I thought to make this thread so that people could tell their experiences and opinions of gauntlet in team PVP (obviously not useful in duels).
I thought it doesnt really work at all but it does, however the chance of enemy being affected by gauntlet is really small, 10-15% per attack Id say without any particular testing. When enemy is affected the taunt duration seems ok, couple seconds, but does it have any practical use? Imo the gauntlet pvp chance should be upped, whats your opinion? Most of the time the enemies will be jumping around and trying to avoid the tank in any case. -

Problem with /traps is that it is too passive for almost anything other than base defense. In normal circumstances by the time the /traps corruptor has his tools set up the /kin, /dark and /rad corruptors have killed anything that could step onto them and moved to the next spawn.
(On top of that the terms "Dark Misma" and "damage" are mutually exclusive.)

Imo they should change traps animations and activation so they'd be ranged: such as grenades bouncing around you could throw behind corners, or mines as in movies where you throw them forward and mines set themselves up. Recent references, check for instance Underworld - evolution. -

Slotting up Health and Stamina is generally a good choice, even with QR.

It all stacks and iirc health adds 20%-ish to regen rate so why not? -

My point exactly. Btw I have respecced since last time, I could fight your regen again, MaX. But like Ive said on several occasions, I shouldnt be able to kill good regens unless they make mistakes with heals or put MoG on.. At best it should be 0-0. -

Bleh I didnt read carefully enough, I thought you could put two scrappers into same team etc. Tbh I havent had much fun in pentads so far.

Hmm looking at current powers I also think that little melee attacks wouldnt hurt. I wouldnt lose power bolt though, with my own lvl 50 PVP build im instead thinking of getting power bolt back in next respec. Of the Melee attacks bonesmasher, energy punch, total focus in that order. If youre not taking aid self you should be able to fit them all in nicely, and the damage youll churn out might make you change mind if you dont like melee now
I don't think power burst will ever be good from range. I have thought of it as a closerange attack for a long time, even when I used to have boost range. It is still great attack though
Aid self can be really good when combined with power boost of energy secondary, but Ive always thought it as more of a PVP power. In PvE its not essential.
Snipe is nice but personally I have not had trouble without it.
Leadership buffs arent really worth it imo. Maneuvers especially is too weak. Stealth+SS gives you chance to ghost PVE missions. Def bonuses arent worth it though. -

I'd love to see more beginning players get interested about arena pvp. Do come forward, don't be afraid! Im hoping to be able to offer pointers, discussion and of course practise at any lvl. Beginners can of course practise against each other, with us more experienced people as 'coaches'. I'd love to see that happen
Btw normally we've been on galaxy arena, emerald section. -
If someones making a defiant team you can grab Captain Skyfire lvl 50 energy/energy/force blaster, @hammerfall.
If not enough interest I may try to make a coalition team for this but right now I cant be bothered. -
Yeah I think repair sucks because its so 'one-shot' power and has too long recharge. A power that'd heal half the amount and be up twice as fast would be much much more useful.
Personally I hate triage beacon conceptually, whether its a good power to use I can't say. Traps has too many powers that don't feel 'traps' enough or evil enough.. -

Kinda hard to beat a /regen playing a /sr. Since you are a spiney I'd jump around spamming throw spines and impale. After some shots, your opponent should be noticeable slowed, and so his recharge. Better than web grenade i'd go for the epic hold if you only plan to use it against regens: not only it slows it but can also hold him if you stack enough of them. Also get lucks for duels instead of greens, they are much more useful imo

Um which scrapper epic hold actually has -recharge? Web grenade is the only one that I know of.. In general I think epic holds are more lacking in secondary effects than their primary/secondary counterparts.
Regens will always be difficult to beat with a non-debuffer character. Only recently with my new build my blaster has managed to beat some but they were so inconsistent with their heals I dont consider that much of an achievement. -
I would actually prefer lvl 40 cap, but I can play 50 if you want to. Epics twist some characters too much. Make it that I can fight at any lvl. And I do mean any..
Btw I think Kheldians could be added to the melee section. -

Nice reference, btw. No in those cases I wouldnt petition you. If someone calls someone a f***ing idiot like ive seen then they get petitioned character or no character. Proper in-character 'trash-talk' shouldnt get petitioned. Problem is most players seem incapable to understand the concept of in-character. PVP zones are 12+, we need keep it civil.
Besides getting petitioned is not all that important. What matters is do the moderators act on that. If someone says that they petitioned you, that means exactly zip. If you get contacted by a moderator THEN you know you did something wrong.All we can do is hope and demand that the moderators stay sensible.

The first base I ever built during beta had the amazing see-thru generators and the glass steps of doom. They are still available to place in your base now. The steps are particularly amusing as if you place them correctly you can make people fall through the floor of the base.

Well, if thats true, we all get access to mez protection in the form of acrobatics. Although not great (mag 1) where do we draw the line. Also controllers and defenders can get access to protection and not every kheld has dwarf form.

I think the word was "inherent" in the first post of this thread, which I read as "no self-affecting mezprotection power in the primary or secondary powersets of the AT". Epics and pool powers dont count. (and I hardly call acrobatics a mez resistance power anyway)
Discussing this is pointless as allowed ATs were listed in the first post of this thread. That is good enough for me. -
