So they made it where killing the portal gave you xp this was farmed and so they took that away so now you get a big bag of nothing -
I would look more along the lines of this now you have slots to play with; If you want to drop SJ and go with Ninja run and switch out for char or something and fireball you can just a few Ideas
You could also replace one of the Mako sets with crushing impact to get another 5% recharge

FS will need to recharge in 6.072 and that will be 0%
The next best chain is Incin>GFS>Cremate and that needs a lot more recharge than your build at 237% in GFS and does ~190 DPS.
The other option is the one Werner likes, Incin>Scorch>Cremate>Scorch, which is ~170 DPS compared to your chain which runs ~180 DPS. It's more end-friendly, and if you stick a Hecatomb proc into Scorch, closes the DPS gap even further and becomes a rather viable chain.
Thanks a lot I went back and did a slightly goofy attack chain on the pylon test a non saturated one and i dropped 90 seconds of my time I did last time. Since I had a purple proc in firesword I worked that to my advantage
I went GFS > FS >Inc > Cremate this is where it gets weird I dropped an extra firesword in after cremate before GFS but it was not always up and sometimes when I did I had to drop into GFS >Inc>FS then it work back around into the original chain like I said a quirky attack chain but I went from a 11:30 second to a 10min flat pylon test. -

Having said that, that doesn't mean scrappers can't have any ranged attacks at all. Like you mentioned, some base sets even have ranged attacks in them, like claws and spines. The devs could satisfy a lot of their customers if they created a ranged attack pool powerset scrappers could dip into. The squishy/ranged at's get a lot of nice melee attack choices in their pool sets, so I see no reason why scrappers couldn't get some more options for ranged attacks. And the devs have already kind of headed in that direction with the fire epic pool recently. For a couple of pistol attacks, I'd just add them to the devices pool. -

As far as budget goes, I was thinking in the 100-200 million range, but was expecting it to end up being higher (probably around 500 mil). The sooner I start putting in bids, the lower the end cost will be, but that doesn't change the fact that sometimes you just need to invest some serious influence. Eventually I'll be planning to step up to one of the sexier "Farm God" builds, but I've never softcapped a character before, and have always envied the seemingly invincible characters who sport that vital 45%.
Obviously a budget like that can't cover all of the special enhancements like +Recovery in Health and Stamina, but I figure that survivability is the most important part of the build, and that I have room to grow from there.

As far as I can tell, the most important thing will be softcapping defense. By using Char and Ring of Fire as prereqs, it seems like I'll be able to pick up some very effective sets for defense, and even post-nerf, BotZ still seems like a functional addition to the build. I'm pretty open minded regarding choice of travel power (or just Ninja Running), and I suspect that the build geniuses on here know more than I do about power choice.
This doesn't have to be an end-all farming build with capped recharge, just a solid build that will be able to stand tall after drawing huge aggro from a Shield Charge or Lightening Rod. I'm not too proud to use generic IOs to cap his important attacks. He's currently in his mid-levels and starting to get his really great powers, so I figure that I should start putting bids up on the Auction House.
Also, as a side query, does the damage from Against All Odds apply to Lightening Rod and Shield Charge, or is damage calculated from the point at which it is cast? Just curious.

I have a new build I upped my global recharge some more
I been playing with my attack chain and wanted to get some eyes on it to see what the best ST chain was. I took down Babbage and Requiem as Monster and an AV tonight so i know I have a solid chain just want to see if it can be better than what I am putting out or if I am good.

Post your build when you get it planned on and decide on what you want. We can look it over and maybe fine tune it some or just say go run with it. I am always looking to tinker with my build looking for new ways to maximize the set -
People that debuff that I know of that I can think of my head
Sky Raiders swords and Machine gun have debuff
Tsoo some of the sword attacks have debuff
Battle Maiden sword attackers do
Most anything with assault rifle or sword generally has some debuff
There are a few more -
Ok here is a build I did not include Super Jump as a travel power I generally use Ninja run if she wants it have here take it and push stuff back some and drop temp protection or rop i threw those in at the end or you can add assault instead as well so you have so flexibility in the build. This is not a high end build but a middle of the road. I skipped shock wave why would you want to knock guys out of you Blazing aura but some swear buy it so any you claws guys make any comments please I am no expert on claws I went by what i would do but I have some quirks like anyone else. I did not take burn in the build there are always arguments for and against. So here is an idea you can tweak way more than this and go crazy but I got around 21% to 28% defense and 52+% s/l resistance and healing flames down to a 17s recharge.

