  1. Thanks to captain solaris for organising this.. Im happy for you who succeeded. For me it didnt go quite as planned 2 hours got me to debt cap but not the one badge I needed.. I hate that stupid pvp debt change. Even if I played my lvl 50.

    Temp inv, unyielding = 1 end redux, 3 res
    resist elements/resist energy/resist phys damage = 3 res
    invinciblity = Im not sure actually, 1 end redux, 3 def buff propably, maybe add 1 taunt

    fly = 2 end redux, 2 fly speed
    dull pain = 3 heal,3 recharge reduction
    health = 3 heal
    unstoppable = 3 recharge reduction, up to you add extra res (with 2 res you hit the resistance caps without any other powers, whether you need that is up to you. Possible to add endurance modification to help with sappers)

    focused accuracy = 3 end redux, acc buff im not sure, depends.

    stamina= 3 end mod

    I doubt you'll need conserve energy much, but it doesnt need more than 3 recharge in any case.

    Most attacks that you plan on using = 2 acc,3 damage,1 recharge redux

    Stun = 2 acc, 1-2 disorient duration, 3-2 recharge

    PS. If youre not into PvP, Other epic pools might be more fun..

    Not that I know of, at least. Just gotta add enough telepads to accommodate all beacons.

    Correct, def debuffs are normally not a problem because they usually have to hit, especially for defensvie sets as they have def debuff resistance. It is the to hit buffs that the more dangerous thing, however these will get cancelleed out by over slotting in the way you describe.

    IIRC The only enemies that cause excessive -def buffs are Antimatter's clockwork and Rularuu. These need to hit to get you so hopefully the 30% buffer should be able to deal with them. If I start seeing more than 4 or 5 debuff icons it is time to run ( or accept my fate gracefully ).

    AFAIK being above the cap with resistance doesn't help at all.

    I'd appreciate if you or someone else could dig up the formula of how damage, resistance and buffs/debuffs work in this game.. Just to know for sure .

    Precisely, of course, Im not saying that other team would be powerless against stalkers but it isnt automatically a win scenario for the hero team just because they have clear minds. I got a rude awakening myself once in sirens call when there was a stalker team with grant invis there.. I had 3 clear minds on my blaster and I couldnt see a thing. Almost got a nervous breakdown.

    Fascinating, because I was thinking along same lines when planning my new MA/regen build. Resilience really doesnt seem like it has much effect.. Quick recovery and stamina combined feels almost like overkill recovery..

    I have meant to take this thing under discussion several times, but here goes.. if the toHit formula really works like Bridger posted to the thread about debuff changes:

    Then wouldnt any 'over the top' enhancement put into self-buffs actually make the character more resistant to debuffs of the same sort? Ie, putting def enhancements to,say elude so I'd in essence go 'over' the def cap, help me when Im def debuffed? This is because, as I understand it, the debuffs and buffs are cancelled out BEFORE they are capped in the above formula... Or course, this applies only buffs, not to things like accuracy.

    PS. putting extra on MoG is however propably wasted anyway, I don't think the power is über anymore

    Erm since when did smashing damage get to be better option than psionic damage? I wouldnt dream of ever making a mind toon without mesmerize.. Anyway, I feel that levitate is better option over many ranged attacks from secondary though. The damage of dominators sucks so bad..

    And I might point out, a FOTM build is one that is POPULAR as I perceive it. That doesnt make it super. Spines/regen scrapper is GOOD, not über.

    Ah i also meant top point out that energy is massively resisted (i think energy blast does smashing too, which is also resisted. my blaster has like 20 and 30% res to these). while some of the powers will cut through, i don't really notice it when fighting 'PvP specced' energy blasters. imo a blaster primary should offer good ranged control and damage and i don't really see energy doing this.

    not meaning to say it's poo, but in zones and arena it's always energy manipulation that gets me, not blast, even some guy in warburg who was dive bombing and sniping me wasn't having any success whereas if he had just run up and bashed me I would have died :/.

    Yeah, and particularly villain squishy as I consider them to be much harder to get working both solo and team.

    Unfortunately Im a person with little time to the game and Im a very slow lvller.. (being in game since february 2005 and I only got one lvl 50) I AM going to come up with other villains when I get the chance.. But I'm slow

    That was a mistake, but I meant that you must take either of the first two powers in any case. I made the mistake of thinking gamblers cut as the mod damage attack, silly me.

    Hm, according to prima guide, blinding powder cannot sleep players, only PvE critters. Has 50% chance of confusing a player. And 20% chance of crit is not something I would make sacrifices over, at least if theres no extra chance added, even if I happen to be a stalker.

    I would still take invisibility over nearly every other lategame power, even over Retsu.

    Definately. You want some buffers/debuffers/mezzers on the team. Any decent mixed hero team can destroy a team of Stalkers.

    Just as a team of good villains can kill the opposing balanced hero team (note, im not trying to counter your argument, rather than point out that its down to peoples playing skills rather than builds always)

    Personally I think that its the villains who are having trouble in the zones currently, which is why I play that side when I get the chance. Playing heroes is too easy atm.
  20. Wah! Im away from the game couple of days and already somebody gets a bad pvp experience..

    Actually, if the pvp zone is overpowered by either side, its going to be very very bad for beginning PVPers, and my advive is either to try recruiting some more people to your side on arena channel or leave it to some other time.. You aren't going to get any mercy no matter what the odds. (the tp foeing is daft though) That can be either good or bad depending on viewpoint, I like the challenge, but recognize the fact that sometimes you just got no chance. Thats the nature of PVP. Of course, suddenly some person or team might join your side and it switches completely around.. The other side cowering in their base.. Its all what fascinates me in PvP zones.

    Some hints though: you WILL want stealth on your stalker in addition to hide before you enter PVP zones, its simply not worth it trying with just hide. And even then some dedicated stalkerhunter builds will be able to see you, so the best defense is always to hide behind walls and corners if you see heroes.. Don't blindly trust your powers EVER!

    Same goes the other way. If a regen scrapper gets overconfident and just stands there, ANY two stalkers can take him down just like that. It is all relative. I can take regen scrappers down solo with my currently under-par stalker if they happen to be slow with reconstruction-button. Nothing is absolute in this game.

    One other thing is to team with other stalkers, and try to AS the same scrappers/tanks at the same time. A good stalker team is a frightening thing.

    And if you go against overwhelming odds, just acknowledge that you have no chance, and don't get worked over it. Just come along some other time. It is impossible for the zones to be in balance all the time. (its very rare with our small playerbase actually)

    One thing that I don't understand is why most good pvp-players seem to be on the hero side in Sirens.. I laid off playing my blaster in Sirens cause it was too easy to get kills. With my stalker it actually requires some skill. I wish the good players would come up with more good villain builds, and for a change something else than stalkers.

    Sounds like a bug to me, possible related to graphic card/drivers. /bug it at least.
