Heat Guard

Hello all, I know with the news dropping on us like that priorites may have shifted, but we still have roughly 3 months left (& i refuse to give up hope that something can be done to save the game) and I say NCSoft be damned, Monday Night Fights will stay up til the end, or further if I have anything to say about it! So let me see those gladiators let loose for sport, blow off some of the anger thats ben building up!

I downloaded and tried CO yesterday and kinda agree with the costume thing. had to keep hitting random to change my gloves, the options for the gloves never give an option. Eventually I was able to make as close to a copy of Heat Guard as I could (luckily one of the free AT's is fire based & obviously his name IS Heat Guard) and got into the tutorial. Logged off after 2 min. It does have 'just' enough to remind me of CoX, and I think it may just be too soon. I WILL be staying here til the lights go out and will pray to the Well that something happens to keep our universe from shutting down, so I think trying ANY other game right now will probably make it seem worse than it actually is.

Edit: I'm not saying the game is bad, I don't think 2 min is anywhere enough time to determine that, I just couldn't get myself to play longer without feeling like i was going to breakdown over what we're losing.

I have to say, this thread has me more fired up than I have been since the bomb dropped. I've signed anything involving saving the game, I'll be sending letters and whatever else I can. My heroes/villians have never been the quiet type, and I don't see the point in starting now,

Well said my friend. I wasn't here for nearly that long, but rest assured that if/when the time comes Heat Guard will be standing tall fire sword in hand when they come to turn out the lights.

Hard to say, E. Mission, my first (and only) 50 villian will probably sit atop the highest point in Grandville looking down with disdain at what he always felt should have been his.

Heat Guard will hover above Atlas City hall, fire sword in hand waiting to meet the coming end the only way he can, believing above all else that he'll get back up again in some way.

Chronoblast will probably be in Peregrine Island, using his tech knowhow to find another universe to travel to in hopes of saving himself and anyone else he can before the end.

Brushback will go to Croatoa, find Jack and have that rematch he's been wanting for a long time.

Blaqstone will be surrounded by the magical artifacts within the Midnight Club.

The others I'm not sure at the moment.

I can't give much, there were a few times I had to wait to renew my sub, but I will give support in any way I can, thank you Tony for your efforts and know that whatever the result, we'll all know that you did your best. You're as much a hero in RL as you are in the game my friend.

Thank you War Witch and to everyone else for giving me a place I can call home on the internet for the last 3 years. I hope the best to you all in your future adventures, may your legs carry you over any building and your lack of gravity carry you into the stars and beyond.

Haven't cried any, but there were a few times yesterday that I had to blink a few times when some memories came up, but right now I think some other emotions are higher on the list to allow tears, anger at the way it happened, disgust at the way NCSoft handled it, and an upset stomache (though admittedly that last may have more to do with a bad lunch than anything). But I don't know if the 'no crying' thing will hold true as we get closer to DOOMSDAY (though I'm not at the point where I have given up hope that something will happen that'll keep is in the game, one way or another).

I signed all that I found and believe me I'm not taking this laying down, I spent a good portion of lastnight calling/texting/PMing anyone that I knew would want to help with this to sign the petition, I'm giving any support to TonyV that I can, and praying that the Well of the Furies has one last trick to pull out.

This game has been a huge part of my life since I stumbled in the door and won't leave quietly, I plan to not only be one of the last ones left but to barricade the doors!

I've had an STO account (free) for awhile, didn't play it much as i MUCH prefered this game, (even most of my console games) so i may play that a bit more. There is always CO or DCUO for superhero action if it's really needed, but can't say I'm impressed by DCUO and heard more not so good things than good things for CO.

I just read about whats going on, gotta say it kinda hit me like a brick on the little toe. Like what was already said i'm gonna miss the community and especially those on Pinnicle above all else.

Ok, I was happy to see Monday Night Fights in full swing when the Interwebs saw fit to let me on & saw some really good fights!

I believe Warburg may become the regular hot spot due to the higher number of heroes over villians, always with the option to move to another zone, like say Recluse's Victory, if we get enough of both factions and want to fight full strength.

Ok, so for tomorrow, I'm thinking of maybe keeping the party in Warburg, as we tend to get more heroes than villians on Fight Nights. As always, I'm open to moving it to wherever the fighters would feel better fighting, so if you'd rather bring lowbies (lower than 30) we can always head to Siren's Call.

Hope to see everyone coming out for Fight Night and have some face bashing fun!

I don't know why everyone thinks it's either a bug or someone not paying attention, I would think it's quite obvious. It, like most everything else, can be explained easily. It's a Nemesis Plot, thought of by Black Scorpion, and secretly executed by The Clockwork King. Simple.

I didn't get around to making the costume til a few hours before the event, but I did enjoy running around like that, even had a few people do a double take and ask why I dressed like that. Good times.

Yesterday got off to a slow start, Mako making his presence felt I'm sure, but the party did pick up and there were some pretty good bouts.

I'm a little late writing this, but just a reminder that tonights Fight Night will be in Warburg and might end a little early, around 10ish (est) for tonights CoP run @Cranium is hosting.

Hope to still see a good turnout and remember this if just for fun, no need to take it too seriously, so just enjoy the act of beating people up!

I've already reserved my spot for after the Monday Night Fights, I was thinking of bringing my time/beam defender, good buff/debuff and slotted for some decent damage for a fender, though if more damage is needed I do have an energy blaster I could bring, but thats only if needed.

Yesterdays Fight event I think ended with a strong finish, thanks to everyone who came out to participate!

I hope everyone had a fun time and will be ready to do it again next week in Warburg, capped at 38, but accessible to more characters and will allow same faction bouts. I'm hoping we get a fair amount of both heroes/villians so after individual fights we can have a group vs group battle to end the night.

Ok, now that the summer event is done, it's time to kick the Monday Night Fights into high gear, starting with this new thread with the title that says it all.

For this week, I think we'll start off with the best of the best going at it, so bring your 50's, your best characters, or just someone to say you were there, to Recluse's Victory starting 7-8pm (est), with the posibility of moving to Warburg if we get more of one faction over the other.

And remember, this is just a casual run at PvP for fun and yuks, so leave any grudges in the PvP zone after the fights are done, friendly competition is always encouraged though while there.
