    Dialog question.

Use $name in the text box. That should make the name of whoever is running (leading?) the arc show up in the dialogue.

Most text boxes have a right-click menu that will pop up, with options like the above.
  2. Updating for Live...

    Arc Name: Saving Synapse
    Arc ID: 1003
    Faction: Heroic
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @Hellguard
    Difficulty Level: Medium
Synopsis: Mender Silos sends you back in time to prevent the origin of Synapse, but can you live with the consequences of your actions?
Estimated Time to Play: about an hour

There *is* an EB/AV in the 2nd mission, and I've received some complaints that there's no warning. I can't edit it now since it was transferred over from Test as a Dev Choice, so grab some inspirations or a friend or two if you think you'll need the help.
  3. Arc Name: Saving Synapse

Dam straight DR, ya gotta take a stand at some point! Either Cryptic starts forking over the dough for your amazing work or you stop making them look so dam good!

What's Cryptic got to do with it?

As I understand it, you can only respec 1 build at a time per toon would that be correct?

Example: I have a toon that I have the primary Build 1 and secondary Build 2. Let's say I messed up Build 2 (like I did with my Blaster by not getting Hasten) and want to Respec that Build. Am I only allowed to change that one Build or does a new respec allow you to change "both" Builds on that toon? I ask as I heard different answers to this question.

    [/ QUOTE ]

One respec will only respec one build. If you want to respec both builds, you'd need 2 respecs.

Here is something to bounce around your head...wasnt issue 13 released on a friday?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No issue has been released on a Friday, despite a notion that pops up every once in awhile that Issue 2 was (it was actually released on a Thursday). Issues 1, 3, 7-10, and 12 and 13 were all released on Tuesdays. Issues 2 & 6 were on Thursdays, and 4, 5, and 11 were on Wednesdays.

Awesome - so is it wrong for me to infer that Issue 14 will go live on 4/7/09?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, you can assume they'll issue the Freespec on (or after) 4/7.

I14 could go live tomorrow, and the freespec come a week afterwards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Might want to try reading the announcement. The freespec will be given the day that Issue 14 launches. From the OP:

    [ QUOTE ]

Issue 14 is just around the corner, as with many powers changing Issues we will be granting (1) free respec per character, on the day that Issue 14: Architect is launched.

I know this is extremely unlikely but if i14 hits, um, next Wednesday (the 1st)...

...well, forget automated emails, that would be such an awesome birthday present. XD

    [/ QUOTE ]

Every issue I can remember has gone live on a tuesday.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Issues that have not gone live on a Tuesday:

    2 (Thurs), 4 (Wed), 5 (Wed), 6 (Thurs), 11 (Wed).
  10. I had a lot of fun with this one. I like time travel stories of all sorts, especially ones that play around with unforseen consequences. Dr Aeon's rambling was a bonus too.
  11. Arc Name: Virtual Disaster

    Arc ID: 8707

    Faction: Crey, Victors Online (custom)

    Creator Global/Forum Name: @Hellguard/Hellguard

Synopsis: Paragon City Heroes are being attacked by agents of Crey, who are funding a shady video game company intent on making the most realistic super-hero MMORPG possible... by extracting powers from the heroes for analysis.

I would really appreciate any feedback via in-game comment submission or by PM here on the forums. Thanks!

If any of your arcs reaches dev choice status, that arc doesn't count against your limit. So really you can have up to three non-choiced mission arcs. You can have an unlimited number of choiced arcs in theory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This isn't quite true. According to Avatea in yesterday's City Scoop , the same arc could get both Dev Choice and Hall of Fame and you'd get an extra arc slot for both of those, meaning the number of arc slots would only be limited by how many times your previous arcs got "Dev Choiced" or "Hall of Famed."

    Here's the quote:

    [ QUOTE ]
However, if your stories reach Hall of Fame or Dev Choice status, you will be rewarded with an additional story slot! And you can continue to earn additional story slots with every Dev Choice or Hall of Fame honor you receive – there is no limit! Also, if your mission gets awarded Dev’s Choice, you can STILL achieve Hall of Fame status (and vice versa) – so you can earn both!

And don't worry...if your mission gets awarded Dev's Choice, you can STILL also achieve Hall of Fame status (and vice versa).

City Traveler Badge: Hit the ground running… this badge unlocks access to the following Power Pools at level 6, so players can access Tier 1, 2, or 3 powers early on.

