I use Defraggler . Right after a patch/update, the worst fragmented things are 99% COH items. (This program lists exactly what the frags are.) I think it does help to do this before entering the game...has been working for me.

Do you ever use MSMessenger? If you are like most folks you probably might use Yahoo, Skype or AIM. Would you consider uninstalling or disabling it to see if that helps?
It sounds more like the possibility of a 'hotkey' of some kind that is triggered when you play CoH. If you can, get into MSMessenger and look at the preferences and see what's there. Good luck, and let us know if you solved it.

LOL..I once created 'Private School Girl." It was a male toon made as skinny as possible but a big chest, the goofy guy smile and long blonde hair. I dressed her in a plaid kilt with a blazer jacket (to cover the kilt-pouch) and long socks with white sneakers. Just a little added info for anyone with a Logitech ''G' keyboard...(I have the G11, used to have the G15.) Over a period of time I have had to redownload/update my drivers. I began to notice some lagginess about a week ago, and cpu usage was fairly high. Never had that problem before. After some searching and probing, it turns out that I had a whole slew of leftover profiles for my keyboard!! (They were all the same.) I deleted them all, and reset my G keys to the way I wanted them. Now, all is well...no delay ingame, back to the way things should be.

I have 2 accounts also, and always buy the 'percs' for both. My solution is to use my card on the first, then pay for the other through PayPal (using the same card.). I can do one right after the other with no hitch.

Rude comment about interaction with dev's mama.....bold-type to represent yelling to GET THIS FIXED NAO!...compare-oranges-to-apples statement siting that 'another' game is somehow superior....another bold-type demand, including a two-sentence whine. Attack and name call any other forum poster who disagrees, even politely. Rude comment about interaction with posters' mamas.....calls the devs more names, comparing them to brainless, overpaid do-nothing slackers who ignore players. Last bold-type demand to fix the game or else.

I. too, have a Logitech mouse but it's cordless. Here are a few things you might try.

Open your Windows control panel and go to Accessibility Options...untick the StickyKeys, FilterKeys and ToggleKeys.

Make sure your driver is current. (Looks to be the Setpoint 6, same as mine.)

Try changing some settings in your logitech mouse control panel..'up' the acceleration a bit.

Clean out your temp files, run a disc cleanup and shut down any unnecessary background programs that are running before you start your game.

See if switching to a different usb slot might help.

By the way, a lot of people are experiencing a problem like yours. The last patch seems to have helped a few folks, but it's still an issue the devs are aware of. I have been playing 6 years now, so I've seen a lot of problems come and go. Things get fixed. Good luck, and hang in there!

I'm with you TJ, when is comes to turning my anti-virus proggy off only when playing. You were the one who suggested that a while back, and it really helped. I'd like to thank you for all the sage advice you passed along to the forum...I'm sure that others feel the same way. I have an HP desktop-WinXP/sp3-Nvidia 7900GS AGP card-2 GB ram

That being said, I figured that I would not be able to enjoy any UM setting at all. (Been playing for 6 years, enjoying every 'new' change/addition/issue.) My settings are all on high, mapserves/rubberbanding are few and far between. On closed beta the worst thing I encountered were black squares where my contact and costume pictures should have been...that was fixed with a patch. I went for broke and cranked all th UM settings to high just to see what would happen. The game was gorgeous, but my framerates were in the 'upper fives' LOL. After experimenting I discovered it was the shadow maps, ambient occlusion and high reflections that were the culprits. The thing I love the most is the water! My settings on live have the water set to high, and reflection to medium..these 2 settings alone have made my game look incredible with hardly any loss of fps.
For a while, I had some delay with my keyboard. Turns out it WAS my keyboard..a GS11...I had somehow accumulated too many profiles in the game control panel, and it was causing a conflict and high cpu usage. After deleting them all and resetting my original profile, all is well. (I also got into Windows/Control Panel/Accessibility Options and unticked the Hotkeys, FilterKeys and ToggleKeys.)
Even though I can't crank my UM settings as high as those with newer puters, I am one happy camper. The only complaints I have are mostly cosmetic. The Ninja Braids/some costume pieces are missing, and the blackwad/nem staff animations are still wonky....but I know these will eventually get fixed.
There are wonderful and savvy people on these forums that have helped me so much, and I am grateful. Guess I posted this to give folks with older puters like mine a heads up, that with some fine tuning and good advice, you can enjoy a 'new and improved' look to this game we like so much.