All and all just a functional build with some good sets, we mainly play in a small party Her and I, and sometimes a bit bigger. I do not forsee us doing any AV"s just us two anytime soon.
I wouldnt have asked, but I have only ever seen one claws/fire build posted and would like to show her a few and see, and inturn learn a bit more about scrappers myself (12 months and I have only really played blasters) -

I think Fire is the better PVP set (not 100% sure) but it does have big burst damage and pvp is about damage and fire works great in PVE
If you do /sr go fire/sr and throw in aidself for a heal is an option -
Ok here is my planned build this is the one I use to solo AV's which is why I have aidself (this is a modify version of the ones in the Rikti Pylon test and has more recharge than that build)
This is only a slight modify version of what I run on live servers now I have several version of this build one with Maneuvers instead of CJ and some slightly different slotting with maneuvers over CJ
Right now I am bidding on a lotg and farming merits so which ever happens first will get me my last lotg
Also make note I use Ninja + sprint run for a travel power

Kinetics in general lines up pretty favorable to a melee set.
This is all from memory, bare with me here if powers arent in the right order.
tier 1 siphon power = build up type power
tier 2 transfusion = self heal
tier 3 siphon speed = +recharge buff
tier 4 increase density = self resist/defense toggle
tier 5 Inertial Reduction = free travel power please!
tier 6 speed boost = scrap for another power (mez attack power)
tier 7 repel = ok scrap this for another power (more resist/def attack)
tier 8 tranference = endurance replenisher
tier 9 fulcrum shift = another super build up/damage debuff
Its really not that complicated.
It'd be like no armor set we currently have.
And it'd take SKILL to use. Wow how bout I be challenged in this game besides upping my difficulty settings besides +3 or +4 mobs spawned for a team of 8.
Why not just play a mind/kin troller it be basically what it feel like -

I try to be a little different with my toons so my main farmer is a elec/sr scrapper.
Currently his only farm mission in freakshow. I don't have 2 accounts so i'm not PL'ing alt toons or anything.
My goal is just to use him for influence to transfer between my other 50 toons. So mainly I use him for the influence gain as well as the salvage or recipe drops that he may gain.
My question is, with that in mind is it worth it to farm freakshow mission?
In the game I've heard both sides.
Positive - they resurrect for more influence, easy to kill and they give better xp then some other groups.
Negative - the don't give good xp even with the resurrections, and they don't give good drops at all.
So I was just curious what you guys on the forums think? Do you agree or whats your opinion?

The funny thing is between tactics, maneuvers, grant cover and assault buffs you would thought it was a defender conference not a scrapper one.
Now mind you this was a group of us scrappers from the forum so we had a lot of high end builds and different flavors we had anything from fire/sd, katana/reg Broadsword/inv and spines/fire as examples it was a mixture and we rocked the house -
Gerr well I had to shift slots around I have two options I can keep Combat Jumping or to maneuvers.
If i keep combat Jumping I have to move my early lotg to the late 40's with the other one
I had worked out a respec yesterday where i could get another 7.5% to 15% increase in recharge depending on what i decided on
So with the options the stats will stay the same I lose a the chance of 15% recharge to only being able to add in 5% more recharge
The kicker is if I wanted to just go with the 7.5% recharge I could have kept my extra 20% slow resistant which has come in handy. I no longer have that option with out losing defense gerr oh well I will deal with it and move on
Glad I did not just waste it then i would have been really upset; so Castle I am glad you put it out because I am a lot less upset then having wasted a respec on a build to lose everything I just had. So for me the change is a minor adjustment I have one build in the works only 2 toal zypher in it and it will not be effected much because it is a db/elec and i was only hitting like 30% range defense so it drops to 29% or so
