Looks like I spoke too soon. It's logging me back out now in Firefox, after having stayed logged in for more than an hour this morning. Now it's acting just like it did the other day (i.e., can't stay logged in past the "Thank you for logging in" message).
EDIT: Disabled Cooliris (the extension I'd noticed that others with this problem have also) and it's currently keeping me logged in, at least long enough to attempt to edit this. I'll leave it disabled and see what happens throughout the day. -
Well, I'm not having any trouble so far this morning with staying logged in through Firefox. The first day the new boards were up, it wouldn't leave me logged in at all. It would thank me for logging in, but when that page went away and the boards loaded up again, I'd be logged out.
Today, everything's fine. I saw this thread and, perhaps stupidly, didn't see if I could stay logged in with Firefox before I started disabling some add-ons. I disabled most of my extensions and was able to stay logged in. I then reenabled each of them, one by one, to see if I could stay logged in. Even after re-enabling them all, I'm still able to stay logged in.
I have no idea if it's possible that doing that would help, or if my problem had somehow fixed itself, since I didn't try logging in through Firefox before I started doing stuff. (Normally I'd know better, but I hadn't had my first cup of coffee yet...)
Anyway, here's what I have, but like I said, everything appears to be okay for me now...

Quote:Yep, did that. It's not even keeping me logged in immediately after it tells me I'm logged in.I'm using FireFox and it's working just fine for me. Just make sure you click the button that says "Remember Me" when you log in.
I'm not saying it's logging me out if I shut down the tab or Firefox (which is what it would do if I didn't have the "Remember me" box checked). It's logging me out immediately after logging me in. But only in Firefox. -

Firefox won't keep me logged in, no matter which url I access. IE, on the other hand, works fine for me.

Quote:Yeah, with the old forums you could just pick whatever you wanted your login name and password to be. Sounds like you just made it the same as your game info.I seem to recall logging into the previous UBB system with my game login and password. (Lack of security warning isn't so good though.)
...it only took me three attempts to remember that. All hail the Remember Me option. :P

Edit: The other option is that I picked one of my standard passwords when I setup the old forum account. My memory fails. -

Quote:It's not a bug, according to Positron on Twitter. Forum login is now the same as your game login. In game with a few of my friends, for some unknown reason, we have to use our game logins to gain login access to the forums.
I'm assuming that this is a bug and will be fixed shortly.
Google Chrome hasn't logged me off yet for those complaining about getting kicked out or logged off. -
They don't say how long you'll be in the Closed Beta for it, though, just that you'll get in earlier (or maybe have a higher priority?) than those who will get in simply for preordering GR.
Plus, it's a perk for staying subscribed to this game for the first few months of Champions Online. I think they'll be overjoyed to have a ton of people in the GR Closed Beta. -
I can't seem to stay logged in with Firefox... IE keeps me logged in just fine.

It's regular Monday morning maintenance.
The server status page has been flipping back and forth between an up-to-date version and a version from June 24th for a couple of weeks now. It's the June 24th version you're seeing right now that says the servers are up. Refreshing that page should bring up the accurate version eventually. -

Either you are joking, or you are a waking dreamer.
The Radiation set has never been available live for blasters. Ever. Since Beta. Period.

Neither has Kinetics, of course.
Blasters will be getting Radiation Blast with Issue 16, though. Maybe the OP is playing in the future? -
You're a gibbering lunatic.
(This *was* a joke post, right?) -

Great news
For those not recieving E-mails Follow the Ochos post here particiluarly step 5.
At some point it got set for me opting out of E-mails, I dont recall doing so, but making sure that box was checked sort my issue out.

Already pointed this out: did that, twice. Still getting nothing, which is why I updated a post on that thread. It didn't work.

Same here. The box is checked for me to receive NCSoft emails, which I've checked in the past but checked again just now to make sure.
Something's screwy with the email thing on NCSoft's end, not on mine and probably most of the others that are not getting these things. -

... If we've been having issues with getting NC mail, what then? I have to wonder, because the only NC emails I've been getting are my bug reports and petitions in the live game. Nothing whatsoever other than those.
[/ QUOTE ]
I get some NCSoft emails, but not others; there doesn't seem to be a pattern in what I do get. Everytime I see people here talking about emails they're getting that I don't get, I double check my email address on file and of course it never has magically changed itself.I also go through my spam folder daily, scanning stuff before I delete it. Not that NCSoft emails should end up there since I have any known NCSoft email address on my white list.
But anyway, it doesn't really matter if you get a closed beta invite email or not. Once it starts, just try to log into the Test Server and see if you can get in. And then maybe once every few days after that, and especially if they announce that they're adding waves of testers (as they do sometimes).
If there were an actual NDA for these things, that had to be digitally signed (like the CoV closed beta NDA), then an invite email would be absolutely critical. All the invite email contains is, well, an invitation, and a friendly reminder not to talk about closed beta stuff. There's nothing in it that you *need* to have or to do to access the closed beta. If you can get past the character creator on the Test Server, then you're in the closed beta. It's that simple. -

I guess it's not a fatal problem, but I always wonder what the note was -- it's like getting a warning sent by your past self that's illegible. "What does it mean? What am I missing? Am I supposed to trust this person, or avoid him/her?"
[/ QUOTE ]
Or "Don't trust Mender Silos" and "I'll see you in the crystal!" -

...and an MMORPG w/o the basic social tools is...uh...what? an...O...RPG?

It occurs to me that we CoH players are spoiled when we consider something that no (almost no?) other MMORPG has (a way to easily chat with players on other shards) is considered a "basic social tool." -
Hmmm... after a quick search on the web, it doesn't look like Home Antivirus 2010 is actually associated with Vundo (Vundo often masquerades as official-looking antivirus software). Here's a page that claims to have a complete fix for Home Antivirus 2010. According to that site, MalwareBytes is only part of the solution, but you may want to do some further digging.
MalwareBytes is one of the absolute best malware tools out there (if not the best), so it won't hurt you to have it at any rate. -
Download MalwareBytes and run it. I'm betting it'll find Vundo or something similar. I've been seeing a LOT of this particular trojan, and it always seems to get past antivirus programs (AVG, Norton, McAfee, etc). MalwareBytes can usually take care of it.
