  1. This entire thread is a good testament to why I'm not enjoying the game right now.

The side I'm playing, I've done all I want in, and the other side gets shafted in terms of fun content.

Thing is, Recluse WAS allied to the Rikti, untill they ATTACKED HIS ISLES.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And like any super-powerful villain, he immediately ran inside his tower and locked the door, and no one's heard from him since.

Seriously, what does he think about the fact that his "Destined Ones" are running off to join the Vanguard and play around in Paragon City?

    [/ QUOTE ]
You'd have to ask him directly.

Which means that unless this is actually addressed in-storyline, there's no reason to even care.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No? Pretty much everything else that villains do has Arachnos sticking their nose in it... to suddenly take that element out without explanation is a bit strange. Of course, Freedom Corps doesn't say much about the invasion either, but for heroes it's sort of expected that they're going to go help save the world.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Except that the entire Arachnos storyline is contrived BroadSword anyway.

It's part of the many reasons why I stopped bothering with Villainside. The arcs are just plain bad.

that's not quite as epic as wrighting up a fanfic about having to farm behemoths to prevent the end of the world.

    But it's close.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Or farming extra-dimensional mobsters.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
Well, if you really want each side to have unique features, then I suppose we can count "Having more content than villain-side" as one of CoH's unique features.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And having "lol nobody plays Villains 'cause they don't get [censored]" being one of CoV?

If you really do play both sides, you probably play Heroes more. I completely understand you, since, y'know, people [censored] log on over there.

They day the games are fully merged, that heroes and villains all have access to all of the zones etc., is the day I cancel my account. It is a bad idea all around.

    [/ QUOTE ]
becuase you will have more people to play with, you will be able to lvl faster and see more content?

    [/ QUOTE ]
No, because World PvP is antithetical to how this game was launched, and thus, antithetical to the very thing that attracted a large portion of the Old Guard among the playerbase.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. I don't need to level faster when I can solo to 50 within a few months of casual play.

My global list is nearly full. I can find people to team with at any hour of the day when I desire.

We have PvP zones. Would I mind if those were made cross server? Considering the small number of players I find in those zones, no, I wouldn't mind that at all.

Would I mind the constant nagging of "Player X wants to fight you" when I'm soloing in PvE zones? Oh yea, that'd annoy me to the point of cancellation in a heartbeat.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Dunno on what kind of miracle server you play, but yeah.

I have no problem supporting more zones for villain side, I just don't see the value in the new zones being hazard zones.

    [/ QUOTE ]

it's not going to happen, so there's nothing to argue about.
But villains getting access to hazard zones would be an improvement over villains not getting anything.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In your opinion. Hazard Zones on CoV would be a huge waste of code. I play CoV more often then CoH and I would HATE the idea of the Devs spending time creating wastelands like hazard zones rather then adding additional SFs or new storylines or QoL improvements or bug fixes or lag reduction.

Any new CoV content/fixes > New CoV Hazard Zone

    [/ QUOTE ]
I think what most people meant was giving villains access to the Hazard zones.

Quite frankly, that'd be rad provided they update them with villain content. It'd give villains a way to interact indirectly with heroes. Like, both sides throw monkey wrenches in the other's plans with the content.

Villans have more (but typically shorter) arcs available via flashback.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Typically shorter? Not just that, but they also tend to be already done by the time you hit Ouroboros.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
The devs DON'T hate CoV, they just recognize the demographics, and - again, if I'm correct - it would not make sense to parse development resources out in some way contrary to those demographics.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Matt Miller doesn't care about CoV people.[/kanyewest]

Tell them there will be Punch and Pie. More people will come if they think there will be Punch and Pie

    [/ QUOTE ]
The only way we can truly have Punch and Pie would be a PvP event organized by Calash. :P
  13. [ QUOTE ]
I know RAF has participated in and more notably held events...

It's probably ironic and quite sad that the server's own boards aren't even aware of the events on the server :P

    Introducing the P.E.R.C.!

The Player Event Resource Committee is a collection of players from every server that are dedicated to enhancing the City of Heroes/Villains experience by helping plan, support, and run different projects on a server and game-wide level.

Our shared goal is to help complement our existing community projects through events like contests, games, badge tours, and the exploration of both new and existing game content.

So if you have an idea you would like to submit, need help with the planning or promotion of an event, or might be interested in applying to the committee itself; please click on the link below. After you have been redirected to our site, please click on "New User" at the top of the page to register. You will be asked to fill out a very short questionaire letting us know in what way(s) we can help you. Please be as descriptive as you're able to; the more we know, the better we can serve you.

Thank you in advance for allowing us to assist with your event planning needs.

Click here to request help on a community event, post your event on our calendar, or to share creative event ideas!

Or just the Legion of Valor thread. It's pretty much the only thread they post in.

Shields though is a VERY specific power that only one character I know of uses: Captain America. So I can see why that wouldn't be included when its a pretty obvious infringment/ripoff.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Um...no. Captain America does not corner the market on shields. There are a ton of concept characters that could be made using shields. There's a ton that will be made using DB too. The point was that DB did not win the poll. It was just the easier one to implement. Personally, I'm glad they're adding any new set at this point. The devs have really been too slow at getting new sets in the game. They need to add these two, and then a lot more.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Didn't DB win the poll and Willpower the one that was easiest to implement that scored the highest (since Shields won that part?)

I'd say there are more precedents for dual blade-wielding comic book characters than for clawed ones or hammer users. I can't think of any mace-users offhand, but there might be one.

Other than Thor, we NEED more comic book hammer users.

That reference to the 'widow of Doctor Greg Miller'? Well, Dr. Miller is the second person you talk to in the Outbreak mission. He's the one who sends you off on the rest of the missions.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You're right. And on the villain side, Hard Time is the first contact you talk to and Angel Lopez is one of the second ones. They're also the only two villains who are mentioned as dying in the raid. Jimmy Dortz, the other of the two you're directed to, is oddly enough listed in the "We Remember" section.

    [/ QUOTE ]
In addition, Jimmy Dortz' text after completing his mission and he explains tutorialistic stuff said the same thing as Angel Lopez's, except that it didn't make sense since it referred Superadine. He was but an afterthought in the devs' minds.

I'm afraid that this may be the signal to the start of the end times of CoH/CoV. It's the only explanation for such contradictory and complete revisionist storyline.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Not exactly...

I sense Flashback missions to save those "dead people".

But yeah, it could also be a clear sign. But I doubt they wouldn't want to go out with a bang, and right now, this looks like a wet firework.

Well written as always. But did we really need a backgrounder for a group that hardly sees the light of day and always seems to be getting beat up by the Freakshow. C'mon give this group some love.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Yes.

We need something. A TF, trial, zone dedicated to that group, whatever.

    But they need something.

Much like a LOT of the CoV groups.
