It's the card overheating, guaranteed. That is the only thing here which has ever produced that effect.
So do the regular stuff. Make sure the card and fans are clean, that the inside of the case is clean, that all fans are spinning. Get speedfan or something similar and check the temperatures.
Then go out and buy a new card because you are going to need one in a month at most.

Your right. I switched out my graphics card and the graphics problem, crashing, and quite a bit of lag all went away. -

The graphic problem only starts when I enter the AE building. As long as I don't enter it I'm fine. -

So whenever I log into the game, after about 10 minutes my graphics turn into this:
http://i43.tinypic.com/25i9ero.jpg
If I lower the graphics quality, it will fix it temporarily for another 10 minutes, then again it will appear like the image. As long as I continue to change the quality, it will make it better.
This all begin the day i14 went live. I have no other info as to why this is happening. -
I like the room in AE that deactivates all powers. It really helps with the lag issue. My idea would be to apply this to all Wentworths/Black Market areas. The spamming of powers really adds to an already laggy area of the game. The only problem I can see arise from this are the Black Market areas. They don't have the protection that WW has from police drones, so any attack from a zone mob, rikti invasion, zombie invasion, etc, you couldn't defend yourself. Something would have to be done about that.

Hey, im playing the trial right now and i understand at low level that their isnt much as far as pvp buti m okay with that. i have a friend that use to play and im wondering how well this pvp system is, but from what i hear its not that great. so in your opinions on a scale of 1-10 how well is the pvp.
What features does it have, form what ive seen it has arena and contested territories, but is there something equivalent to the WoW Battlegrounds or something like that or is it just not that impressive.
Thanks in advance.

If your interested in a PvP game that you constantly have to re-learn every 3-4 months, this is the game for you. -

OK well I just finished my first night of PvP since I got back from Iraq and tried it under the new rules. I went in there with an EM/EA brute with standard IOs (no set bonuses) on a build that will one day hopefully be a good LRSF build.
Of course I got owned quite a bit. But, I have to say I loved the experience. I did get some kills, and the fact that I was not built for PvP was a disadvantage (I almost lost a 1v1 melee with a kin/elec defender, lol!), I was able to make contributions quite a bit with my taunt, and did get a number of kills through the evening. Regardless of how good or bad I did, though, I really loved the new rules. Now my brute currently is an EA with nothing to boost his standard shields. So yeah, I was running 26% defense. It's an aid self build, but I didn't get aid self before 30. So I was getting hit a good bit, but it wasn't like before I13 where even with all the IOs and power pools in the world, it was like I didn't even have a secondary. I mean they missed me SOMETIMES. I saw the occasional deflected over my head. I LOVE the lack of status protection, but that the mezzes were shortlived. Like there was a point where a defender and controller were tearing into me with slows and endurance drains, and trust me, life was not good. But it didn't put an utter end to me. Sometimes they were able to get me, but it took them a while, so if a buddy came in he could shew them away. But if I got no help, then yeah, those two squishies would have taken me out with their debuffs and sands of mu, lol. It's like there are grades now. Before, you were either fine or you were done. Now, you are fine and then they get you and they have to work on you to get you and you still have a chance to get away. I just loved it. I came out of there pretty bad off. I still got owned a lot. It's not like te new game requires no skill or experience or toon building, but I got the impression that if I did rebuild my toon and did get more experience, then I could be good at this. It's like there is still a learning curve, but not so steep.
Overall, it was a great experience. And now I see that I need to spread the word among others who have given up on PvP. The devs have fixed PvP. They just haven't got the word out. Maybe they need to come up with different and better PvP rewards to lure the standard CoX player. I don't know. But I do know that I totally love the new system.
So I just wanted to thank the devs from the bottom of my heart for making PvP a valid part of the game again. Not something for a particular type of player on a particular path that most of us know nothing of.

Congratulations! In a week when i14 goes live you'll get to learn yet another new version of PvP. They keep giving and giving. -

I would suggest tesla cages to 7, drop shocking grasps, and add a supercharger (ando from heroes style) buff, that works similar to power sink (i think it is power sink) that increases secondary effects so SC can drain a group properly.
I really want to see electricity control too.
[/ QUOTE ]
I agree. Telsa Cages should be 7. A power such as Thunder Clap from the Storm Summoning set could go into the 6 slot. -
[ QUOTE ]
You... Did notice that you've got 2 AoE Hold powers in this set at tiers 6 and 7 where the standard AoE Hold power of controller sets is at 7...
So Elec gets access to their hold a lot earlier AND gains the ability to stack holds in an AoE making it possible to lockdown the whole area INCLUDING multiple bosses, while OTHER trollers have to drop their AoE hold and then use their Single Target power to choose ONE boss to lockdown fully...?
Just checking...

