  1. When beta went from closed to open, I noticed this. After selecting a character and hitting the 'enter <blueside/redside>, when the blue bar appears and starts moving I got the sound of the train for about 2 to 3 seconds...then the music plays as usual. (It was loud, like when you are right under the tracks.) This never happened on live UNTIL I17 went live. Now I have that same little blast on entering the City. It's not a game braker by any means, but it must be something in my sound/pigg files. Verifying files and deleting checksum makes no diff. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this. ?
  2. The Ninja Braids are still missing from the hair choices..I really liked them, besides which it came in a pack that I paid for. Hope they are availabe again soon.

The Blackwand and Nemesis Staff still have the wonky ground-pull animation. Like to see that fixed too.
  3. You have hunger pains from the infestation devouring your intestinal lining and making transdimensional interfaces into visual companions while enjoying pickles soaked in prune extract overnight betwixt thousands upon thousands of gleaming spectacles vomiting extremely vile copious bile onto unsuspecting sentient cockroaches, which oddly feels like a hot roast beef/salmon entering a very cavernous mouth, and stimulates frenzied ferrets in perpetual, harmonized, synchronized, and, ironically, disproportionate proportions of cheese mixed with stuffed olives -- you idiot who was eating itself while dancing with wolves wearing orange see-thru
  4. With the advent of Issue 17 and Ultra Mode, this thread needs a new chapter for those of us with Nvidia cards. jg0001's original settings were perfect for me, even though I have an older puter. UM is a whole new set of variables and it will be good to see what works best for others. By 'best', I mean the most eye-candy with the least amount of lag. For me, the original settings work, plus water set to high and reflections to medium. Looks awesome, even without shadows.....turning on shadows drops my frame rates. I hope this will help someone with a low-end card/older system to see a nice visual upgrade to this game we all like so much. I'd love to see posted settings from high-end systems to low. Don't know if jg0001 is still around, but it would be great to see what he'd have his quality settings on in UM, as compared to his original.
  5. Hope your birthday was awesome, Zyal!!!!!

  7. YAYYYYY! now there is REAL BS here!!!
  8. I'm with Myriad on the G11. I had the G15, but found that I wasn't really using the LCD. The G11 still has the 18 extra G-keys like the G15....there was a model inbetween that had less keys, but I am spoiled with 18. I really love this keyboard.
  9. My zoms are
    Pusspocket
    Skabz
    Kootie

    My Grave Knights are
    Apochrio
    Mithras

    My Litch is
    Korboros
  10. I am not having a problem with my pets' chat bubbles. My zoms do the entire YMCA song. It's loads of fun and people seem to love it!

I also have them interact with each other just for a laugh.

  11. Back Blast is right. It's best to remove all traces of old drivers before installing new ones. Sometimes there is a conflict if bits are left behind. I would also suggest deleting the coh.checksum from your CoH folder and let it rebuild when you start up the game. (Might be a corrupted file.) How long since you did a dfrag? I use Defraggler, and I am amazed at the amount of frags after a patch or update. Also, be sure and close down all non-important background programs. Sure hope this helps.
  12. I have a lower end AGP card and double-box all the time. I run my game in windowed mode always...when I db, I have both instances on the screen at the same time, each talking 1/2 space. Easy to pop back and forth with the cursor. I can actually fight with both characters,

    mouse runs down

A possibility is that the driver has a corrupted "jump to" setting. This is called different things by different manufacturers, but is a setting where it moves to the default button when a window pops up. It could be moving to the corner instead of moving to the button. Find this setting under mouse properties and disable it.

    other possibilities:
    -dirty input device/surface.
-Bad driver. Make sure you have most recent version for your mouse, and if you do try removing and re-installing if you haven't already.
-Mouse jumping like this is sometimes indicative of a remote access user. Are you in an environment where IT has remote access to your comp, or anything? Have you checked to see if any remote access software is running in the background?

If you are only using one monitor, make sure that your settings reflect this. Sometimes your mouse is attempting to jump to a second screen when there actually isn't one.
Oh, also make sure you don't have multiple drivers for the input device; the drivers could be conflicting.

If you're using an optical mouse put a sheet of plain white paper underneath it and see it the problem still persists.

I sure hope it's something easily remedied
  14. Ingame, try the /reloadgfx command

From desktop, open the Run command and type ipconfig /flushdns
Make sure there is a space between the g and the / (I created a shortcut for this.)

Sure hope one or both of those help you.
  15. A common reason for this is overheating. Maybe you can check that first. Make sure all your fans are functioning. The latest driver is the 197.13 WHQL. Is that the one you have? Ingame, you might try messing with the geometry buffer setting. Hope that helps, and hang in there.

  17. On your first attempt, try ticking the 'remember me' box...sometimes that worlks to make the first login 'take'. Sure hope this helps.

  19. That is awesome, Nightphall! I sure loves me a happy ending. /em cheer
  20. If it were only getting dim, I'd say you could replace the backlight bulb. Is there a way to test the monitor by putting it on another puter? Can you see if a friend or family member's monitor works ok when hooked up to your puter? I'd do that kind of testing then decide whether it's time to fork over/save money for a new one.
  21. First, I aplogize for this being off topic, but I must say this......BILL Z BUBBA!!! It is so great to see you here...I just wanted to thank you SOOOOOOO much for all the times you helped me and solved my dilemas. I am most certain that there are many others who feel the same. If I could, I'd send you a case of Meguiar's Demonhorn Polish to keep your head gear shiny! /em thankyou praise hugglez
  22. Asking questions here is never a waste of time. If you don't ask, how will you get an answer or a possible solution? There are so many wonderful people here who have helped me when I needed answers. I am SO glad your problem was fixed!!
  23. In the end, I'd say use the setting that gives the very best results for your setup...that is why you have different choices. Visscale/4 is REALLY cpu intensive, and many puters wouldn't be able to handle it...might cause lag for a lot of folks. I think you could click on your CoH folder in Windows Explorer, open the file 'options' and add visscale 4 at the bottom and save. (If it caused a problem, just go back in and delete it.) The other way is to create a keybind that you could hit real quick when you need it.
you could try /bind numpad1 "visscale 4" (or use the tilde key so you could hit it with your pinky fast.) Sure hope this helped a bit. Good luck!
  24. Garrott, I have a MM and the lightning still shows in the swords, and I have my Max Particle count set at about 25000...max is 50000. You might try seeing if that's it. Also make sure your Geometry Buffers are enabled. (I have Bloom and DoF off.)
The PhysX driver is included with the Nvidia drivers. (I used to d/l them separetly too, even though I didn't have the actual PhysX card.) I have a feeling that very soon the 197.13 beta driver will become WHQL and be avalable as the next update. Hope that helped!