    [/ QUOTE ]

doesn't allow for what, ... either your incorrect, or the devs are, i'm guessing it's not the devs

there are 3 tiers in each pool, without the vet power,... tier 1 unlocks at lvl 6, giveing access to the first two powers,... tier 2 unlocks at lvl 14, giveing access to the third power in the pool,... tier 3 unlocks at lvl 20, giveing access to the forth and final power ,..., the vet reward allows access to all three tiers at lvl 6 on those four travel power pools

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, but you're incorrect. Source. Also, this.

It would appear that the Devs consider the power pools to have 4 tiers, even though the first two have always unlocked at the same level.

I can't seem to find a confirmation, are we able to create our own character and flag them as an AV, thus giving them AV resistance?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can make AV/EB-level bosses, and since custom bosses use the same costume creator that we use to make characters, then the answer to your question is (effectively) yes.

Is open beta announced before it starts? Do you think it will start this weekend?

    [/ QUOTE ]

If memory servers, Issue 13's Open Beta actually started a little bit before it was announced on the public forums. People here were talking about being able to suddenly get on the Test Server, and I remember some of us asking on the closed forums if it was okay to start talking about stuff. Lighthouse replied that they wanted to actually make the announcement first.

But if there is notice, it won't be much of one I'd say. I would expect it to go open any day now.

Granted, I haven’t read all 44 pages of this threat, but I have read several posts about MA rewarding us with tickets for defeating enemies. Anyone know, if these tickets are tradable amoung players?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    They are not.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Sorry if I missed FAQ 1 but is there an est. release date? Thanks.

    [/ QUOTE ]

According to all the gaming news site articles that NCSoft supplied information for, Issue 14 is scheduled for release sometime this month. This, of course, assumes nothing goes horribly wrong during Closed or Open Beta.

Considering Open Beta hasn't started yet, don't look for it this week or next, but it *should* be out by the end of the month. (Tuesday the 24th and Tuesday the 31st are favorite picks among the speculator crowd.)

Paragraph 2: Refers to what I have noticed both in-game and on the boards about those who are hell-bent on insisting that if you defeat an enemy in an MA mission, you get no XP/inf for defeating that enemy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If I misunderstood you, then I apologize. But the immediate discussion in this thread, to which you replied, was about whether or not mob XP was reduced if you had NPC helpers in MA missions. It *is* reduced, and your post seemed to be disputing that.

I don't recall anyone, in this thread, at least leading up to the posts that you were replying to, saying that you wouldn't get ANY XP for mobs that were killed with the aid of helper NPCs, just that that XP would be reduced.
  20. [ QUOTE ]
It seems some people are cursed to never believe the words "We’re granting full experience (XP) and influence rewards for defeating enemies in player made content." Instead, they instead insist there's a huge "except when it doesn't" that the Devs meant to add following that statement.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing you didn't bother to actually read the link that Mirai was nice enough to find and post, huh? Here it is again. Maybe read it this time?
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Will the Devs create their own arcs and publish them, would'nt mind seeing what the Devs have to write up. would be kinda cool...maybe eventually get special badges for defeating Dev created content.

Isn't that what we've been doing for the last 5 years?

    [/ QUOTE ]

where'd you get this, from what i've read you still get full rewards if you have ally npc, you're just limited to how many you can have; Are dev-content arcs that have npc allies nerfed xp? I've never noticed anything like that

    [/ QUOTE ]

    See here.

There were some discussions about this a looong time ago, but they've been lost over the months.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks! I knew I'd read it somewhere, but couldn't remember if it was here or in one of the gaming news site articles.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No. Dev-content arcs still give you full XP when you have NPC helpers. I read somewhere that NPCs in MA arcs will reduce your XP (which makes sense, because otherwise you could make MA incredibly easy by stuffing missions full of powerful NPCs to help you). I'll try to dig up the source, unless someone knows already (::summons Tripp_Hazzard:.

As I recall, they're severely nerfing the XP and rewards one can earn within MA arcs, as they're supposed to be 'simulations', not actual missions. That is to say, no salvage drops, no recipes, no enhancements, reduced chance of inspirations, and reduced XP.

    [/ QUOTE ]

XP won't be reduced unless you have NPCs in your arcs helping you fight. Otherwise, you get full XP and Inf ( source )

    [/ QUOTE ]

My understanding is that you'll get normal XP for published story arcs (of which you get three per account) along with tickets/tokens that can be redeemed. You get no XP or other rewards for running missions that are saved on your local computer and haven't been published, since the idea is that you can repeat them over and over for testing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's right. No XP for non-published MA arcs. Full XP and Inf for all published arcs. Just don't get drops like salvage and recipes.