[/ QUOTE ]
I know. I wasn't sure what else to put in the 6th power. Maybe some form of another pet, or some type of AoE stun. -
I'm hoping one day an Electricity control set will be available. Browsing through the powers available for each AT, I noticed there is already quite a few powers that could make up such a set.
Tesla Cage, Short Circuit, and Voltaic Sentinel are from Blaster/Defender Electric Blast Set. Electric Fence, Lightning Field, Lightning Clap, and Shocking Grasp are from the Blaster secondary. Electrifying Fences are from the Mu Ancillary Set available to Brutes.
I looked at Fire Control to model this set after. The order and choice selection I feel are very close. I took Shocking Grasp, a hold from Blasters Electricity Manipulation, and made into an AoE Hold, also changing it from High DoT to Minor DoT. The same thing was done with Tesla Cage, also creating an AoE Hold from that power.
To me, it seems like it would be a very functional set. But like I said, the powers here are already powers that exist in the game. If there ever was and Electricity Control set, I'm sure it would be a bit different.
1. Electric Fence (Moderate DoT(Energy), Foe Immobilize, -End)
2. Tesla Cage (Minor DMG(Energy), Foe Hold, -End)
3. Electrifying Fences (Targeted AOE, Minor DoT(Energy), Immobilize, -End)
4. Short Circuit (PBAoE, Moderate DoT(Energy), -End, -Recovery)
5. Lightning Field (Toggle: PBAoE, Minor DoT(Energy), Foe -End
6. Tesla Cages (Minor DMG(Energy), AoE Hold, -End)
7. Shocking Grasps (Minor DoT(Energy), AoE Hold, -End)
8. Lightning Clap (PBAoE, Foe Disorient, Knockback)
9. Voltaic Sentinel (summon sentinel: Ranged) -
I'd love to see Shadow Shard and Croatia converted in co-op zones. Imo, it would make sense conceptually since their both desolate areas.
-
I'm sure this has been answered already within the 81 pages, but I'm too lazy to look so I'm hoping someone will answer. Will the architect provide the ability to re-create existing characters within the game? Such as if I wanted Statesman or Recluse to be in it, would I be able to do this?

Watch what you ask for.
You'll get mobile Root, but in exchange they'll halve the radius of mud pots, double the slow effect and endurance cost on granite armor, and they'll probably throw in "K. You get mobile stat resist, but we had to throw out the art/stacking armor changes to make it work."

Oh hai. -
I haven't seen too many fire/kin guides on here, so I figured I'd share my own.
One of the biggest differences in my build compared to others I've seen on here is that I took the fighting pool instead of the leadership pool. Personally, I feel many fire/kins take this pool because they truly don't understand how powerful their toon can be, due to most of them being PL'd themselves. Assault, especially for a fire/kin, is not really needed. Containment is one of the best inherents in the game, and if used correctly, can produce a lot of damage. In order to make the most of it, you have to be able to get into those mobs and take some damage. Maneuvers is a joke, which is why I chose tough. Combined with one of the epic damage resistance powers will provide great smash/lethal resistance. Tactics is a good power, but for the build I wanted, skipping the fighting pool to get it wasn't worth it.
I've noticed a lot of fire/kins will dip into the speed pool for Hasten, but skip on Super Speed for Siphon Speed. Siphon provides a quicker recharge on your powers, but with Hasten + IO recharge bonuses, I didn't really have a use for it.
I find Acrobatics a "must have" for this build, plus Combat Jump is a good power as well, which is why I chose the leaping pool. Yes, you can get a knockback IO, but it wont provide the hold resistance these 2 powers provide.
I chose fire as my epic pool. I felt it provided the most damage, and as a fire/kin my main objective is to kill as quickly as possible. Fire Cages, then Fulcrum Shift + Fireball, not much left is standing. Anything that is, their health is so low, hot feet will finish them off. Any lieutenants or bosses that are still standing around, just hit them with a char and fire blast.
Flashfire, Cinders, Fireball, and Fire Blast are 6 slotted for a recharge IO. Transfusion is 6 slotted for an accuracy IO. Doctored Wounds doesn't provide any accuracy. The accuracy IO, plus the combined accuracy from set bonuses is more than sufficient.
Ring of Fire, Smoke, Bonfire, Repel, Siphon Speed, Increase Density, Inertial Reduction, I personally don't have any use for them.
I Hope this guide is helpful, and provides some ideas for you if you decide to build a fire/kin.

Having been playing for a little while now, I'm still fairly new to the boards obviously
. I wanted to share a build I plan on respecing into very soon with my blaster. Before I did, I was hoping to get some input from some experienced players. Positive or negative, I welcome your input.
