am very, very eager to have one and so anxious to try out as I know it will fair well especially for the ambushes which my fire/kin falls almsot instanly to.

    Farming takes time to understand. It all depends on one playstyle and how to perform within. Fire/kins has quick burst damage - lots of it and too very nice control to meltdown mobs in between holds & immobilization. That is the surviving technique for the troller which leaves little time to activate a located area for mitigations or such because I know when performing with a fire/kin, it's a busy non-stop job but so dammmm fun.

    Brutes on the otherhand has a better survivability quite naturally and could do as much damage if not better (IMO more damage than any troller can). On the plus side, I can get Deeeeeeeeeeemooooons with it too once over Blue-Side. SO AE and Rewards? Gravy!

  21. My 2 cents on the matter of the two trollers, I've never played a Plant/ troller before however, I've had many opputunities to split my "Demon" map with quite a few. The Outcome? Well, I've always, I do mean always reached the top-corner on my side of the map while the assisting Plant/Kin (with Fire APP since Demons we call them shoots fire damage) was just reaching their first half on their side of the map. When it comes to farming, speed is a factor.

    Also, I rarely used Flashfire or Cinders when running farms. If I do its because two or more mobs are way too close to each other. I'll stunn the mob closer to me with Flashfire and then Cages so they won't stray away dazed and hit the other mob thats-to-close-for-comfort with Cages and run in and hit Cinders ... LOL It's a meltdown in progress which is a better controller between the two IMO.

    I'm not knocking off Plant just sayin if your purpose is to farm then you should use what is best to get it done with. Some prefer ss/fa brutes, some prefer others but Fire/Kin still reigns the best IMO.

    Also, I've read somewhere on the forums that Bonfire does NOT KB foes after they've been hit with Fire Cages. Instead of Gravitional Anchors slotted within it, a set of Posi are in there for more damage which really makes a difference. Still slotted with 5 purp sets anyway so 6th set will not benefit the toon. Anyways the fire/kin still have not been respecced out of it's Fittness Power Pool which will add more powers like Bonfire to test out if it actually don't do KB whan the mob is caged up.

    Ill/Rad/Ice

    Actually I have Ice Storm on my build, (ill/rad) I hit the mob with Spectral Terror and then Lingering Radiation, to slow their efforts to flee and then hit them with Ice Storm, it takes away half their HP for lvl 50 minions and hits others hard as well. Most of the time, PA haven't been summoned nor Phantazm.

    Although it is a bit ... well ... really squishy but if played right (which isn't hard to do) they always fail to see me. Ice Armor was dropped for Ice Storm. My feel is that if the enemies are gone as soon as possible, my chances are better for a healthier HP bar. More damage FTW!!!

    Anyways, Controllers are the most powerful AT in the game that you can play, others may say the Dominator is the better. Most folks that play will argue of which AT is the most Powerful (because we favor certain AT/s personally), and there are those that LOVES to provide Empathy which too adds to arguement if any at all, (just sayien) but it all comes down to the nitty gritty of what you like to do and what mood you are in to play with what you may have available to play.

    it is the newest version. It may seem complicated but trust me, it is eeeaaassssyyyy to understand. The "Info Box" in the lowest left hand corner you must understand, it allows you to see all the relavent details per power such as activation time, endu use, recharge time, Accuracy, Casting time, Radius of a power (AoE or PBAoE or "NUKE" perhaps) it just takes time and patience and before you know it, you are probably making wonderful builds with it and, "you can copy & paste" that funny looking coded paragraph (just the block of codes and line ---> | <--- (coded letters) to ---> | <---- those lines (including the lines) to view someone's build they've posted.     To use it, you can adjust it to your liking with what is available. Prima example and too which you will do is, you'll see a tab up top that says, "Level-Up". Now that there you just click on it once and it waill display "Dynamic" which allow you to pick all of your powers FIRST and then add the slots per power, the amount of slots you want per power in other words. I normally slot mine backwards in other words, I add the slots to my last power to the first, therefor you can always double click a slot (like when slotting in game) to lift that slot and place it on a power selected before. To slot? Well just right click on a single slot and then what appears are "Types" of enhancements that single power will allow to slot. From there you can click on the "Red" Enahnancer for damage, it may be range damage type, PBAoE damage type, and ect. I will not give the whole detail on how to use mids but it is fun, FUN toplay with esspecially when the Maintenance Servers has the Servers Down.
  24. The reason I don't use W,A,S and D is becuase of their position on the Keypad. Lets say I must make a fast get away, I'll have to glnace at my keypad to adjust fingers on them then when I look up to see my toon, it's probably too late. In caves? Actually I was running with a pug team and we were in a cave. My troller ill/rad has Fly and manuevering thru the caves wasn't all that bad. Now with my left hand positioned always on attack buttons #1, 2, 3 and 4 and one over for #5 (longest recharging attack or Nuke), my left thumb is always on the "Space-bar" for elevation and it always finds X easily to lower the toon. Now right above the "Arrow-keys" my villain target select buttons are ... "Delete", "End" and friend select button is "PAge-Down". I find it very east to still navigate and select targets while in the midst of navigation and activate a few attacks and etc. I hardly want to depend on the mouser unless necessary to do so (clicking inspirs).

    I really just want to eliminate any cripples in functioning the toon, I find this style esy to adjust to. Also, for turning-around speed, you can adjust that from the, "Menu" on the HP-bar, then Options/Control. My turning speed is at 691%, it turns fast enough for me, any faster will have my toon running down the halls like on Resident Evil Game, LOL.running into the corners before I actually get there.

    Oh yeah you can lock the powers into the Power-Tray. That option is also in the Options from the Menu. It may be in Miscelaneous.
