    According to devs, removing inherent aptitudes is not what PVP is about.
    Thats why the toggle-drop nerfs came to being for instance.

    PVP is everyones enjoyment, and we could sure use more people doing it. Although I'd recommend playing up to at least level 20 first. At lvl 30 you should be ready for action at sirens call which is where the most of PVP seems to happen.

    You can try arena as well of course, but most often the people you meet there are more 'professional' in what they do, still good chaps though most of them. Getting wins at arena is just tougher than you might think

    Try not to be put off by the inevitable sore losers at the zones, who either mouth off cause they lost or mouth off cause they won. There are lots of nice people PVPing, but inevitably you will meet some bad fruits as well.
  5. You should see the energy/control production and consumptions in the small bar indicators at the upper right corner of the editing menu. Blue bar marks production and red consumption. Both meters should have the blue bar bigger than the red bar, so your base produces more energy/control than it consumes. Hovering mouse pointer above the meters also gives the exact numeric values.

    EDIT: I have just tested this on test server and the combo generator produced both control and energy quite flawlessly. You sure you dont have something that is using up all your energy, or areyou sure its a bug?

    The invisible items bug is an annoying one. Be sure to /bug it and hope that the devs might actually fix it some day.

    Personally, I rarely PvP in Sirens' at all these days. Warburg or RV seem to be much more of an interesting playing field, and usually, a somewhat better atmosphere..

    Hmm.. there is PVP action in those places? Everytime I have checked they have been deserted except RV grinders (which are always heroes so I cant attack them). What server are you on?

    I think you are referring to supression, and all travel powers suffer from it in the same way.

    It probably seemed shorter than usual to you because the animation time of impale reduces the apparent suppressed period afterwards.

    As to spines/regens, I dont consider that they are overpowered. .

    Problem is a.) sirens call b.) the difference in numbers. For some people spines/regens suddenly become overpowered when they overpower the villains in sirens 10-5. Nobody seems to look at the amounts of players there.. Yet I have seen sirens being controlled by villains and heroes alike. Its not the powersets that twist the equation. The player numbers on either side in sirens fluctuate a lot.

    Although I would consider it more fun if hero archetypes were more varied in sirens call. Regen is easy mode, so what? That doesnt make it bad. Its a player choice. Im not making a spines/regen, but I have no qualms with people playing them.

    TBH I cant remember when I have seen a spines/regen in the arena last time.. Lots of other primaries though.

    Erm excuse me? Masterminds are the most self-sufficient PVP archetype out there. Only problem is movement, which may require something like group teleport if you want to keep up with all the Superjumping teammates (note that you dont have to).

    Blaster holds are mag3. TF is always a mag4 stun for everyone but dominators (for them, it's a mag3 stun), there's no "80% chance", this legend was made up by hero planners (or possibly because people aren't aware of certain bosses having disorient protection).

    Minions have mag1 protection, lieuts mag2, Boss mag3. You need to beat the protection for your hold to work. So, a mag3 hold will hold minions and lieuts. If you think controllers/dominators have higher magnitude in their holds because you saw them holding a boss in one shot, it's because the controller did a critical hold (inherent) or the dominator was in domination (higher magnitude).

    Siren's Song is a mag3 cone sleep, it'll get minions and lieuts. Very powerful with power boost.

    Marked part is what I was talking about earlier. Having power mag 2 and make it so that mag2 power beats mag2 protection and you have the same system..

    I meant that you talked about mag2s but now other people refer to those same powers as mag3. Want proof look up from this post .

    Me and magus have been planning our builds since then (I just finished respeccing my live build) and we might take you on Although the 8pm arena gathering on defiant has just recently started, lets see how long it will keep going

    The matches were great btw, and I learned a lot, once again.

  22. Mass confusion wouldnt be bad if not for short'ish duration and loong recharge. In PVP, time is of the essence. Hence the AoE powers arent exceptionally good. Terrify still is ok though, cause it has tolerable recharge.

    Im hoping a bit more amtches with small teams next time, the FFAs were a bit too chaotic. 21 people crammed in that small office map is not fun.

    ALso I hope the devs would hurry with the pocket D arena terminal thing. The villains are easily left out if we keep chatting in galaxy arena using local.

    And the small office map should be scrapped :P

    I hate the discussion about magnitudes because most people fail to see whats wrong.. It is a question of terminology and I have NOT seen how magnitude works defined ANYwhere.

    If you have a power with mag2 effect and you use it on someone with mag 2 resist, does the effect work?

    If you use a power with mag 3 effect on someone with mag2 resist, does it work? I supsect so, but does it work in the above case?

    However this is defined (and NOTE, the definition is INDEPENDENT of any powers), it should be CLEAR that in this system mag 1 and mag 2 effects and resistances affect each other in the same way as mag100001 and mag100002 ones. It is the difference that matters and so im BORED TO MY GUTS to see everybody talk about mag this and mag that when they obviously dont grasp the concept.

    SECONDLY I dont even believe that the system is that simple anymore, as Prima guide mentions mezzes and mex resistances with STRENGTH x.y with even decimals attached. Therefore I HIGLY SUSPECT that the real mez system would be as simple as the magnitude system.
